What made me realize that my husband was the right man for me was when I noticed he was actually helping me with my walk with Christ, also he was really patient with me and built a friendship with me before we started getting serious despite him wanting to pursue me right away. He was really obedient to the Lord throughout the whole process of us getting together and being together.
I agree with Sadie about dating with intention and not wasting time. My husband and I were engaged after 3 months of dating and married 9 months later. We’ve been married for 12 years now, with 3 kids. I was only 19 and he was 24 when we were married. We’ve grown together, as a team, and that’s been our goal, to do life together. People thought we were crazy to get married so young, and I didn’t plan to do that either, but when you KNOW you KNOW and I didn’t see the point of waiting to start our life together because of someone else’s arbitrary “you’re now old enough to get married” timeline.
I loved this so much - my husband and I also got married young (22) and had our first baby a year and a half later. Through the years dating in both high school and then college, we strongly felt the Lord's call to build a family and grow together but encountered a lot of resistance and concern even within our own family. I appreciate Sadie's ability to empathize with the mindset of the world and then compare that to God's vision for marriage. It was really affirming and I felt so understood. Thank you for sharing!
I love these podcasts; real working committed couples sharing their journey with listeners like myself. And let me say this; I appreciate the integrity Shawn, Andrew and all of the guest couples demonstrate in each podcast of couple things. Thanks for being real.
Beautiful podcast with two beautiful young Christian couples! You have such wisdom - I know God is going to bless your marriages because He is the center of your marriage!! 🙏🙏❤️❤️
Love Sadie! Thank you so much, Shawn & Andrew, for having her and her husband on. It's amazing how much wisdom this young lady has in her life already.
I pray for Shawn and Andrew, that God will continue to uphold your marriage and I pray you will get to know God more, just like I am trying and continue to submit to God, God bless, Jesus loves you.
My husband and I met and knew we were going to get married after dating for four months. (We actually knew we were both "the one" after the FIRST date!) We were engaged after 9 months and would have married soon after, but my husband was finishing a master's degree in international business and live abroad for 7 months. We married a month after he got home. That was 33 years ago and we love each other more every day. We are loving the quarantine because we are best friends and just love being together. We have two sons who both married in their early 20's. You wouldn't believe how many people said to us, "They're getting married too young, they haven't matured enough yet." That was 10 years ago, and they are both happily married and have given us four grandchildren❤ Having a Christian world view is what has made the difference for all of us.
I’m not even done listening yet and THIS!!! Best interview so far. I never got into Duck Dynasty, but after listening to her speak, wow! Love it. More of these please!!
I get so excited about your podcasts. I can’t wait to hear the topic or hear from a couple. Your TH-cam videos are so open and honest and speak right to the heart of so many people. I look forward to hearing and/or seeing what is up next. I have literally spent 2 days binge watching y’all’s TH-cam videos. Y’all are around the same age as our daughter and son-in-law, so it helps me to relate to them a bit more. Thank you for being a light to a world that can be dark. Prayers for your marriage, that God will continue to use you for His will and purpose, and keep sharing the fun and tough times with the world. Love y’all’s little family! Keep laughing and loving together. Thank you for having Sadie and Christian on to spread God’s message and for telling their story. Can’t wait to see what God does in all of your lives in the future. Keep shining for Christ 💜💜💜
Omg my two favorite couples together!! I cannot! Y’all are the greatest roll models for this generation! Goals! I pray that My future husband is as great as Andrew and Christian!
Meet in September, first date in February, engaged in July, married in December at 19 and 22. 13 years in and 4 beautiful girls later, a God centered and purposed marriage is totally different then the world view...
When I got married I was 20 and my husband and was 23. Many of my then co workers thought I was way to young to get married. My friends and family were super supportive though.
I love you guys and absolutely love this podcast! I would love to see you two interview couples of color. Seeing more diverse couples would be so inspiring and I think it would bring up so many questions and deeper representation of all types of love.
Also thank you for bringing up marrying young! My parents were married a week after my mom graduated from high school. A week after getting married, they moved to Germany (my dad was in the army). Almost 33 years later and they still happily married and the Lord at the center of their marriage. My sister got married her second year of college. Her and my brother in law have been married for 7 years now. They faced many hardships in those 7 years. My brother in law became disabled shortly after they were married, he had to go back fo college. They faced infertility, a miscarriage, and a very traumatic birth (my niece was born a month early). Through it all, they worked together and kept the Lord at the center of their marriage.
