Haven’t watched the whole video but I just have to point out the baby aspirin . I took it throughout the beginning of my pregnancy. I was never told because I’m African American but that’s what they told my niece as well. My thing though is it safe? Why do we have to take it by not other women especially if aspirin links to autism apparently now… So I will tell you Ana to use your own judgement for some things they suggest or even tell us to do. For instance I never got vaccinated while I was pregnant, I refuse the flu shot to my baby, I refused epidural, I acquired my own birth position rather than laying on my back which they will do unless you say otherwise. I’m not saying to do these things but always go with your gut and what you feel is right. My birth was beautiful(I helped pull my baby out)😂 but the doctor insisted my water had not broke beforehand and they poked and poked and I told them something felt wrong I said I think it’s hurting my baby. Nothing at the time was hurting me but I felt his pain and long behold they were poking at his head the whole time with a scalpel and my water had already been broken. He had cuts all over the top of his head😢he’s completely fine and it healed but I just wish I would have spoken up more when I felt like my baby was in pain. SORRY FOR THE LONG STORY LOL 🤣 the morale is lol make sure you advocate for yourself and if not have someone dedicated to do so for you. 🙏🏾❤️ ok ima watch y’all date now love y’all!
I almost cried when I read the part about the scalpel!! That’s horrifying! I hope you went and sued them! Idc idc doctors don’t always know what they are talking about all the time!! My mother had to advocate for me as well just so they didn’t put me on a breathing tube when I was younger. Once your on those it’s not easy to come off of them! You are so right about trusting your gut and literally having to tell them how to do they’re job sometimes!! Thank you for this message and sharing a personal part of your life. Also your a great mama, since reading your experience I will definitely be remembering this when I have kids of my own one day. ❤️
Thank you so much for sharing beautiful!! I believe in what you are saying 100%. You have to go with your gut. At first when the doctor told me to take the aspirin i was against it and figured i would be fine and then i started to do more research and scared myself into taking it so i don’t even know how to feel at this point😫 there’s so much to know and learn with becoming a new mom. Sometimes doctors don’t always know what’s best for you, your story is beautiful and so are you. I’m glad everything worked out, thank you again❤️

I had to take baby aspirin my second pregnancy due to having blood pressure issues with my first pregnancy. It helps prevent the symptoms I had. Also I’m so excited to see your cute lil babe ! You guys will be great parents! I just had my second daughter a week ago! Lmk if you need anything!!

I am a nurse and I work in an OBGYN office. We only give our moms baby aspirin if they have preeclampsia currently which is found through lab work (high blood pressure in pregnancy), hx of preeclampsia or if they have gestational/Type 1/Type 2 diabetes. African American women are at a higher risk for both gestational diabetes and preeclampsia and may be why they put you on it as a preventative measure. Hope this helps ❤️

I'm assuming the aspirin is to prevent pre-eclampsia, which can be common in African American women, but from what my midwife told me is, if you eat 80-100g of protein a day you should be fine. Especially if you don't have any prior history or family history of high blood pressure or pre-eclampsia. Nothing wrong with being precautions though
