If that's where I think it is, the off brands are because that was closed after the town was mostly dead. The manager bought what he could with what little money was still coming in, but that pharmacy was in a death spiral long before it was abandoned.
Not off brands it is a Neighborhood Pharmacy and like all places after nafta they got cheap junk from china for the stores. That is what even walmart carried in 2012.
I'm assuming this is Gary, Indiana. Lots of the city are totally abandoned now and it has among the highest crime rates in the country. So it's not a Ghost Town in the Pripyat sense of the term but more in the Ordos City sense of the term - where people still live there but nowhere near as many as are technically supposed to considering the infrastructure meaning entire neighborhoods are abandoned.
Watching videos like this always make me sad. I grew up in a small town. Going back I see places where I have fond childhood memories completely abandoned and run down. A hollow shell of what it was back when it was thriving. It's heartbreaking to think of the lives and memories destroyed by neglect and time. The disregard of so much hard work, dedication and wonderful childhood magic..... left to waste.
The worst part is that these abandoned places are mostly the result of deliberately bad politics. Sick evil corrupt people working towards a common evil. Devil worshippers run the world make no mistake about it but Jesus will return soon but things will grow darker and darker first sadly till He does. It is sad but unfortunately it is written and must come to pass. Stay close to God. God bless all who read this. 🙏❤️☺️
3.84 a pack for Marlboro. The best I can research is around 1993 1995 era. That could tell the time of when this store shut down. Could be because that was around the time that "slick Willie" president of the USA signed the "Free Trade Agreement" (December 8th, 1993, enacted January 1, 1994) into act for trade around the world. Him doing this was the first domino to tip in American culture and society, our businesses, manufacturing, employment, small businesses started to crumble. Thanks Willie. You really done a severe disservice to America by putting that free trade in order. The only ones that benefited from that were of course the politicians and other countries (China, Tiwan, etc.)

About as much sense as saying Reagan was a great president. Wake up friend. Both parties haven't worked for The People, since those same nameless thugs killed Kennedy, and they are running the show now. Biden can't even run his mouth. C'mon
I get not wanting to take stuff but on the other hand it’s sad to see usable stuff go to waste. Certain things could be like donated to homeless or something. Still super cool to see places frozen in time like this
If it's a town that was abandoned due to a toxic plume or some other contamination, who knows - the stuff could be contaminated too. Like Three Mile Island at least in the immediate aftermath, those homes within a certain radius that were initially evacuated, had above acceptable radiation detected so I doubt it would be worth the risk to try to salvage every single thing. Even homeless people wouldn't want to be exposed to poison.
Anything there is junk. Things like hair dies and even soaps & makeup have expiration dates and can be dangerous & even toxic to use when expired. I know an elderly hoarder that used some lotion she had unopened from the 80's. It gave her a nasty rash/chemical burn.

About the 20%off Sale. IF a store was liquidating they would reduce to %50 to 75% off. Most Markup from whole sale is anywhere from 25% to 65% profit for Retail Items. The 20% off still allows for profit so it looks like they didn't even have time to try and liquidate their stock. It also looks like they tried to gather the most valuable items first. I wonder if you're able to find old newspaper articles about why the town was forcibly closed. thanks for sharing,
I don’t remember the last time I’ve seen a Pharmacy sell Cigarettes at least here in Canada. It wouldn’t be a sinkhole, since the basement is intact. Finding an expiry date, would give an idea on how long it’s been abandoned.
2009! At least in Alberta, I started working for Shoppers in the summer of 2008. And that's around when we had to start hiding them. 6 months later the law kicked in and we stopped selling them.
good point. I worked at a pharmacy just like the one in the video in 2000-2002 and it was during that time that they removed the cigarettes from behind the counter. That was in Connecticut, so it probably isn't much different in this video. I get a 90s or maybe early 2000s vibe from the merchandise.

