Just Beautiful!!! Not sure what the future holds but it is certainly beautiful now. I wish I could remember who said "You can't have a great city without great parks" He was talking about New York and the Brooklyn Park. I love almost any place that is peaceful, clean and takes me away from the grind.
Damn thats one adorable dog. SQUIRREL!!!!!!!!!! It seems like a very serene place, as a country boy I've always preferred the peace and quiet of rural landscapes. Nice vid Rob.
@yescandles I'm with you all the way on that one, Mike! That's the good thing about having Boo. He needs his walks, so it makes us go exploring new open spaces. This new park has just been fenced around, but left wild. I like that.
@fishypaw You are right, and echoing what local people said. We've never had several days of heavy rain since Upton was built. It remains to be seen whether they even did enough to remove the threat of flood altogether. If not, there could be a lot of people in new houses with wet feet! :-)
@fehquig It used to be a natural flood plain for the river, until they capped it, drained it, and sent the water elsewhere. I too like the wild state of the park. Besides, I don't think our Council would want to spend any more money on it! Thanks for looking in, Andy, and hope you're well!
@Juliesol73 Aw thanks. Northampton keeps expanding all the time, and like just about every other town in the UK, it has many thousands of new residents from Eastern Europe. It still retains some of its market town atmosphere, but it's fast becoming a metropolitan centre, with Polish and Latvian shops springing up everywhere.
@whistonlass Hi Jacquie!! So good to hear from you! I hope you're feeling well and happy. I always liked your comments, because despite battling with your personal black cloud (me too), you always seemed to manage to put a positive spin on things, whatever the subject matter. The video. Boo does have a yellow frisbee, and I just happened to find that blue one in the water. After fishing it out with a branch, he now seems to prefer that one to fetch! Thanks for your comment. Glad you liked :-)
@notinmyname2050 Lol thanks Shane! He is a soppy, bonkers, run-in-circles-for-no-reason sort of dog. He was already named Boo when we got him at 5 months old, but I more often than not end up calling him Booby! As for the park, yesterday was the first time we'd walked round it. It's as if nobody knows it's there. It's within spitting distance of thousands of houses, but we only saw one jogger the whole time we were there. We are lucky that Northampton has lots of green space to dawdle in
@OhCurt Thanks very much, Curt! My editing skills are not on a par with yours, but I'll keep trying. Our dog is so soppy, he just runs around in circles for no reason. He's quite bonkers, but lovely with it. I hope things are going well for you. :-)
@kern0099 Hi Adam, and thanks for the compliment. No, I've never worked in film, but I guess it would have been nice. I just cut out all the bits that make me go, 'Yuk', and you get the rest! :-) Hope your Independence Day celebrations went well!
@moomay11649 Thanks Mooz! Good to see you, Carol! I hope you're feeling much better, and ready to take on the world. Well, the TH-cam world anyway! :-D X
@Perroquet51 Hi Marc! I hope you're well. Boo is one year and eight months old now, but is still very juvenile. He's clingy too. He hates having me out of his sight, and follows me from room to room, like a furry, four-legged shadow!
I'd sooner pick up dog crap any day than have to read crap on TH-cam, but some people seem to have no control over their verbal diarrhoea. That's just the way it goes.
Very restful and relaxing to watch. Love the music too.

Nice vid Rob.
Very nice recreational parkland... What's nice about it is that it's not formal with manicured lawns, but in a more natural state...
I have tears in my eyes, I miss Northampton very much
That was very nice Rob.... Thanks for sharing.

Very peaceful. Boo looks like a puppy here. How old is he now?
Nice but I can't help wonder if removing a traditional flood plain is a good idea.
