Covid hit some harder than others. One agent I pull for in a niche market, earned $2600 for the entire year of 2020. He's recovering nicely now. As are we. But this is also a lesson as to why having as large an emergency fund as you can stand, is important. Along with money management
Yikes! I am glad he is recovering from that blow. Covid definitely made a mess. And I agree with you about with the emergency fund and money management!
Great question. This depends on your team and your relationship with them. For example, I had one of my guys that wanted to take a longer route due to snow and he called me to let me know of his decision. Also, there is the tracking via ELD where you can see which route your team members take. If they take a longer route without warning, you can see it and then discuss with them why they made that decision.
@TruckingMadeSuccessful its awesome that you even offer it. Most carriers don't trust their drivers. But you're very transparent, and I promise your drivers appreciate that. They also wouldn't want to take the time to keep track of all their drivers' actual routes. And you even offer a choice of mileage or percentage. Who does that?? Very awesome!
whats a good starting percentage of the load to offer to new drivers? Also so what your saying is CPM drivers get paid for all miles driven correct? How can you tell if a driver is dragging his feet to get more miles out of the load? When i was a company driver i believe i was paid zip code to zip code when it came to loaded miles. I could be incorrect.
Percentage pay is better if company is not stealing or editing rat con and they will to send full rate con directly from the broker to driver email. Drivers legal team can double-check directly with shippers and broker v.a Subpoena . Deposition> For the trials > repossession of a company trucks etc 😂
Haha. I do agree that % pay is better but unfortunately there is quite a mistrust in this industry and for good reason. Its also of course better only as long as the market is good. Miles wont change from point A to point B, but rates may :)
It all depends if the trucking company is being honest with the driver which they probably are not, There's no way you can Dead head Three hundred miles to pick up a heavy Paper load to travel another thousandsmiles for eighteen hundred dollars, And me the driver gets thirty percent of that, That's like a dollar thirty a mile for the truck,
I am 20 years driving as a company driver, I am switching to a owner operator lease to own at GULICK TRUCKING OUT OF VANCOUVER WASHINGTON. They have a new 2023 peterbuilt automatic sleeper, I have spoke to many of there drivers over the last 2 years and 95% they are happy a d most are on 3rd or 4th truck already 11-25 years. Gulick pays 80% of the load. Is this good, ? I am thinking it is from listing to others on you tube
What system do you use to pay your employees? Cash app venmo or zelle or a software? I love your videos I have watched every single one it’s very informative
@@TruckingMadeSuccessful hello! First of all thank you for your amazing videos. They have truly helped me sooo much… Ok how can I pay my driver direct deposit? How do you calculate withholdings?

The right answer is HOURLY. I mean fu^c they make drivers work 14 hour days and 70 hours a week. Oh, and they have to also live at the work site (truck). Also, they make drivers stay away from home for weeks and even months. The trucking industry is a JOKE
Very clear and honest presentation! GOD bless you
Thank you !!!
5:50 what you mean out of luck? broker has to pay cancellation fee when he cancels load
Love your content
Your information is always so beneficial, great interview…
Question, when payin % do you pay your drivers after fuel or is it on the gross of the TRK

The problem with paying hub miles is what if the drivers take a longer than necessary route because they wanna visit certain places on their way?

What about getting paid weekly but it’s per day? Such as $250 per day for 5 days or more.
Percentage should be based on seeing the rate con
100% It should all be transparent
@@TruckingMadeSuccessful unfortunately it’s not in most cases
How does you company handle delays at the shipper or receiver for loading or unloading? Do the drivers get an hourly rate for that?
In our companies, we pay 15/hour for detention after 3 hours and 150 for layover

Yes! 80% is really good!

We use direct deposit for company drivers through our payroll company. For owner operators, it can be Zelle or Venmo or direct bank deposit

Can you make a video on highest income earner in your company
I will definitely look into that! Thank you for the suggestion!
how many trucks you have?
When you hire O/O, do you charge them an extra dispatching fee or everything is included in 25% gross for you.
Everything is included in the 25% :)
What is your process of hiring drivers? How do you get the driving report as well?
I will make a video on that in the future but I use a website called HireSafe to check the driving record :)
@@TruckingMadeSuccessful thank you!
Do you show the driver the total amount of the load on rate con when they get paid per %?
We currently pay our drivers on a CPM basis. But yes, I would recommend doing that for transparency.
Great
I would like to come and work for your company happy new year

Dead head from 200 to 500 miles ???? WOW
Yes, it can be crazy sometimes but the load rate always covers those miles and then some :)