It's crazy too, seeing the name "Good Neighbor Pharmacy" because I work in a hospice pharmacy, and a lot of the meds we get from our wholesaler are that specific brand. So it isn't like that company went out of business completely or anything.
I remember driving through a town like this in Oklahoma , most of the houses and businesses were abandoned, like everyone left overnight. At that town there was mining and many of the mine shafts were dug underneath the town and the town was collapsing into the mine. Several streets had signs warning people to stay out due to danger of collapse.

You'd mentioned might have had a sale. If I'm not mistaken there was a "sale" sandwich board towards the registers and sunglasses at the front of the store. So I definitely think you're right. I also totally agree with you about taking stuff from places like this. Due to its overall general condition why would you want to? You'd probably grow a second head from that vintage, off brand hair dye if you tried to use it. Plus if you took stuff (and if everyone else took stuff when they explored) there would be very little left to make videos like this so amazing. I personally love a good time capsule. A+ for sure! How did it smell in there, by the way? Looks like a lot of water damage in places. Do you know if the second floor below (where the caved in floor was) was part of the pharmacy too? Or if it was another store? Or storage of some kind? Makes me wonder if there was a way down (aside from the obvious, haha). As usual, thanks for the high quality video. How these don't have roughly a bajillion likes is so far beyond me, but I'm going to keep commenting on them until they do!
If your business gets liquidated you often have to leave the items there because your bank hopes for something of falue. Then they see, that they will only get cheap rubber bands and picture frames - not worth moving one finger 😂
Wow! I wouldn't be able to leave for days. I'm in the UK but I would say it looked like it shut down 20 + years but you did find paper work with later dates on so its just decayed quickly. Cigarettes in a pharmacy? Never happen over here. Great video, you must get a rush finding these sort of places. Stay safe.
Looks as if the building was condemned due to structural deterioration, and they did not have the money to upgrade so with little time to leave, they left most of it behind.
@@ravenbloodommo Gary Indiana is a shell of what it once was, but it's far from abandoned. I'm surprised no one from the T Mobile store (attached and literally on the other side of the north wall) didn't hear them and call the police.

This store is actually on the corner of two main streets. I wouldn't call this place a "ghost town" but there's a whole bunch of abandoned neighborhoods and lots of blight.
Honestly, with the housing "shortage," part of me wonders just how much of that could be solved if we started reviving ghost towns like this. Yes they would take a lot of work, especially if they had been abandoned since the 90s, but it would probably still be easier and cheaper than building a new house, and if it isn't, you can always demolish it to build a new house. As for jobs, there can probably be a host of start-up businesses, the internet allows for remote work, and if there is a population, you can bet Walmart or Walgreens will make a store there if there are enough people.
A person experienced in NBC/ CBR can tell people didn't know the truth about chemical and other contamination if they left all that behind. I am surprised it hasn't been picked clean by those wander onto it.
First time I'm posting a comment on one of your videos, the reason I like watching them is because you have respect for other people's belongings. Great video!
They likely could not pay people to haul it to the "needy" the business would then be at risk if anything was bad and could end in a law suit over donating items. Yes people sue places that donate items so people stop donating items.
Haha “you can see it’s been abandoned for so long the rubber bands have melted” Ah no rubber bands do not melt on their own, they melt from heat, ie like the heat from a fire. I like watching these videos because it reminds me that I’m not as dumb as I thought.
I don't think it's crazy at all.. 90% of the businesses go bankrupt, and usually the City's or Municipality's take it over.. Seen it happen many times,Kmart and Zellers abandoned malls are another story..😮😮😮
Everything is rotting away I’d probably take something. In my opinion it’s not stealing, that shit is not owned by anyone. You couldn’t pay someone if you wanted.
Got a question to ask, do you ever take anything as a souvenir to remember the place you’ve been and do you ever search around to see if you do find anything of value
You said gas tanks those are actually sharps containers they are used for old needles and such for ppl who have to inject daily. Whether it be insulin or such.
