I know RIGHT where you're at. The gold is there, but it seems pretty finely disseminated based on past field mortar samples.

Good stuff, getting deep in the woods...Does the charcoal from the burn give you false signals with you detector? Many times I've had charcoal sound off much like gold with my detector. Thanks for any feedback.

once i switched to minelab detectors, i haven't had that issue happen like it did.
