There's a moment at 7:28, when the claws are finally tugged into place, where +Brittany Doran raises her arms and instantly slips into character. That magical moment when the transformation is complete has to be my favorite part of wearing and watching others wear costumes; when you fully become someone/something else!
WOW... I am very impressed with all the great work you did. I would never have thought of any of the materials you used to make the suit. Thank you for taking the time to show the whole process, I greatly appreciate it!
Fun stuff! I'm not much into cosplay, but the ingenuity that goes into these with the cheapest, most available materials makes it a true maker-art, and of that I'm a fan. Well done! Cheers, Chris.
+Brittany Doran The details on the bodysuit are very beautiful. Is there something special someone should keep in mind when sewing such an elastic fabric?
I saw a Mechanist and Assaultron cos play at Dragon*Con 2016 in passing on a sky bridge. I don't know if it was you guys or not, but it was one of the best pairings I recall seeing that convention. I could even swear I heard the Assaultron walking sounds, but I could have just made that part up since the visuals were just so perfect. Awesome job!
Excellent Job on the costume. It looks great and all you hard work and effort has paid off. Thanks for posting the video. Have Fun at Dragon Con and watch out for that Mechanist Guy.
this is amazing brittany! these techniques will help so much and the suit came out even more amazing than i would have expected!!!!! It looks fantastic! awesome work!
A small handheld battery operated screwdriver would work to make the hands rotate with very little modifications. I picked one up at Lowe’s for under $20. About the size of an electric toothbrush.
Amazing Costume! you can nearly hear the sound of tiny electro motors moving this robot :D you two are really the coolest prop couple of the internet. please keep doing your awesome stuff :) !
Even though you're not a 100% satisfied, your costume is super cool and looks great! If you want the hands to move, you could easily fit a "pull string mechanic" into the hands, like those trash grabber things. :) Don't believe it would be too difficult to make. That being said, this is probably the best homemade Fallout costume I've seen so far. Very well done. :)
I might even have 600 now with Nuka world out 😂😂😂😭😭😭 I hate assaultrons but I love them too it's like I CANT DECIDE But I'm young I've got more time on my hands
I have been cosplaying as a Stormtrooper since '17 and it's all pretty familiar for me, specially the suiting up sequence and the strategies to keep things in place. It's very nice! congrats for this nice video. I do want to, someday, make a simple lightweight 'robot' and put a foam armor like this n it... great level of details too, cognrats!
I really like the painted bodysuit. It makes it look like the suit has more foam pieces to it, but I imagine it gives you quite a bit of movement flexibility you wouldn't have with foam at the joints. Hope you guys have a blast at Dragon Con!
it's so crazy she doesn't seem happy with this? This is my favourite of all of the youtube-cosaplys i've ever seen, I just think it's so unbelievably cool.
Great video! Where do you purchase the thick upholstery foam? Do you have any links available for it? I can only seem to find the white stuff on Amazon.
I think we're still working on a giant sheet of upholstery foam we got at Fred Meyer. It was in the outdoor/camping section advertised as bed cushions. Joann Fabrics has lots of the squishy foam, but usually only in white and green color. A few years ago, I purchased the "open cell foam" online from this site. www.thefoamfactory.com/opencellfoam/opencellfoam.html It was great quality.
We purchased the upholstery foam locally at Fred Meyer. Craft stores carry the foam in the fabric section. Also, camping sections in department stores.
Thanks for the personal view of a Sunday morning at your place. Been there :) Hey so this is the first time I have seen either of you using styrene as structure support. I may have been binging your stuff. Is there some reason that you do not seem to use styrene much or is it just coinkydink or...?

I love that moment, too!
So that's why furries are the way they are...
That intro is beyond awesome!
Cosplay is serious business!
o
+Punished Props that would be great, i love intros that make me chuckle:)
FallOut Boy56 o
Great costume Britt!
Thanks Ted!
WOW... I am very impressed with all the great work you did. I would never have thought of any of the materials you used to make the suit. Thank you for taking the time to show the whole process, I greatly appreciate it!
Sadly, now you need to add servos to the head, and a sound board, to make the f'ing terrifying laser face blast charging noise.
If I want to make people poop themselves, I must do this.
And ad one of the those lazer that burn down paper
great intro! yes more please :)
you two are awsome,i wish you had vids from you using it at comic con
Been following the Assaultron Build videos since you began... the anticipation of wondering how it came out is finally over! It looks AMAZING!
Thank you! :D
The assaultron is my favorite robot in fallout 4.
*Codsworth Hated That*
Brittney is adorable, it has to be said.
Not as adorable as you
The streams are crossing again!!!

BARNACLES!!!!!!
After watching all the episodes, you clearly are VERY GOOD at what you do! This is amazing!
Thanks! You and Bill really help me and my cosplay/prop making. Thanks to you i am now making props for many reenactments and stage plays!
That's awesome!
Fun stuff! I'm not much into cosplay, but the ingenuity that goes into these with the cheapest, most available materials makes it a true maker-art, and of that I'm a fan. Well done! Cheers, Chris.
Thanks!
WOW i am really surprised at how well that fabric bodysuit works with the hard materials! WELL DONE!!! and the costume as a whole looks GREAT :D
Thank you! :D
your welcome! keep up the awesome work :)
It all works so well, jesus the ergonomics of it are fantastic.
Thanks! When I make costumes these days, I think "how can I build it so I can move, see, and sit.?" :)
And whenever I make one I try to make it as accurate as possible, ruining all chances of comfort.
+Brittany Doran The details on the bodysuit are very beautiful. Is there something special someone should keep in mind when sewing such an elastic fabric?
Your customes are simply FABULOUS !!
Nice work! You are awsome!!! You have the patience that a lot of people will never have!

