Wow thats a nice gooseneck trailer.... very clean install... love the premium touches.... to an already superior Victron Energy system.... I just landed here from your other channel where you did the step-by-step break down for flash/install Venus OS on RaspiGX.. fond memories of CoCo,,,, she was getting old.
You guys are doing some fantastic, clean installs. Love it. I have a new Solitude as well and inherited a Victron solar setup in the bay too that is about 80% done. It only had the 1 OEM solar panel charging 10 Battle Born Batteries via a small Victron solar charger (along with a Victron inverter). Since, I installed 12 solar panels that's going into 2 new/larger victron solar chargers, but thinking I want to keep the stock OEM panel and smaller victron solar charger separate to maintain a separate generator starter AGM type battery. I've already experienced drained batteries over night and no way to start the onboard generator. So I'm pulling these battery feeds running from the small charger the Lynx Distributor bus bar that feeds the main system, and connecting directly to the single starter battery, but trying to confirm if I just connect the generator starter wires right onto the battery as well...? Thoughts from anyone? Thx
You can use the trickle charger connection on the multiplus to keep the battery charged. I agree on keeping the gen start system separate. Plan for the worst and it seems like you've experienced it some.
Enjoyed the video. Noticed that you used the factory supplied solar wiring. Can you share the gauge of the wiring? I'm trying to figure out how you wired the panels on the roof.
Was likely 10 gauge. You take the wattage and divide by VMP or max volts at max power . That will give your amps through the PV wire. I recommend staying below 25 amps. Using 200w 24v (45voc) panels help keep the VMP up higher letting you use the stock wiring.
What did this entire project cost. I have the multiples 2 , 30 amp moot , just bought a 303 rls 50 amp. So we will be upgrading! Would love to get some outside information.
34:12 My solar system (In a Solitude) is very close to this one where it's my understanding with a large inverter like the multiplus ii with lithium batteries... instead of just turning the battery switch on, the inverter capacitors should be precharged using a resistor. With lithium batteries low resistance, the sudden in-rush could cause the BMS to detect a short circuit and shut down with the possibility of damaging the BMS and/or inverter. To combat that I installed a separate switch with an inline resistor to precharge over a couple of seconds than a millisecond before turning the main battery switch on.
We’ve not had that happen in practice, maybe with 1 battery, but by the time you get to 3-4 the combines BMS can handle it no problem. If that is a concern, starting the system from shore power or solar is also acceptable and keeps the battery out of the loop.
This is almost the exact system I’m about to install so this was very helpful. Did I hear you say you used 2g wire from the solar charger to the links bus bar. Trying to get all the correct wire ordered. Do you sell any wire kits?
I have a 2022 reflection 324mbs. I have a 375Watt solar panel package. What would i need to run my 50 amp 5th wheel, and what would be the cost. It came with a charger fornthe batteries but they will only run 12v refrigerator and the lights.
Best to hit us up at shawn@sotasolar.com plenty of options and ways you can go. Parts alone might be $3-$4000, with full installation could be $10,000 plus. Lots of variables.
I have the exact coach. What was the total cost of this exact installation? Equipment and labor. Were interested in doing this same system. Thanks, Mark

Miss that girl daily.
Nice clean install. Looks like you forgot what I forgot; case grounding the Multiplus and MPPT.

That was 2 years ago, plenty has changed. But today for us to install it and supply all materials. $12-14k

Not exact cut lengths, but we can sell you the wire, wiring diagram and Victron components with free shipping.
I don't see any chassis grounds.Victron recommends at least half the size of the battery cables. So 2/0?What am I missing?
How long was the cable from the Cerbo GX to display?
We typically use 25ft of extensions
Where do you buy the panel cover carpet for the plywood backer board?
Menards.

how is it that you are getting the label right side up when installing distributer wire side exit up
It comes with a sticker

Please email me shawn@sotasolar.com to discuss details. An install like this can run $13,000 on up depending on battery choice and size .
Can you provide an equipment list in the description?
Yes I could do that. We’d love to sell you it as well. Helps us.
@@sotasolar I’m on the east coast but would like to talk to you tomorrow.

what is that wiring conduit called and where can we get some? :-) I like it!!!
Should have said those long white ones above the Lynx Dist...
Cable raceway , we love using it. We try and use darker shades to better match the backboard now.
@@sotasolar :-) Of course I found it right after I asked the question!!! tks for getting back
28:50 You should have used a real junction box/busbar.
Wirenuts no.
Just because you haven’t had a fire yet doesn’t mean you won’t.
What I found on the NEC said it was fine, these are rated for 6 awg wire.
If nit wire nuts then what should be used?
Use a busbar. Not wire nuts.
With wire nuts, I have twisted some of the jacketed wire in addition to the bare copper. It acts as a strain relief.
