You both have such loving hearts, the 3 kids you are caring for are blessed to have you in their lives for this time. Praying God's blessings upon you all. Xx
Thank you so much for the videos Lisa and Peter! My brother and his wife have two beautiful children whom they fostered and then later adopted. I have heard some things from their experience, but it is really great seeing your perspective. My husband and I may be open to foster when we are in a better life position to do so later down the road. So, these videos help so much!
Hi, my husband and I are foster parents that just adopted our son from foster care last Friday February 5th. We had him since he was a newborn (4 days old). He is now 2. We struggled with infertility for 7 years until we both decided its not our path and committed to becoming foster parents. I know first hand the pain and heartbreak. We are African American and our son is caucasian. You and Peter are the sweetest couple. God bless you and your family!
I can't get over our similar our mindsets were for the preparation process. We also avoided getting most of the baby things, including a crib, since we don't think it's likely we'll get a baby. We figure with the older kid stuff, every child will grow into it eventually though. We were licensed only a week after you guys, but we're still waiting on our first placement. It's so nice to hear how you have stepped into the roles of mom and dad--it's helping me to mentally prepare and think about things I wouldn't necessarily have thought of. Thanks for taking the time to share this season!
You made the home study seem much less scary than I feel like it would be. Kinda makes me feel better. Still a little nervous but I think we'll be fine. Glad you didn't have covid at this point.
Yeah, it's more an interview of you than it is taking a "white glove" test of the house! I was so worried they find dust somewhere and be like "nope, this isn't clean enough!" 🤪
Hey guys I’ve been all caught up since your last video getting the phone call that you guys were going to be foster parents. I am thank you so much for sharing this journey again with all of us here who are following. It’s so nice to see and hear the perspective from your side from some people do share but not as much as you do and I am going to continue to watch and I agree I think this is something both of you were meant to do you’re going to have from what I do know you’re gonna have a lot of attachment and you’re gonna learn a lot from this. I hope at some point you guys would consider adopting if that was an option for one of whoever you foster in the future but for now I love hearing about your foster children and all the joy and fun that you guys have been having and it’s great to let the children know that they’re in a safe healthy environment that you’re not out to I am being mean or to treat them badly. I say this because I know a lot of foster parents Who are not very nice am I weren’t this through my brother-in-law who was placed in quite a few homes him but then he found his amazing an awesome foster parents who went over and beyond and were amazing but due to the fact that they were moving and wanted to retire but still be so much a part of the foster care system they thought it was best that he stay back and finish high school because where they were moving there wasn’t a whole lot out there as there is today at that time it was basically a community where you were going to retire kind of thing. It all still worked out in the end he keeps in touch with them I am not so much the the other foster parents he might’ve with a few? Here’s my prayers to all of you and I am looking forward to more videos to come in hearing more of your adventures and whatever you have to share.
Thanks for your comment! Our goal as foster parents is to do the first priority and goal of reunification, but if that doesn’t work, then we would be open to adopt any foster placement we say yes to ❤️
I’m so glad I found you guys because I too feel that I’m made to help foster kids along the roughest patch in their lives and love any and all information about fostering. Trigger warning (infant death/ SIDS)... Really TRULY not trying to sound judgemental but I need to let you know that crib bumpers (even “breathable” mesh ones) are not safe for sleep as they pose a strangulation risk. The risk of hurt limbs/ waking up due to a foot being caught etc is so so much less than a child silently suffocating (and yes, it often is entirely silent because they’re unable to breathe). I’m sorry if this is upsetting or contrary to what you’ve been taught but I really encourage you to research it and avoid them for future placements so the risk is low for those little angels in your care. God willing (inshallah) you will spread love and goodness in your journey ❤️
@@HappyHoppe I hope it didn’t sound judgemental at all, that wasn’t my intention. I was only informed by an ER doctor after I had my second. She had seen strangulation personally and was very passionate about it obviously. I can’t wait to watch more updates on your changing family ❤️
I'm a single parent, from the time my baby girl open her eyes to she turned four, had to be the most extreme adventure of life. Sure I had my.....not so good moments and breakdowns along the way, but honestly, I wouldn't trade those moments for the world. Prepare yourselves for many sleepless nights, but if yous going to foster a child from let say five year old? Cheaters😅😅😅😅. Give heaps of love and affection and they'll love you forever👍
Yeah! 😂 I get what you mean about less sleep- our current placement is a sibling group of 3 - ages 7.5, 2.5 and 6 months and it’s a bit nuts with less sleep than normal, but lots of love 💗💗💙
@@HappyHoppe 💜👍 In April, my Daughter and I will be going into another big Adventure, but this one, school is involve😀 God do kids grow up fast these days😊
Just came across your channel! I am a foster parent too. You guys are the sweetest couple. You got this! Work together as a team. 😊

Those kids need friends, not to be isolated. They need to go out and have exoeriences with the rest of the world.
