    A+ for creativity. No other musician says nothing, shows no face and shreds like him. There's something fascinating about a performer who only waves hello and goodbye and allows the music to do the rest. Highly entertaining and talented. Long live Buckethead.

      Tim Gainnes it’s the KISS factor. KISS would have never made it big without the makeup. No talent all promotion. Bucket certainly is a superior player, but his songs are simply vehicles for him to riff over, nothing more. But it’s the mask that adds that mystery that gets people hooked. Suckers in my book

    • @timgainnes5534
      @timgainnes5534 6 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      Kiss, “Put your hand in my pocket grab onto my rocket”? Kiss was nothing more than timing. I’d love to see Paul Stanley play a slice of what bucket head is capable of.

    • @arceus8745
      @arceus8745 5 ปีที่แล้ว +26

      Its not the mask. Its the fact that he chooses to speak through his guitar and not his mouth.

      Dear Duped people-
      There's 100s more talented and relatively more famous players in the past 20 years that don't have 1/4 of the success or recognition as Brian Chickenhead.
      He's good... not great, like so many of these dopey know-nothings like to blather about.
      The persona and the mask have EVERYTHING to do with EVERYTHING.
      Sounds like you guys just want to stroke his killswitch and choke his chicken 🐔

    • @PostPatriot
      @PostPatriot 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      He's just another prog rocker. Good stuff but it's a bit like showing up to listen to a guy jam for two hours alone. I've seen far more active shows, like with a full band.
      I don't listen to it much, but there are enough artists to fill a 12 hour playlist.
      I saw his debut and think time has certainly slowed him down a bit. I'll have to see if he still jams with Les Claypool.

      Great player but he's got a few decades yet to catch Jeff Beck, although Buckethead is prolific with his material and he's probably recorded more songs than anyone. We lived in two cities a few miles apart, sadly I didn't know him.

      @@kevinherd3437 Jeff Beck is an amazing player, but Buckethead is way ahead of him though

    • @ertreri
      @ertreri ปีที่แล้ว

      Buckethead has a few guys ahead of him. Hendrix, Vaughan and Jimi Page... Not necessarily technically. Technically it is hard to judge ... but technique matters a lot less than the end product, which is the music composition. In terms of music composition, I think there are a few guys well ahead. I think Jimi Page is Nr 1 and Hendrix Nr2 David Gilmore and Mark Knopfler both come third, for me. But on technique, it is certainly Hendrix 1 probably Vaughan 2nd and buckethead probably sharind 3rd place with a few other guys. But yeah ... technique is way less important than the composition. Nonetheless buckethead is certainly one of the greatest of all time.

    Man. Buckethead can't get back to the Seattle area soon enough. I can't wait until the next concert. I saw him live for the first time this past June. It was one of the best experiences in my adult life and I'm 41 now. In order: Got married, had two sons, saw Buckethead live, survived multiple tumor removal surgeries--and almost died during the last one from a blood clot, not homeless...That order sounds as accurate as I can get it.

      Milo On weetbix He cant cause most probably wouldn't get thru airport with the mask, im seriously considering going there just to see his show.

    • @ausman05
      @ausman05 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I doubt he wouldnt come because of that, as much as we all know him he aint the most famous guitarist in the world, say like eddie van halen, but im sure his people could somehow arrange a private way through customs if needed.

    • @_JellyDonut_
      @_JellyDonut_ 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      He doesn't wear the bucket at airports and stuff. That is the whole point of the bucket (or at least a good part of it) you don't actually know what he looks like underneath so he can walk around in public just fine. The hair is a wig so without the bucket the only giveaway would be his height, his giant feet, or his freakishly large hands :)

    I've seen him live and really enjoyed it. I never like his live stuff as much as his studio recordings though. Those who know his music know that he really shines when he is recording in his studio. That's his comfort zone. I love him live, but the studio that he really excels, on his own and without a band. If he were in a band, his creativity would suffer.
