- Six months after their trip was postponed because of riots, the King and Queen have begun a three-day state visit to France.
The Royals attended a special banquet at the Palace of Versailles, hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron, and joined by some special celebrity guests.
Sky News' Royal Correspondent, Laura Bundock, reports from Paris.

As a French citizen, I am not particularly fond of Macron, our president, but his speech at the Versailles banquet was brilliant and humorous. Kudos to King Charles for his French, not as fluent as his mother's, though. The tribute to Queen Elizabeth by both men was very much appreciated. She was admired and respected in France.

It is a state visit to France not a sporting trip. The itinerary would have been settled months ago with the French government which is responsible for security.
@willx9352 and the rugby world cup IS IN France ATM. The STATE VISIT ends on Friday or Saturday, and he is the KING OF UK and former Prince of Wales.
William and Kate have represented the royal family separately at an england and Wales match. It would be nice to see the king and queen at the event.

Because she was crowned alongside the King, she is officially known as Queen and the consort title has been dropped, though functionally fulfils the same role as consort.

Whilst there's no practical difference between the roles, because she was crowned alongside the King she is officially known as Queen with no consort in the name in proper documents, though fulfils the same role as a consort.
Queen consort is always the spouse of a reigning King anyway. So why bother with it! Queen Camilla was crowned alongside King Charles. I never heard or read that the Queen mum, spouse of King George VI, was ever called Queen consort. Ridiculous.
