I got mine before release day and have over 400 miles on mine….no rolled ankles….just cushion and good traction… my go to for Tahoe 200…I think people forget that not every trail runner is going out to run fast and need a shoe for that…. I go out for time on feet and extra cushion is much appreciated
@@kofuzi I only found your channel in 23 and it's why I keep coming back. Reviews often sound very similar in their wording and for me it's only when you compare it to other shoes that I might have tried can I really imagine how it they might actually feel. In this case comparing vs the Hoka.
Haven't seen any shoe reviewers mentioning this: The pull tab on More Trail v3 also serves the purpose of keeping laces in place. Once you tie the laces, the pull tab would be separated into 2 sections. You pull the lower section loose and tuck the laces under. Then you pull the upper section so the lower section of the pull tab tightens down and holds the laces securely. Nike Pegasus Trail 4 GTX also has this design.
The Fresh Foam More Trail V3 actually uses 2 different density of Fresh Foam! The top layer ( green color ) is the soft Fresh Foam we all love, but the white layer is a bit firmer. New Balance said they did it so that the shoe was stable on the trails
it wasn't clear to me whether the road version also had the comolded foam process, so I couldn't say for sure whether that was the slight firmness difference I was feeling
This one is interesting...not my favorite for running trails, and a bit clunky on the uphills, but they're surprisingly fun (and stable) when bombing the downhills. And they come in wide sizes which actually fit my wide feet. They may become my go-to for backpacking this season.
@@paulmulks I don't notice too much clunkiness at all, but definitely the TM2 would give me pause if I had weak ankles. It's a stomper, really fun, and a fun road-to-trail choice too.
These are wonderful shoes. Used to run my trails in nike Pegasus goretex trails - switched to these abd the difference us vast. These are far softer, feel lighter and they're more responsive/faster. 10/10 from me.
These are some outstanding shoes. Maximum level of comfort but it misses a little on stability. I have never worn something more comfortable on trails. However, it doesn't have very good grip on harsher terrains. Salomon's Contagrip with the 5mm lugs on the Thundercross is way better. But I admit that these are just something else, 9.5/10 🤌🏼
When I look at the Fresh Foam Trail More V3, the fist shoe that comes to mind is the Brooks Caldera 6. Maybe even the Hoka Stinson 6's. I'm guessing both of those shoes'll see an upgrade this year.
I had Brooks calderas (mainly because they were cheap). These are far, far better IMO. Very, very responsive and light despite the size. The Calderas felt very clunky and heavy.
@@kofuzi That's great to hear. I'm close to retiring my Lone Peaks. The Trail v3 might be my next consideration since I'm already used to the More v4 ride. Thanks, Mike.
question you should explore in the future mr. kofuzi: Why do the vast majority of trail shoes have a lower drop, generally of 4mm or below? Does it have something to do with going uphill and downhill? thanks michael
So it's not GORE-TEX. I own regular More v4 and like it a lot, but I am guessing that lack of stability eventually becomes an issue with many of those super high stack running shoes and the current trend of "more stack" will halt at some point in the very near future. I think things are going a bit extreme right now. Thanks for the review.

Truly one of my favorite TH-camrs out there! I love the mashups with Believe in the Run. Just wondering why you're putting the BLM on all of Strava? I'm not a raging conservative by any means. But, Ko, haven't you seen the values that BLM was based off? Destroying the nuclear family, and the founders, how corrupt they are (10 Million gone)? And then the violence they have incurred on poor neighborhoods? BLM seems to be desiring divide, and not growth for the black community. Again, I'm not a raging conservative, or mad at Ko. Just wanted to make sure you knew what you were representing on Strava. Now to Black Lives Matter? ABOSLUTELY. Just the organization as a whole is super corrupt. Two Cents spent!
I tried these, and found them to be oversized and a bit too wide vs the More v3 road shoes I have. Very comfortable, but so tall I'd be concerned about rolling my ankle. I'm going to see if I can get them in 0.5 size down. I ordered them in 11.5 just lik emy More v3, but they're noticeably larger, maybe to accomodate a super thick sock. The only thing that seems weird to me is the heel collapses pretty easily. So I guess it's good for heel strikers, but it make the shoe feel less stable to me.
If you’re looking for a road update to your More v3, I’d recommend the More v4. Or if you’re looking for a trail version of your More v3, I’d look at the More Trail v2. New Balance is really trolling us with their numbering conventions
I don't run as many trail miles as I do road miles, so it takes me a bit longer to get through trail reviews. but it's on my list. NB sent a pair along with the More Trail 3
Thanks for the review ! I enjoyed the more trail V2, but found them to feel a bit heavy and not breathable, which kept me from using them for very long trails (15h and +). Any improvement on that ? Otherwise I find the Mafate 4 still a bit more versatile.

Thanks for the review. Out of curiosity, what are those tights you are wearing in some of the footage? Not the black ones but the more dark purple brown ones? Been looking for something similar.
I have three pairs of the trail V2 but they have one problem. Stones and nuts etc can become embedded in the softer part of the sole.Digging into your feet and then creating a hole for more stuff. Have they fixed this with the V3?

Hello. Can I get advice from you for city tours and walking? Assuming that I can take an average of 20-30 thousand steps per day in cities for trips abroad, would you recommend this shoe? I am looking for a shoe that will make me feel less tired as much as possible and increase my desire to walk. I like the Fresh Foam X More Trail v3 or v2 looks. do you think that's what i'm looking for?
I used my standard more v.3 for running (690 km/ 430 miles) and for walking at work (440 km/ 270 miles) so it has 1.130 km/ 700 miles in total....sometimes they feel dead so i plan to change them. Do you think this trail version will last longer? Also given my mileage is normal for a max cushion to not reach 1.500km? I'm 73 kg.
I think the first thing to note is that I do not consider it typical for a shoe to last 1500km, and I do not evaluate them on such a criteria. With that being said, I think there are too many permutations in my mind as to what you may or may not consider acceptable conditions of wear for what you are doing in the shoe, both in terms of running (trail shoes used for mainly road running tends not to lend itself to longevity of the treads) and what you're doing at work. So ultimately, I don't know how to answer this question for you in a way that you would find helpful.
@@kofuzi Actually your response helped me. Like other you confirmed that 1.500 km are unreasonable expectation, even for high stack shoe...also using them for work shortened their life more than i thought but i didn't had alternatives.