Honestly I really want to know what the hell happened to this town because nobody just abandons a store like that, they usually pick up the belongings and stocks
For anyone that is wanting to know the approximate time of when this building closed it closed around 2008. the drink cooler solved the date those Arizona energy drinks came out around 2008 13:22
I'm sorry it has no real selling value all that goes in a dumpster. If you can't sell it it goes to a landfill and ocean. People and banks ect. only care where the real money is at, everything else is garbage.
Oh my gosh. I don't think I've ever seen so much stuff left behind. You look at it ,and I feel sorry for the person who owned it. Something big to just leave everything behind, like they had to get out fast or something. Would love to know the story. It reminds me of something a movie is made of.
The cigs and more valuable items were probably emptied out before closing down. The money more than likely wasn't stolen but cashed out at closing. Sad sight.
You need to look at the exp date on some of the products to be able to tell how long it has been abandoned. I agree that it would be dumb to steal anything. That is one of the things that is wrong with the world.
Ive always respected explorers that leave everything where it is. No matter if its a pair of shoes, a dollar bill, whatever it is. To leave things where they were, that shows appreciation for the place and the past history of it.
There are many places like this also in France and Germany, abandoned towns and places where there are things that have remained there for more than 20/25 years, a step back in time to visit these places there, and to see these old things which are still practically new despite the time that has passed. - It was more of a small hardware and grocery and pharmacy supermarket.
Stringer media mentioned that it’s dumb too”steal”from place like this…If i grab 50,$1 items and sell them…i will have $50 dollars in my pocket…i don’t know if Stringer Media was fed with a silver spoon but i wasn’t..a dollar is a dollar player…an it’s not dumb like you said,it’s a FACT…🤝✌️
wow, this is a pharmacy near downtown gary. i’ve driven past it everyday for years now on my way home from work, always wondered what was inside. not sure how that envelope from 2008 is in there. place has been closed long since before i was born
That building is heated with a steam boiler and at some point suffered a leak in the system filling the space with 300 degrees steam. Paint will peel, tiles will expand, mold will grow, and ceilings/floors will collapse.
@@JAKASHA420 What is the definition of abandoned? The sole definition of theft and abandonment are totally incompatible. Neither is trespassing..morally or legally. That's where the word salvage comes into play.
At common law, a person who finds abandoned property may claim it. To do so, the finder must take definite steps to show their claim. For example, a finder might claim an abandoned piece of furniture by taking it to their house, or putting a sign on it indicating their ownership. According to U.S. law, property that is left behind by a tenant is typically assumed to be abandoned after a specific timeframe. This timeframe can be anywhere between one week and one year. If the property remains unclaimed during this timeframe, it may be disposed of, or sold.
Did it? I can’t see that and I have watched it 5 times but not saying it didn’t that’s for sure. Cool catch though for anyone that can see it. I’ll keep watching it a few more times but I don’t see it. I see when he pans the camera that the pan of the camera gives a move effect but what does everyone else see? I’m curious for sure and if you can point out more detail that may help me and anyone else struggling to see it as well. Take care and again cool find. ❤🙏🏼😉 Ekee Mae Ea!
So actually there is a lot of things that arent off brand. However the labeling is really dated. Id say that place closed around the early 2000s. That bundle of papers with newer dates was probably brought in some time later from somewhere in my opinion.

1995 unopened base set shadowless pokemon blister is worth several thousand dollars a pack one of the first things I would look for
this is amazing! would there be expiration dates on the back of the hair dye? might give an idea how long it's been abandoned.
If your business gets liquidated you often have to leave the items there because your bank hopes for something of falue. Then they see, that they will only get cheap rubber bands and picture frames - not worth moving one finger 😂
Gary Indiana. Sad what them folks did to that city.
"Them folks." And OP loves your racism too. Idiots.
That's crazy! It would be interesting to know the back story to why it was abandoned. Great find! Thanks for sharing!
No real research. Clickbait?
