This is a video clip in which Morihiro Saito, 9th dan, explains aikido's tai no henko exercise. Tai no henko (body blending) is one of several awase movements taught by Aikido Founder Morihei Ueshiba in each of his classes. This exercise teaches students how to blend with their partners in preparation for the proper execution of ura or turning techniques. Saito Sensei explains both the basic and ki no nagare versions of tai no henko in this video which is fully subtitled. Watch this video to learn the fine points of this essential exercise.
Your next step is to familiarize yourself with the scope of the aikido curriculum by reading the materials available here:

Saito the great master!
Thanks!
so when some one do this tai no henko just let his wrist free and grab the neck?
The moment you let go of his wrist, you got his elbow in your face.
@@LostWonderer So you're saying the moment aiki inevitably fails, they resort to proper striking?
If you grab the wrist in the first place, its because the opponent has a knife in his hand or at his belt and you want to prevent him from drawing... if you let go the hand you're dead.
Non ho mai capito..... perchè ci si ostini tanto con il Tai no Henko ?
Può un maestro fare uno stage sul Tai no Henko?
Sarebbe come fare uno stage alle cinture nere su Ukemi.
