Amazing video Shocked that it doesn't have thousands of views already Really well put together! Completely changed my take on what to watch versus read and I think that'll help a lot with enjoying these stories more :)
I think for me Dragonball/Z/Super is the perfect example. I grew up loving Dragonball Z obviously following Frieza, Cell, Buu and the main arcs and pretty much understanding all the lore. But personally now im going to go back and read the Dragonball manga as I can’t remember that fully, just main moments but as I know the voices etc already it’s going to be a lot easier to just reconnect with the Manga straight away! Appreciate this video, I have this question in a lot of stuff recently it’s a tough one!
regarding the manga buying thing. I've bought many and resold many later on(actually making profit) but ultimately decided on the jolly roger flag for reading.
Imo a lot of it comes grom education. In the EU and in France especially, we grew up with both and mangas were easily available in school (usually the first 2 mangas of One Piece, DB, HxH). I 100% disagree on the fact that you take more time reading than watching the anime. Shit is slow af with a lot of exagerated faces, moments and filler content. You said they flesh out the anime but i only see patchwork because they dont have enough to make a full episode. Just because of that, the anime containts much more retcons and false information and it takes a whole longer to complete.
@@TheeBreadShow no but it takes 10-15 mins to finish a manga, we had plenty of time to discover mangas while on break. The US are so focused on TV and they lack reading interest

I didn’t even think about the resale market, that must be wild and profitable for mangas

I start watching anime, i like it, i catch up, i continue by reading manga. Best strategy IMO
Do you go back to watch the anime when that catches up tho👀
@@TheeBreadShow not really. For example when i caught up with one piece, i started reading manga and only watched fight scenes from the anime