Not abandoned its Gary Indiana
Alot of it would have been because of bigger stores like Walmart, Kmart, CVS, Rite Aid, etc that people started shopping at
You can google the newspaper article I leave more clues in my comment. It was end of June 2012.
@@joeyj1489is it in Gary ? Just wondering no plans on visiting .
Stay safe.
Pharmacy is just part of the store it would have sold a variety of things. Closed end of June 2012.
Looks as if the building was condemned due to structural deterioration, and they did not have the money to upgrade so with little time to leave, they left most of it behind.
that and you cant make any money and live without a post office and active city hall ect, in a growing ghost town sad.
@@ravenbloodommo Gary Indiana is a shell of what it once was, but it's far from abandoned. I'm surprised no one from the T Mobile store (attached and literally on the other side of the north wall) didn't hear them and call the police.
Awesome video mate. Really interesting to see this sort of stuff. Got a bit anxious for a second when you got near that sinkhole. These places can be dangerous AF. Did you find anything interesting that didn't make it on to the video?
Awesome job on this exploration!
TO STRINGER IT's GARY INDIANA EVERYBODY I hope the needy people can get those barrettes they have been needing. and trust me Stringer is there illegally trespassing without permission did you see them loot those bullets btw??
I'm sure they didn't leave cash in the register. Lmfao. Clearly no junkies have found that place yet if there was still needles there.
I'm surprised scrappers haven't stripped the metal shelves and stuff yet.
I was a pharmacy broker and have sold over 250 pharmacies in a span of 50 years. There is no excuse for this type of happening. Also Bergen who runs Good Neighbor-where were they.?A lot of people dropped the ball,
Sure is a lot of traffic outside for a ghost town
Right!
This store is actually on the corner of two main streets.
I wouldn't call this place a "ghost town" but there's a whole bunch of abandoned neighborhoods and lots of blight.
@YouveBeenMiddled still a great video and I love yalls stuff
@@StringerMediawhere is this?
Thanks again for the video!! Keep it up bud!! Awesome 👏🏻
did you see them loot those bullets
Understandably but I mean if somebody left them and they're never coming back what's the big deal
There's theft and then there's salvage
This all just goes to show that most people don't care about the needy. All that stuff wasting away.
I agree. But in the end it all still belongs to the people that own it and they have to be willing to give it the needy.
@@mizginas or be forced to give it , just like it should be with all wealthy people.
They likely could not pay people to haul it to the "needy" the business would then be at risk if anything was bad and could end in a law suit over donating items. Yes people sue places that donate items so people stop donating items.
@@badgerpa9 are you talking about spoiled food items?
Haha “you can see it’s been abandoned for so long the rubber bands have melted”
Ah no rubber bands do not melt on their own, they melt from heat, ie like the heat from a fire.
I like watching these videos because it reminds me that I’m not as dumb as I thought.
Man i could really use one of those clear display cases..
"I think somebody stole all the money", yeah, because every business owner leaves the register full of cash before they abandon their store.
I know. Some strange remarks like "melted rubber bands" from the aging processes
Just to warn others. If people took anything from there, the items are probably way expired and could cause major issues like chemical burns or worse
When you panned to the window and those cars passed, my jaw dropped. I straight up thought you were in the woods, not a active town. 😮
Gotta be abandoned in the 90s. That "Power Pad Pro" or that kids toy "pre-laptop" 😂 came out in'94, and i had one. I was born in '92.
Anything that is salvageable should be donated to charities and poor people, instead of letting it rot.
That is so frustrating to see. I just saw full section of medical supplies I need, and it's just going to waste.
You know it's no more safe in this condition 🤔
@@Irilia_neko What I was referring to is sealed
Got a question to ask, do you ever take anything as a souvenir to remember the place you’ve been and do you ever search around to see if you do find anything of value
they always do did you see them loot those bullets lol
You said gas tanks those are actually sharps containers they are used for old needles and such for ppl who have to inject daily. Whether it be insulin or such.
Thank you for amazing content like this one!!!
