Tbh they’re basically the first death troopers. If you look closely you see that green in their visors and considering their sharp shooting they aren’t exactly regular stormtroopers.
No doubt those that actually managed to show true proficiency would be placed as special forces, including death troopers. The stormtroopers themselves were meant to be merely numbers against an enemy. Basically Stalin tactics. However, these first recruits got culled real quick. First one taken down by Crosshair himself, and then others when they went against Force 99. I don't think Crosshair had more than two, if any, of his original squad by the time he got reunited with 99 on Kamino that last time.

Plot armor is the only reasons the clones were replaced by stormtroopers, as it makes zero sense to transfer the bulk of your army from absolutely loyal clones who have proven to excel in every aspect of warfare, versus stormtroopers whose reliability and capabilities differ massively from person to person

The dissolving of the Senate, the creation of the Death Star, the Empire has repeatedly shown it feels far more comfortable with their population subdued under the threat of force rather than obedient by the promise of loyalty which we've seen, can change at any time. Furthermore, the individuals in this scene clearly served in the Republic military before Order 66, so who's to say they couldn't maintain the bulk of the clone army with volunteer suplements who wished to volunteer. Another point I'd raise is what happened in another dystopian franchise. In the Hunger Games, the most loyal wing of the Capitol, District 2, turned on their overlords when a single person made it abundantly clear that no matter how much more they're given compared to other districts, they are not free. Palpatine would be keenly aware of this at all times, hence the chip in the clones. As for Howzer and how he resisted, I think we need some clarification on how they work because I don't see how one of the most strong-willed clones, who was *aware* of the mechanism controlling him, couldn't stop himself from attacking one of his best friends, yet Howzer was able to resist the chip with very little effort. And even then, you can always make a new batch to improve lol
People keep shitting on this idea, but I like it. I mean, no matter how fast clones are grown, they can't grow enough clones to cover the galaxy, especially since it takes them a decade to fully grow a batch of troopers. That, and you need to make the army more relatable to the populace-having an army of pseudo-Mandalorian ubermenschen running around and being the sole fighting force for the Empire's most recognizable outfit. It's a lot easier for people to swallow having a permanent army running around if, like the Republic SpecForce soldiers in the Old Republic days, they were recruited from the populace, since to them, it's not some ruthless killer from Kamino patrolling the streets, it's little Timmy from the neighborhood, who's now patrolling the very same streets he used to play on as a kid. The clones can continue serving as officers, passing down their experience onto these rookies, but at the same time, getting many fighting-age people into the army keeps many of them fed, clothed, and cared for by the Empire, while lessening the chances of them joining the Rebellion. Tarkin and Palpatine were doing the right thing.
I like the idea Rampart has. Keep producing clones, train them well, to be efficient. Still have legions of clone-only units, and have them do a lot of the heavy lifting for the Empire. Once they’ve seen combat and gotten battle-hardened and experienced, ship them off to train enlisted soldiers, one squad at a time. Eventually, you’ll have clones leading an enlisted army, and with time, they can all be similarly skilled and disciplined, much like the clone army. The clones can promote loyalty and skill in their stormtrooper counterparts, while the stormtroopers bring along their numbers.

Recruits don't have the same promises the clone army does since able humans are rarer to find than having the same advanced human multiplied by billions.
Perhaps pre order 66. But now that their chips have been activated they have lost all of their creative thinking skills. So hiring new recruits that have a free will and can think outside of their training would give them an advantage over the clones.

Dunno about you guys but the animation of those new empire dudes and Tarkin’s kinda reminds me to Rebels. It’s like they made a mix between Rebels and TCW animation in order to make some kind of “breach” between both series. Quite cool if you ask me

Meaning of squad: a small number of soldiers assembled for drill or assigned to a special task. The US Infantry squads consist of 7 to 14 soldiers Russian Infantry consist squads of 6 soldiers Squads can be small or bigger like the 7-14 soldiers like you said
Yeah star wars ranking is SO CONFUSING, because they use the same rank insignia for different ranks, and in some scenes when they cut one moment they're wearing 6 red and the next 3 red and 3 blue!

Yeah it doesn’t really look very long. Infact I think the entire first series all takes place before the scene at the end of Revenge of the Sith where The Emperor, Vader and Tarkin are watching the Death Star being built owing to the fact at that point the venators been stripped of its colour and the officers in the pits on the bridge are no longer clones but just normal people. Plus at the same time Vader is actually out hunting for a Jedi to steal a Lightsaber from to bleed the crystal, as shown in the comics, and the series is concurrent to the events of that, as shown in one of the issues where a clone trooper mentions the shut down facilities to another.
If they kept clones I recon the empire might’ve won yano. If you think about it, the clones who survived and trained the none clones, never really listened and better yet they weren’t very good. No matter the training they didn’t care it was just a job and as long as they were payed and got what they wanted they were happy. That was the problem with the empire. If they kept the clones they’d have more structure and probably better control than the empire had. Then again it took the rebels years before they won the war. But that was mostly Vader winning it.
