i was in the very front at this show but in a wheel chair so you can't really see me but i was right there, awesome show, took my little 14 year old brother too for his first real show.
The part that impressed me the most was when he leaned forward and let the audience play with his killswitch, I mean, it wasn't that big of a deal, but who lets the audience participate in jamming THAT much? As small as it was, I've never seen another musician effectively let audience members experiment WITH them. Buckethead is just amazing.
Its amazing that musicians of this caliber often play small venues and produce their own CDs and simply make a living. Why? I guess its because they cant be rammed into a corporate mold chopped up and marketed. The industry prefers pushing no talent bums because artists like Buckethead are harder to handle and creative people like him have their own ideas.
I was at this show. He was amazing. It was hilarious when he started throwing Star Wars action figures at the crowd haha. My buddy and I still talk about this show all the time.
Probably the most comprehensive, multifaceted and versatile guitarist. Only just listen to some of his nearly 100 albums he recorded. This guy really has nothing to envy to any guitarist.
I was at this show...SICK! Buckethead is guitar royalty. Too bad Soothsayer wasn't in focus. He REALLY ripped it up on that one. Hope he comes back to CO in 2014!!! BUCKETHEAD! BUCKETHEAD!
Here's an other capture of Soothsayer from the same show, but front row 🙂 th-cam.com/video/dyQJH615KwA/w-d-xo.html It's really an incredible performance 👌🏻
I'm surprised Buckethead hasn't been invited on a G3 tour yet (I hear he's difficult to work with, so that may be why). As weird as he is, he's one of the craziest, most unique, most diverse guitarists out there, and he'd make a fine addition to the trio. Most of the guitarists on those tours are the "classic shredders", and listening to just that for 2 hours can get boring. The Bucket Man can bring a new, fresh sound to the scene. He's also a master improviser (just look at the pikes series, and this concert for that matter), so he'd do especially well in the final set doing covers with the other two IMO.

I really enjoy this young man's music. I just wish that when he plays his live show he would use live humans, because i enjoy watching the inter-action between the musicians and enjoy when they make mistakes and how they either recover from them or just blast right through them.
He's not really that young, haha, You should really look more into Buckethead and why his shows are like that. I totally get what you're saying though, but it doesn't really go with Buckethead's style....
Awesome quality. Thanks dude! And I kinda liked the fact the video went out at soothsayer.. makes you focus entirely on the beauty of the notes... And what a nasty version of Gory Head Stump---> Dahaaayum

i love how buckethead changes the sound of soothsayer in every live performance, has to be done for the regular viewers to hear his epic improvising, or as i said, just for a change of sound :)
excellent. thats what its all about right there, nice, really nice, im typing as im listening, so heavy, so expressive, unreal. dig his playing and his showmanship and expression. one of the best ever.
Thanks for this great vid! Nice quality shots of the Bucketman! Awesome way to pay respect. Saw him October in New Orleans, he was letting audience members press his killswitch during songs. Lol. He's the man.
Theory: he does the nunchucks + robot dance to give his hands a break from all of the mad shredding. Can't wait for a chance to see one of these shows.
Man, how I love "Fountains of the forgotten"... I couldn't understand why Bucket used to play it so often, but now I get it. Its amazing! And full of heavy/crazy riffs. He did an amazing performance throughout, but at 1:17:33 my face melted completely
Too bad... I'm never going to see this truly amazing musician live.. unfortunately he's never going to play live in Germany.. he's such an inspiration for me. Long live buckethead!
Me and my son, put a killswitch on my guitar. Its a Guya tone I got from my father year 1977! It´s a Mosright copy, a friend tryed to bougt it from me but its the only thing my father ever bougt me! My father payed 600 finnish marks 1977. On eBay to day it´s valuated to 2500 dollars. I will pass it over to my son, he is a good guitarist to day!
Yesterday a friend opened up to me and told me he was frustrated that surreal, magical, larger-than life stuff existed only in books and movies. I showed him Buckethead, and convinced him his whole till yesterday was for nothing. O:')
what i like about buckethead more than anything else...he seems to say its more important to be yourself and be nice to people than it is to shred... everytime i see him let the fans press the killswitch or handout toys to the crowd i smile...that is the coolest thing

Neoclaw is from 11:30 to 12:56 minute
lol what a good guy, awasome
Saw a show with him last year and he did the same thing. It was a life-changing experience.
Kirk Hammet did when he was young but the audience took the gauitar away and the security had to give it back to him :D
THIS DUDE IS MY HERO
Join "Buckethead (Finland)" group
"Soothsayer" is excellent..... shit the whole damn show is excellent....
yes one of the best versions of Soothsayer on youtube and i've listened to most all of his concerts there are available. huge fan.
His guitar skills are finger licking good
goddammit your really pulling my strings
+jack kendrick you nailed it :)
I've been friends with Buckethead for about 20yrs. Great and talented person.
Heh, that's a good one.
The Best Human Guitarist.
Can you prove he's human though?
The Best Human-shaped* Guitarist.
Think that covers all the bases. Lol.

MaxDamageTV nice, thats what should read in his Wikipedia page lol

Not to mention Colonel Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains, which is a sick jam band Bucket was apart of!
I could not agree more!

Check out Shawn Lane (Buckethead's idol) and Allan Holdsworth
Needs to put some LEDs on those nunchucks.
Wow. Space jam. Buckethead automatic 10/10
That's always his warm up for jordan, it's pretty dope. He'll throw stuff out to the crowd during space jam.