So the hair care products were all name brand….. Good video! I’m amazed how they just left everything. As if in a hurry.
Im somewhat amused to see that the pharmacy is called Good Neighbor, just like from Fallout 4.
Yeah you're right. That's look really like Fallout ^^
Amazing video! Could do a Zombie movie in there..🧟🧟🧟♂🧟♂
Like how all the school supplies were left untouched
No one in that neighborhood had any use for that.
I'm sorry it has no real selling value all that goes in a dumpster. If you can't sell it it goes to a landfill and ocean. People and banks ect. only care where the real money is at, everything else is garbage.
Pretty bad when generations no longer even know what something as simple as a gas can is. Just amazes the shit out of me
🤔
bro what, im 17 we know what a gas can is lmfao
You could do a thousand things right, and people will still point out the one thing you did wrong. Unbelievable
@@StringerMedia You called it a gas tank.
@@Benevito-yt ☺😀😁😂

Oh my gosh. I don't think I've ever seen so much stuff left behind. You look at it ,and I feel sorry for the person who owned it. Something big to just leave everything behind, like they had to get out fast or something. Would love to know the story. It reminds me of something a movie is made of.
If the town is in Illinois, I wouldn’t be surprised.
Gary Indiana. He forgot to tell us.
@@jaysmith179 He wants to keep stuff for himself, did you see them loot those bullets?
The cigs and more valuable items were probably emptied out before closing down. The money more than likely wasn't stolen but cashed out at closing. Sad sight.
You need to look at the exp date on some of the products to be able to tell how long it has been abandoned. I agree that it would be dumb to steal anything. That is one of the things that is wrong with the world.
Oh don't worry the bank doesn't want anything, this is nothing of value to them in these places, they just throw it all in a dumpster.
You couldn't see that the roof was leaking which caused the floor to rot away and collapse. LOL SINKHOLE!!!
Thank you for this great video! I guessed the 1990s.
you are so lucky to find this!
oF COURSE HE IS DID YOU SEE THEM LOOT THOSE BULLETS?
Cool video. didnt you check for expiration dates on the products? That could give you an idea when it closed
That building is heated with a steam boiler and at some point suffered a leak in the system filling the space with 300 degrees steam. Paint will peel, tiles will expand, mold will grow, and ceilings/floors will collapse.
The owners would never leave with it like this ...this my friend this is the work of opportunistic looters, some probably were caught mid loot
I so badly wanna know where this is! I am nosy & love to find out how/why places became abandoned… my fav rabbit hole
Can't steal something that's already been abandoned.
Abandoned but still owned by somebody. Theft is theft no matter how you try to justify it. Trespassing is still illegal.
Wow that's alot of stuff too find 😮
Excellent upload!!
It's truely amazing I love abandoned places there story and what lies in with them.❤
No masks or protection gear at all, huh? Inna town that was deserted in a hurry? Is that.... Smart?
“There’s no name brand stuff in here.” *walks past a suave product hahaha
Hey, did the blue recycling trash can move by itself? It looks to turn on its own, at 4:22

Ekee Mae Ea!
those school supplies should have been donated
How Do You Find These Places? I'm Just Really Interested Because Your Find Some Really Awesome Places! Much Support
Wow this is such a great find!!!
So actually there is a lot of things that arent off brand. However the labeling is really dated. Id say that place closed around the early 2000s. That bundle of papers with newer dates was probably brought in some time later from somewhere in my opinion.
What's going on with Illinois? Why all the abandoned towns?
I grew up in a small town called Nelsonville, and since then I've watched the town both build up and close down. Last I went through the state route wasn't even open they had it routed around a few of the old now shut down gas stations. It's sad to see
The only thing it's known for is the Rocky boot factory that hasn't made boots since I was a kid, manufacturing got moved from there to Mexico somewhere, and of course the good old prison, which is also small
good neighbor pharmacy huh? Fallout Vibes.
IKR LOL@YOU
Definitely interested in the town itself too
