    Boy that stuff splits nasty, reminds me of elm we grew up with. Burned phenomenal but boy don't try and split it. "We" meaning us 5 boys were the hydraulic splitters, oh the memories of all the blisters. Ha ha. Another great video thanks for the memories.

    I have a similar big box store splitter and a 60cc chainsaw. It's fun to see how productive you are with your fast splitters and saws...It's also impressive to see how much you can do with an average homeowner splitter! That's a lot of wood!

    Your right, working together making firewood is about as good as it gets. I spent a day splitting wood with my 9 year old son running the splitter and I was stacking. It was one of the best days I've ever had with him. I'd spend evenings splitting with an axe with my other boy. Nothing better than being outside working.

We buy 20 full cord at a time, make a huge pot of chili and cornbread and feed them well. 😋 Two cutting the pile, two on the splitter and two stacking. We have a great time when we all get into sync. It's amazing the amount of wood you can process in six to eight hours. Great job by all Chris thanks for the awesome videos.

    Always wondered what was the fun entertainment at the Florida Gravediggers Ball. Now I think I know! Wonder what Tony would make of all the fun and hilarity he's missing out on? Too much fun is illegal in 14 states. Now we gotta guess the other 13. The young man at the first, did he find the antlers or did the 'horn dog'? That pinYON is tough, all right, but I ran into some cottonwood that would show 'em how! Couldn't even get the steel wedge started!!! When we thot it was, take a great whack at it, if it was a little off center, the wedge would fly up to 60'. Finally gave up and cut in quarters like Chris did. And then the trying to split it began...

    • @InTheWoodyard

    You must feel spoiled after using the Ultra for so long. Get a custom 3in cylinder for the farm store splitters and they are about as quick as the Ultra.

      Yes I am, but his splitter did the job!

    No, I don't think that is Pinyon Pine. Isn't that the same tree you cut in video 549? I'm pretty sure that is Ponderosa Pine. You didn't cut any Pinyon Pine that big, because there isn't any. Look at the bark - that's a Ponderosa.

    • @InTheWoodyard
      @InTheWoodyard  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are partly correct, the first pile was Ponderosa but the last pile from the trailer was Pinyon. Good catch!

      No, not really, we made the best of the tools at hand and had a good time as a team getting it done! But I ran my splitter yesterday and really put a smack down on a pile in a hurry!

    Efficency is a good thing, but 3 men operating/handling the same pice of wood at the same time on the same splitter ........ accident waiting to happend....... Not something I would do.... I love the idea of working together as a team, but in my world, the guy controlling the piston moving fwd is also the guy who holds the log 🙂