That intro honestly made me laugh out load. You guys do such great work. Thanks for sharing.

Glad you like the build! I'll keep my eye out for those Fallout guys :)
this is amazing brittany! these techniques will help so much and the suit came out even more amazing than i would have expected!!!!! It looks fantastic! awesome work!
Thank you! I'm happy the techniques will help! :)
this is why the assaultron is my favorite robot, I created my own assaultron named Valkyrie, thank you for bringing this to life
You should put some triggers on the handles inside of the hands that turn on motors that spin the claws
A small handheld battery operated screwdriver would work to make the hands rotate with very little modifications. I picked one up at Lowe’s for under $20. About the size of an electric toothbrush.
Amazing Costume! you can nearly hear the sound of tiny electro motors moving this robot :D

Maaaan, now I want to add motor sounds :D Glad you liked the build!
Detailed under suit really adds a lot , brilliant
Thanks! It's amazing how a little bit of detail to break up the flat color goes a long way.

Really neat costume, good job!
Thank you!
Looks amazing! Great job!
Thank you!
love the suit, you guys do awesome work.
Does the squishy foam press against your skin? Why not use some soft craft foam on top of it to make it more comfy?
the assaultron cosplay foam armor is really great
Punished Props your welcome
Oh WOW, that costume is amazing!
Thank you so much!
This is AMAZING thank you 😂🖤 fallout is my favorite
Super cool! I really want to cosplay MacCready. Any advice for how I should go about making his outfit and such?
Here's a good place to start: punishedprops.com/new-maker/
Great video, also made more awesome by the addition of April Ness!
There's some equation that multiplies awesomeNess when April is around :)
It's these kinds of videos that make me want to get in cosplay making!
What bodysuit did you use
I believe it's a Zentai suit
I'm super jealous. I wish I could make a Assaultron outfit. I love Assaultron with a personality.
I've watched this at least four different times just so I can see the beginning skit lol
Aww we're glad you enjoyed it!
This looks awesome, so inspiring ♥ Thank you for this video!
You're welcome! Glad you liked it :)
Great video!

Thanks so much for watching!
excuse my language. this is the coolest fucking thing i've ever seen in my life and i fucking love you for making a video on it!!!
You have the power to give some kid the sickest Halloween costume ever
5:50 Bos solger armor up
how mush beating can a suit take.
i go to live action roleplay, and i would love to have a suit but how stedy is the foam?
This particular suit, especially since it's sealed with latex rubber, is incredibly durable and would be suitable for LARP.
Where do you get the foam that is inside the helmet (the black sponge like foam) ? Where can I buy this ? thank you :)
squishy foam ??
We purchased the upholstery foam locally at Fred Meyer. Craft stores carry the foam in the fabric section. Also, camping sections in department stores.
Where do you get the foam and polystyrene?
Here's a bunch of info on the foam we use: th-cam.com/video/rqZ2EBAGzz8/w-d-xo.html
Yo what the best for drawing the template on the shape you form? Tin foil, masking tape, or duct tape?
You guys are awesome! Cant wait to see you at Dragon Con!
Wooooo DragonCon!
Super cool! If you could get that creepy assaultron voice with a realtime voice changer, it would be top notch.
that looks amazing. good job!
Thanks!
QQ: How tall is Assaultron in FO4? I know she's considerably taller than fem ss and almost as same as a t60 power armour. But any numbers?
Holy hell, this is really impressive
great cosplays!! im in awe
Thanks! I usually keep a healthy stock of floor mats on hand for all of our projects. This one might be 5-10 floor mat sheets.
the costume is awesome!😊
super professional
ok
Amazing job!! Best regards from México!!
Now to build some Assaltron Blades on the wrists you can flip out
+Punished Props or even crazier would be that the end of your Assaultron claws could function as spinning tazers xD with real blue electricity :3
Thanks for the personal view of a Sunday morning at your place. Been there :)
Hey so this is the first time I have seen either of you using styrene as structure support. I may have been binging your stuff.
Is there some reason that you do not seem to use styrene much or is it just coinkydink or...?
Most of the time we just don't need it.

Great Job Brittany :)

Fantastic video!
Thanks!
0:52 PR0P-T4RT... Is that Assaultron's designation Proptart? :3
Yes it is! =D
Amazing! Are you working for a movie props company? Or is this work you do craft self taught?
We run our own prop and costume making company. Most of what we've learned is self taught or from books, blogs, and videos.
Instant subscriber , wow you're very crafty and creative , I'm jelly lo
Great job!
Thanks! I'm pretty happy with how it turned out :)
I really want to make a t-51b costume but I lack the skill, money, space, and time...
