Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh received suspension from the Big Ten just as the team were headed to their matchup against Penn State. This is the result of a sign-stealing investigation that's been talked about for weeks now, and Klatt tells Colin that the Wolverines are PISSED about it. Watch as they break down how this is effecting Michigan's season. Joel is on fire this segment. UCLA/A&M analogy was spot on.
Have you watched UCLA the past two games? I don't think Klatt has watched them either. The offense was terrible. And it wasn't on the QB either. Three times they had fourth and short and they ran the same play each time, run right up the middle, and got stuffed each time. People think Chip is the same coach that he was at Oregon and he's not. The offense is predictable and he makes almost no in game adjustments. That's not just this year either. They lost 5 of their last 6 games last season and they might repeat the same feat this season.

Eugene is a great place to live. My brother and his family were neighbors to Belotti. Incredible facilities and great weather. Trophy fishing just minutes from downtown. Skiing, hiking, all sorts of outdoor activities are close to home. Drive to the ocean in an hour, go the opposite direction and you are on the crest of the Cascades.

It may be true that the other network may lean to the SEC but it’s also true that Fox does the same with the conference they cover. I love Klatt but his love affair with Penn State is unreal. I don’t think they’d beat Missouri, Ole Miss, or Tennessee. I contend that it’s not just bias, but when you cover a conference you get more insight on the programs, meeting with the coaches and teams on a regular basis which leads them to over inflate their value. If Klatt covered the teams in the SEC his opinion may be different.
He will love whatever management will tell him to love.

These guys are dead wrong on Chip Kelly. He's 33-33 in 6 seasons. He doesn't beat good teams, and he doesn't win on the road.
The OL can't be this bad in Year 6. The QB room can't be this bad in Year 6. DTR was a Jim Mora commit. Kelly didn't sign a single playable D1 quarterback in his first 5 seasons. The depth/roster can't be this bad in Year 6 that you're playing former walk-ons and G5 transfers all over the field. He refuses to recruit high school talent, and he won't participate in NIL. That isn't "quirky". He's a terrible mix of arrogance and laziness. He thinks he's the smartest guy in the room who can do it his own way. His way got UCLA a .500 record after 6 seasons.

It’s because he’s a usc guy and cowherd and many of us so cal residents had that rivalry with osu in the 2000’s and it was the best era of football for the Midwest and west coast

A better analogy for what Joel Klatt was trying to say about UCLA would be… (an owner hired a new Chef and supplied him with all the best food ingredients, but he didn’t leave him almost anything to work with when it came to cooking utensils. And expected him to make a five-star meal out of it.) I believe that would’ve been a better way to put the analogy.
Harbaugh's always a strong candidate to coach an NFL team. What's happening currently at Michigan is unrelated to that. One existed before the other and will continue to exist as long as he's a college coach.

The more Michigan wins high profile games the weaker the argument that in-person scouting made a difference gets. 9 million fans watched them pound PSU with no Stalions, no Harbaugh, no signs and no problems. In 2 weeks 20 million will watch them, most likely, beat Ohio State. Then they'll roll into Indy and beat Iowa for a 3rd consecutive Big Ten Championship. Good luck trying to convince all those people that some low level analyst was the heart and soul of the program and Harbaugh, Moore and Minter don't know how to do their jobs without his genius insight.

The head to head with Texas and Bama has to matter but so does the eye test and recent play. Anyone who has watched Bama and Texas play recently can clearly see that Bama has been playing much better. In fact, if they were to line up on the field again, Bama would be favored and would more than likely win. Also, factoring in context is really important. Texas beat Bama in the second game of the season when Bama’s QB situation wasn’t worked out and the O-Line hadn’t figured anything out. Texas should still be ranked ahead of Bama, but there’s nothing wrong with applauding Bama for getting better and possibly jumping Texas with an SEC championship win over Georgia.

Jim Harbaugh was the quarterback at Michigan. He also was a successful coach in the NFL. He chose to come back to Michigan because his heart was not left in SanFrancisco, his heart has always been at U of M. Every alumni knows this and understands why.

I honestly like that Colin is supporting Harbaugh. Colin had one of the most notoriously bad interviews of his career that he cut short with Harbaugh, and he doesn't hold a grudge at all, he really likes Jim I think.
Always like Klatt and Colin together. Really like Klatt, especially after his podcast the other day talking about A & M giving Fisher $76 mil for getting fired. Joel Klatt is so smart. And the Texas thing: Greg McElroy said on his show, and he’s right, that if Texas and Bama are both 12-1 conference champs, Bama jumping Texas is the committee telling everyone that the regular season doesn’t matter. He referenced it happening in 2015 when Sparty beat Ohio State and got in ahead of them, even though we all knew OSU might’ve been the best team in the country. Similar to TCU last year, who had to get in with 1 loss in an extra game, even though we all know they weren’t one of the 4 best teams (even though they still beat Michigan). I bet Bama would pass Texas in that scenario, and that’s a shame.

third week in a row saying this but why is Cowherd's mic faced away from his mouth? It's an Re20 microphone. Have the mic pointed towards Cowherds mouth instead randomly pointed towards the room or give him a different mic. Klatts's voice sounds so much better. This is Cowherd's show, he should be the one that should sound better than everyone else. They must not know how that specific mic receives audio. Why???? It's such an easy fix and every week the mic is pointed towards the open air.

I wish Chip would do better at hiring and firing coordinators. It's so obvious that Chip can't make play calls anymore. He crumbles under pressure. He needs an offensive coordinator, new QB coordinator, better wide receiver coach (sorry Jerry Neuheisel), and a special teams coach that focuses on it. Kicking game has been the worst in the country. Chip puts a 6'4 240lb former QB as a kick returner. If Chip can't hire/fire coordinators I think he can be replaced.
I don't think Klatt has actually watched UCLA much this season, if at all. Chip got completely outcoached in the last two games. And one of those games was against a 2-5 ASU with a rookie coach who had to trot out an injured QB. They lost 5 of their last 6 games last season and they might do the same, or worse, this year.
