It’s Saturday morning, so you know what that means… It’s time for another EPIC drag race!
Mat’s in the Tesla Model X Performance, and he’s going up against Yianni in his Urus and Mark McCann in his Brabus GLE 850!
Now we’re sure we don’t need to tell you, the stats on all three cars are absolutely out of this world! Starting with the Brabus, it’s powered by a 6-litre twin-turbo V8 that can produce a HUGE 850hp & 1,450Nm of torque! It’s pretty heavy, though, tipping the scales at 2,350kg.
But of course, that’s still a fair bit lighter than the Tesla, weighing in at 2,600kg! It’s pretty powerful, though, with its two motors producing 670hp & 970Nm!
So surprisingly, that means the Lamborghini here is the least powerful! However, not by much, with its 4-litre twin-turbo V8 able to put down 650hp & 850Nm. It’s easily the lightest car, though, at 2,200kg.

Here is a suggestion, you can implement a leader board of all the fastest times of the cars that do the 1/4 mile? Or when you show the time of the 1/4 mile drag race you can mention other cars in that category of how fast they went too?

850hp 1450nm is far too much on the wet even for a all wheel drive car. Not exactly rocket science… My A6 with a puny 4 banger with 420nm can spin at times on the wet

One thing to the Brabus: the 1450 NM mentioned is the potential output of the engine but Brabus limits it to 1000 or 1050nm because of the gearbox. Still they always boast the unrestricted number on each model
Imagine how it would be with a built transmission :D
But 1000nm also more than Tesla and Lamborghini has

@@Youcallthesebagels_ no bruv, have you checked out something like the brabus 900 rocket E class with 900hp it super fast more than even the Amg version of the same model. Rather I think he didn't get an original probably a knock off. Just Google or utube both the G wagon brabus edition as well as the E class to see the results for yourself.

Hello everyone across the 'pond'. I'm from Syracuse, NY. and not really a fan of electric cars, myself having a '85 944 and a '75 Fiat 124 Sport Coupe and An '04 Vibe GT with the best motor of the three. I always liked European cars more than most american ones. But it sure was nice to see the American electric clean house, with little drama, against the gas drinking ones. Matt, you just made it look so easy. Thank you for a great show.

There’s obviously something wrong with that Brabus! 850hp and 1450nm?! It should lunch the others.
It doesn't have 1450nm of torque. That engine can make that figure but it's reduced to 1050 to stop the gearbox eating itself.

I have a 450bhp 1000nm DIESEL X5 the same weight as the Brabus and ive done a 12.4s 1/4 in the wet. Definetely something wrong with it or just poorely managed power through the gearbox.
Pretty sure its the gear ratios or maybe the gear shifts. Or traction control/ESP? Merc is quite over protective when it comes to its ESP (doesn't turn off completely).

@@danishghostrider black box is what insurance offers younger drivers. It monitors your speed, braking, accelerating etc. this is so they can monitor your driving and penalise you or invalidate your insurance if you’re speeding / driving dangerously.
People only use black box insurance because it’s a lot cheaper than regular insurance. But obviously the downside is you have to drive like a pensioner

I don't think he had the settings right on the launch. It started to eat on the roll. Common for mercs actually cause they're usually heavy unless you're in a C class.

The torque isn't 1450Nm, the gearbox on that old merc can't cope with that figure so it's reduced to 1050 but that's only at higher speeds. In first and 2nd gear it's reduced further to closer to 700Nm.

Oh wow. 2022 and EVs even with LESS power beat Brabus monsters easy... Maybe a Porsche Cayenne GT, BMW X5/6 M or a Aston DBX 707 would be make the race... Plaid is another thing of course.
