Great video! We love Brimfield, been going for a few years now with our Corgi and Boston Terrier. Posted a Brimfield Guide a few weeks back as well on my channel, good to spread the word about this great show!
Thanks! Before going to Brimfield, I watched all the TH-cam videos I could find. If other people are like me and like to do research before attending a market, I'm sure they appreciate our Brimfield content. 🙂
My first thought about the situation is " there are mentally unstable people in the world'. His screaming at you could be a clue to his poor mental health. My second thought was that some of his merchandise could be stolen or otherwise acquired in a shady way. lol. You never know! Sounds like you handled it well.
Hi, just watched this - love your videos- I’m a art restoration artist and I thought I’d give you a tip _ the nude with the loose canvas can be restored if the canvas back is open( not covered by paper) you can take a wet sponge and wipe the canvas to dampen it and as it dries the fibers will tighten up again- do not soak or allow water to penetrate through the canvas to the paint - moisten just enough to moisten the canvas fabric- take care
Hi Megan! Watched your videos before you made this trip, and really like them. I'm one of the vendors who had something you liked. 😊 I don't remember you there or asking for a lower price. Most of us will consider offers/haggling AND offer discounts for buying multiple items. You are quite correct about the end of the shows being the best times to find deals on leftovers. Also, if you see something that seems pricy and the other vendors' items are not, it's usually because we paid more for those items. Anyway, thanks for coming and doing this video!
Hi Cynthia, I’m so excited to hear from you! I love that I was in your booth and found something I liked, that’s so cool! I don’t know if I approached you with an offer, I may have reached my budget and mental limit at that point in the day. Thank you for sharing your insider knowledge. I hope to see you in the future! ☺️
Thank you, Sheree. A couple other people suggested some solutions as well. I'll add yours to my list. TBH, I'm a little afraid that I'll try to fix it and accidentally make it worse. 😬 Wish me luck! 🤞
Hello from Philadelphia!! New sub here. Loved seeing Brimfield, but can you imagine hauling all of that stuff?????!!!!! Coconut is a sweetheart. Have been an antique dealer for 53 years, but my available funds never warranted a trip to Brimfield!! Much luck to you! Lawrie.
I moved the video to a slow speed so that I can enjoy all the products before they disappear, just like being there, although it is disruptive the talk in the video but it's worth it I wish all the thrift channels would film in slow motion so we could get an impression of the products
Thank you so much for this video.. trip down memory lane. I have been both a seller and a buyer at Brimfield, but it’s been a few years! And forget about the screaming dealer..this business drives us all a bit nuts! Oh, and take a hair dryer to the back of the nude, it will tighten the canvas.
That is my understanding as well. However, if you are featured in material used for advertising purposes, you should be compensated. All of that said, I try not to film people’s faces out of respect for their privacy.
Smart move "not getting in back of truck" I was thinking "don't do it>!!! Enjoyed your video---think I will go next year!!! Haven't been there in years!!
What you call a slippery bucket, the original ones were used for hauling coal. Lots of reproductions made in the 1950s in Holland of copper with "Delft" handles.
Is the brass coal shuttle a smaller version? I thought they were larger. I imagine some venders would appreciate one asking before filming, perhaps they aren’t aware of we couch potatoes who enjoy visiting from home😊. Most are probably more aware of social media. Thanks for sharing your visit to Brimfield, I’ve heard about it for years! Pottery and paintings are my favorite.
Yes, I think it’s a coal shuttle. I’ve seen them in different sizes. Many of the vendors had unmarked booths, I tried to show signs if I saw them so that you could look up the business if you liked their merch. You’re welcome, thanks for watching!
I think your copper piece is a coal shuttle. Coconut is such a sweet baby girl and such a well mannered lady❤ Sorry you had to run into a grumpy Gus, maybe he didn't have his prunes that morning. Loved watching and looking forward to more.
My mother and I had a cart and were just fine. Earlier on one would stand with the cart and wonder around the area near the cart. Eventually, we got to a point where we could walk away from it both. If you bring a blanket and cover your goodies, it's unlikely anyone will go it.
That is good to hear! I felt like I couldn't handle keeping track of a cart because I already had my hands full with Coco and Ed. He tends to wander off when he hears the siren sound of old record albums. lol.
All that man needed to do was ask you not to film, that was bad form on his part. I was wondering if some measured flat board behind your canvas would bring the dent out 🤔 just a thought. Thanks for sharing :)
It was very aggressive, but it was the only issue I had so, that’s good. Good idea about the flat board. If it bothers me too much, I’ll look into fixing it. Thanks for the tip!
It doesn't really matter if it hurts or helps his business; the point is, you resected his wishes to have you stop filming. That is what is important. Some people just don't like their world to be filmed. Some states allow for photos and video in public events and venues.
Hey Casey! I don't remember seeing any UPS or Fed Ex booths AT Brimfield, but I did a quick search and there are Fed Ex and UPS shipping locations in nearby towns like Sturbridge. I saw that you are from Texas, have you been to the Roundtop Antique Market?
Wow, you scored on those paintings! As for the rude booth guy, he's just ridiculous & his behavior is very ungentlemanly to say the least, yes its free advertising for him and he should welcome it😮
Thank you, I agree the paintings were great finds! Re: "rude booth guy". Lol. I was shocked at first, and then I was confused because I thought it would be free advertising as well.
Hello Megan. I enjoy your videos and little Coco. I believe your scullery bucket is a coal scuttle, perhaps English? Not sure if it’s a reproduction of an English one? Might be misshapen because it was used for coal. Could also be a reproduction of a Dutch bucket as it has a Delft style ceramic (not porcelain) handle. If it’s original for $10 that was a steal so well done. 👍 😊
Hey Alison, I'm glad you enjoy my videos and Coco! Thank you for watching. ☺ I appreciate the info about the coal scuttle. I tried researching it, but I wasn't confident in what I found. I think the info you provided will point me in a better direction. Thanks again!

