- Sheri and I check out four music rooms in Episode 6 of Vinyl Dens. It's the Vinyl Community meets HGTV :). Enjoy!

I bet MTV is holding up getting this out on vinyl. Nirvana Uplugged is easy to get because that's an easy sell. Even if that happens to be a counterfeit on the wall, at this point I still want it. I seem to recall that The Maniacs did 2 unplugged sessions for MTV, I think the first one was maybe a handful of songs, but it seems to have been forgotten about in light of the second one. I would love to see a release that included that session as well. Why not at this point? I guess the only way it would happen is if Natalie releases an album and it does Taylor Swift/Adelle numbers. Thats the way things seem to work nowadays, somebody has to smell an opportunity to cash in for something to get done.
Love watching this - I'm working on redoing my own space right now, and these are full of cool ideas! And keep Sheri - she's great on these shows!

I like having her perspective on the vinyl dens, a lot of us need some feminine feedback because our listening rooms quickly become jam packed with records, equipment, and rats nests of cables and wires.

I like rectangular basement music rooms with acoustic wall treatments & tall ceilings.

Thanks for the mention Frank. I love these vinyl den episodes, and I've gotten some great ideas from the previous videos. The Beatles album is 100% a bootleg. I would love to have a real one, but they are a tad out of my price range. My local record store had a beautiful 2nd state last year that someone dropped off at their shop with a bunch of other albums not knowing what it was. I think they ended up selling to for $1600. I always keep my eyes open at garage sales, maybe one day I'll stumble across one.

Wow, ,those were some amazing music rooms!
One thing I do with IKEA Kallax record storage shelves in my living room is, in addition to filling the shelves the usual way with records side by side and organized by genre with bristol board dividers, I take one record out of each cube shelf and display it in front of all of the other record spines, so my two 16-cube units and my one 12-cube unit can display up to 44 record covers as ever-changing artwork. It's more interesting than just seeing hundreds of record spines. :)

Sheri was awesome! Who knows, I may submit my "room", but I live in a high-rise apartment and my challenge is wanting to listen to it loud, but also having respect for my neighbors (even if they don't).

Hey Frankster! I stumbled across your channel a couple of weeks ago and I have to say it’s one of the best on YT. I’m really enjoying it. I’m in MTL. I never considered myself an audiophile/collector but I’m still listening to my collection that I’ve had my whole life. Also still using my Kenwood KA405 amp, Kenwood KT313 tuner & Kenwood KD3070 turntable. They work great. Too bad they don’t make them like that anymore. Great channel! Enjoying it! ✌🏻

13 years of marriage, 7 or 8 moves together, and 5-6 years of renovating our current home and my "Man Cave" is finally being set-up! Modest record collection, video games, books, and art work.....had a collection of 50 or so records about 20 years ago and had to discard the TT due to many moves and lack of space. Kept the 50 records - cut it down to 30. Started collecting again and thus also bought a new TT last November. Then covid. Started collecting again this year and now this week setting up the listening room. Will send in a photo when it's done and then an update a year later!
I really must send in some pics of my den, it's quite modest in size, but there's quite a bit to it.PS More Sheri please!

The Ann Arbor one is sweet. He had posters of The Detroit Tigers, Pistons and Red Wings. I'm a big fan of the Tigers. I have the Gibby one hanging up in my room. Its when Kirk Gibson hit a Home Run off Goose Gossage for a 8-4 lead in game of the 1984 World Series at Old Tiger Stadium. Go look it up. I'll need to look up his channel. Rock on and your channel rocks!

Hey Frank great video. On a side note, I was having some sound issues with my system and traced it to the grounding of my SL1200. I ended up upgrading the RCAs to the Monster RCA's, a very simple mod, not only did it fix the issue, records sound quite a bit better. I would recommend doing the same with you SL1200. Definitely worth the $30 for the cables.

@@Channel33RPM I had never soldered a circuit board before and it was simple. I will say that I recommend ordering a wireset that already has the solder on the board so you are just heating it up and inserting the wires. I ordered the technics1200s dot com 4ft Monster Cables, but I ordered them from their eBay store. They were cheaper there than their webstore or Amazon store. It was like 35 shipped. I would definitely recommend them.

Has there been DJs sending pictures of their vinyl rooms and setups? If so, why not show them some love too? Seems like the only kind of vinyl dens being shown are of rooms that are decorated in a certain kind of theme mostly dedicated towards an audiophile type design, as though those are the types of rooms only worth mentioning on your channel. This is your channel and you do as you will with it, but it does come off as a reflection of the vinyl community not very inclusive to anyone else other than those who think the same as you do.

Vinyl hardware just ain't complete without ZeroStat ...no sign of it here. 12.47-on...........floor level vinyl not a good idea; that's where dust collects; the inevitable vacuum cleaner will mess heavily with the record spines.
