HAHA. Honestly, my mom's people have lived in Atlanta for 6 generations. We have quite a few cases of this that happened during the sharecropping times. Hillbillies did not do it as much. Imagine if Reba and Dolly were running for president
It's like she's an actress up there in a Broadway show, she's taking you on a journey through the story of the song, but she adds pure emotion to it that elevates the impact of the words. I think it's awesome. She wore black but it had nothing to do with anything.
She's having the time of her LIFE in this performance. The audience was awesome too. When she revealed her gorgeous long red hair & dress, the crowd went nuts! She is definitely one of the best artists of ALL time.
This was a bit different from what my sister told me Reba did, when she did. She told me that Reba revealed that red dress after the line, "Well, I might have been born just plain white trash, but Fancy wasn't my name!"
@@mr.intensity2685 She performed it this way for several years, and she definitely made tweaks along the way (sometimes more than tweaks). There are a couple of variations on this performance on TH-cam.
Yes we all loved the theatrics in her shows. When ask why she dudnt do the 20 costume changes and all, she replied that she felt like she could spend more time during her shows relating to the people. Personally I think she got tired of it and she needed a change and her life has been going in so many directions over the last decade or so that she strayed from the country roots she had implanted in the world to explore the Television, Movies, Broadway etc. I would love to see the theatrics back in her shows as well, maybe someday.
Glad I know she stopped them. I'd seen her before she did and was thinking it was time to see her again... Not if the "Reba" stuff is gone though. No thank you.
@@mntdewboy please go see her. She may not do the large productions you are familiar with but nonetheless, she's Reba and I promise you will enjoy her concert still.
@@scottmyrick4812 they were awesome. With all the costume changes and the lights and effects on the stage changing as well. Reba McEntire is the reason why I became a country music fan she’s a great ambassador to this music. What a woman what a lady what a talent she can sing while talking I remember her brother had song the night the lights went out in Georgia that’s the night the kill innocent man.
The music industry needs to show this video to all the new females singers... You don't need all the gimics and the you don't need to be half naked, if you have legit talent all you need is your voice on stage... Reba is just the queen of class
" Fancy " is a song written and recorded by Bobbie Gentry in 1969. The country song was a crossover pop music hit for Gentry, reaching the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100 (her second and final solo single to do so) and the top 30 of the Billboard country chart. This song was recorded at Fame Studios- Muscle Shoals with Producer Rick Hall.
What's great about Reba singing is she makes you feel like she's singing directly to you, she somehow makes it feel personal, it's like she's singing a private conversation she's having with you to you.
Geez, show some love for the amazing, rockin band. Without the band, there is no music, so they put them behind things where you can't see them, nice. The band killed it. That intro is out of this world as is their entire playing.
You have your music artist. And then there is Reba .. almost 30 years later in 2022 she still doesn't disappoint. Saw her live in Springfield Mo February 2022 and she was amazing. Along with a full arena. Impressive at her age. A true entertainment talent.
This woman was and STILL is so incredibly beautiful and talented. She’s a true performer and has the incredible voice to go with it! I don’t listen to any modern country because it’s all crap, but when I get in a country mood I listen to her and all the other greats from years passed and let me tell ya, there’s never been anyone better. Hands down the QUEEN of country music, bar none!
I remember when I was a little kid in in the early 90s and my parents went to a Reba concert for a date night and always told stories about how amazing it was and the big fancy dress reveal. Really cool to be able to see some part of it now as an adult. ❤️ Reba
It was amazing to follow her career from her embryonic days doing fairs and small stages while on a bus with just her band to becoming this major performer with 12 semis needed to carry it all and her flying to a show in her Saberliner. I met her once back in the 90s when she still did her meet n greets. I can honestly say her beauty took my breath away.
RIP Brent Wayne Stallion. You knew her. Met her backstage at concert!!!!!! You are my angel high in the sky!!! Its ok Brent. Kenny Chesney is gonna make sure I am ok. Man Reba you are awesome!
She performed at the Rosemont Horizon in October of 1990 and did this song with the cab delivery and red dress .. my son who was only 12 and my husband were both drooling when she revealed the dress.
This was DEFINITELY from 1995 tour I remember it was my 1st concert ever i was like 11yo.. ANYBODY know what city this was?? Reminds me of Cleveland, Ohio
I am pretty sure this was 1995 because I saw her three tours in a row, and in 1994 she made her entrance in the white dress with tassels and sang "Respect", in 1995 she made her entrance in the cab singing "Fancy", and in 1996 she made her entrance in her jet after her whole band came out of the taxi cab to fool everyone into thinking she was gonna get out of it again that year. She had her dancers dress as flight attendants and airport crew directing her jet as she came out singing "Why haven't I Heard From You?". That was the year she cut all her hair off and it was a lot of her songs from "Starting Over".
The main thing with covers for this song is they dont ENUNCIATE (/respect) the lyrics theyre singing. The message on the locket should be clear as day and pronounced ... with a *mood*... No one like Reba

I remember this tour in 1995 so clearly. Such an epic, unbelievable performance. There was something truly magical about Reba in the 90s.
I wish I had the full show, but I only have this song
Yes, she's a 90s icon.
Ryan Crisp I was there when it came to Charleston WV. Great show
Yes I still have pictures of this concert from the night I was there! I couldn’t believe they drove a car onto the stage.
There is still a lot of magic in Reba, never doubt her.
If aliens landed in the middle of this show they'd be like "we found the queen."