Ugh, I'd love to go to Brimfield. Having a hard time figuring out the logistics of how I could get there and bring back my treasures as I live in Georgia.
Bring a collapsible wagon. Until you buy a lot of stuff, it can be thin'iah on rollers. I used to bring a squirt bottle for cart diggers/thieves at flea markets 😆 they were shocked, but I was shocked at their rudeness, lack of boundaries. You handled that well, the man should be ashamed of himself. So nasty.
@@surpriseitsus9622 I'm sorry to hear that it was so bad that you stopped going. That being said, staying home with your dogs 🥰 I know how great that can be.
In the age where anyone can buy access to Worthpoint and the like , the vendors should expect customers to video their work. There's not a chance that he will win the lawsuit. He needs to get with the program or retire from retail.
Ive never tried to authenticate art, so I don’t know how that works, but I know Brimfield is a public event. The organizers seem to encourage people to make videos and take photos. 🤷♀️
Love the original art work!!! What a wonderful deal! Love the zoomies!!
We all did so well this time, I’m hooked! Thanks for watching ☺️

low setting iron with towels either side and protecting it will get the bump out to the painting.

I’ll be looking for them at the next one 🙂

Hi there, Welcome! Thanks for watching and subscribing! 🙂
Try using a hair dryer on the backside of your canvas art to tighten the weak areas. Thanks for the trip to Brinfield. That was fun!
You are SO welcome, thanks for watching and for the tip!

When you are in public, you have no expectation of privacy. Filming is your right.
That is my understanding as well. However, if you are featured in material used for advertising purposes, you should be compensated. All of that said, I try not to film people’s faces out of respect for their privacy.
You can spray a little water behind the painting and it will help staining up the canvas
Thank you!
Autocorrect 😝 it will help tighten the canvas 😊👍❤️
@@Arnhildnilsen haha, I figured!
Love your channel. I have a smaller scullery bucket that I just pulled out to decorate with for fall. I love it. Yours is great too!
Thanks, Alison! And thanks for watching. I don't know how I will use my bucket yet. It is currently holding my recycling. 😂
Doesn’t matter why he didn’t want to be filmed, it’s his right not to be. End of story.
Absolutely!
I definitely agree but there is certainly a way to be decent about it. If you want respect, you also need to be respectful.
Not sure about america but in uk if your out in public there are no protections against being filmed
@@mummaki5169 Pretty sure that's how it works here too.
But you don’t have to be disrespectful about it
I think it is beautifull!
Love the scuttle bucket! For some reason mine is painted black…dammit when and why did I do that???
Love this flea market live about an hour from it went this fall awesome weather

At 18,46 in the film I saw a doll. She had a (bunad) national dress from northern Norway 🇳🇴where I live. ❤

I think you'd have to make it a road trip so you could fill your car with treasures.
The prices are high you can get the she stuff or better in Georgia or nearby honestly. Lots of hype about Brimfield.
Every body here at Reningers which is huge brings carts. No one steals anything. Then again it is the South.
Isn't it customary to seek permission before starting filming 🤔
That's just courtesy. 🤷♀️
I watch a couple that do this in Europe and they ask at almost every stall.

Smacks of entitlement
Why would anyone go to this place and walk away empty handed. Senseless waste of time. Go and spend.
