I saw the reissued Model 40 at a gun shop and fell in love and bought it on the spot. It was introduced the year I was born and reminded me of all the detective shows where it would be carried as an ankle gun. I'm not crazy about the grip safety but it's a gorgeous piece of work nonetheless.
A very useful and reliable handgun for discreet carry. For current production I would favor the 640, or if you have deep pockets, the 640 Pro, because the extra weight significantly improves shooting ergonomics. I have fired the .357 magnum rounds in a 640, and while I would not choose to fire a full box of 50 at one session, 5 or 10 are not a problem; follow-up shots are slower, and that should be considered.
that is a beautiful revolver. I want one. I have the M640 no dash in 38 special that I really like. I think a gunsmith could probably figure a way to pin the grip safety. the gun's weight makes shooting a breeze but not too heavy to carry. and it can be shot from inside a pocket. and unlike semi autos you can press this up against someone and it will still work. you have a fine revolver.
new people as well as seasoned could just use wadcutters and then these are good for beginners. wadcutters do a surprisingly good job . and recoil is very light. you can buy them by the case and they are less money then the +Ps they brain wash you into thinking you need.

The perfect pocket gun. This is the gun I want in my pocket.
I am envious ! She is beautiful & utilitarian. She would like hanging out with my 1994 Colt Detective Special.
I would like to hang out too.