It’s so funny that y’all had Sadie and Christian on, because my husband and I have been watching Duck Dynasty every night now for the last two weeks...lol!! I really enjoy hearing your perspective on things, and your words of wisdom! I’m interested in knowing how you all feel about your spouse having close friends of the opposite sex. And Shawn, you did an awesome job on Andrew’s hair...you’re a pro!! 😊 If you’re ever looking for a friend for Nash, I have a beautiful girl that I’ll be breeding hopefully in the next month or two. 🐶
I have read and finished the book “Live” by Sadie Robertson and it was amazing. The way it was written was brilliant and it really shows the importance of living a life that points to God and really living your life with a purpose and to its full potential. I love theses two couples. ❤️❤️
I’d love to hear your story on purity and everything before marriage, I don’t think you guys covered it after your dating q&a last year!! So much love for you guys, loved this episode ❤️
I know I'm a few days late to listening to this however I still wanted to comment. I really enjoyed this interview and hearing about Sadie's and Christians's story and hearing advice they're giving out to couples, people who are single etc... I hope you have them on again because this was super interesting! ps. Loving the podcast.
I was 20, my husband 22 when we got married. We didn’t plan to get married so young but we found each other early in life. And we did wait 2 years before getting married but we knew by 6 months we wanted to marry! I find the people who condemn young marriages are probably not christians or have no morals. I was told I would be missing out on life by strangers, people whose idea of living is sleeping around, parting and dating people for fun. Although getting married young isn’t for everyone, but for the mature young adults chasing Godly relationships, young marriage is beautiful! We’re growing up together and getting to experience so many life decisions together! My parents got married later at 30 and my dads response to people was that he was thankful we found each other early in life if that would prevent me making the same mistakes he did. We all walk different paths and when we make Godly choices I believe God blesses that path! My grandparents got married in their early 20’s. A month after my wedding my grandpa passed away and I remember my grandma telling me that 64 years of marriage wasn’t long enough and she missed he so much. My uncle pursued my aunt at the age of 14! Got married at 16-18😂 And they have been married for 60 years ❤️🤷🏼♀️ Also, we’ve been married 5 years and this is the first year we’ve struggled to live in harmony and get along.
The getting married young thing is the opposite here where I live. I'm from Oklahoma, I'm 30 and not married. Let me tell you, the amount of pressure other people put on me to find someone and get married is crazy.
My husband and I got married last year a week after I turned 20 and a month after he turned 21. Highschool sweethearts. A month before we started dating we got ditched by some friends and just casually ended up talking about our own personal dating expectations like waiting till marriage, the purpose of dating, how we see our futures, personal walk with the Lord, etc. at the time we were barely friends. A month later a friendship blossomed and then eventually a dating relationship came of that. I was worried about receiving judgement about getting married young, not from family, but from friends who don't have the same life goals as I do. I did receive some flack but at the end of the day I didn't care because I was marrying my best friend and the love of my life.
For anyone who feels pressured about finding the right person to marry, don’t feel that way! You are already a whole!! Your significant other does not “complete you.”
My husband and I were engaged for 8 months and didn’t move in together under we were married! We are still in our first year of marriage and have had a ton of ups and downs with being a military couple. I would love to hear a military couple perspective on the podcast if possible.
If you don't follow them already, check out Rachel and Harold Earl's, the "Earl's Fam", here on YT, and thier IG's! I totally vote that Andrew and Shawn have them on the podcast someday!
I got married 20 days after I graduated from high school and are still married 45 years later. I never realize I was that young I look at my kids now and think if they would have got married at 18 they will still babies but we never felt like we got married too young
Your comments box has been closed ever senses back in August right after your wedding date you has it posted senses after you has the baby love you too I know shawn sense she was the Gymnastics Opy.
Sadie is on point with a godly marriage is SO different from the “worlds” point of view on marriage!
A: Agreed!!
What made me realize that my husband was the right man for me was when I noticed he was actually helping me with my walk with Christ, also he was really patient with me and built a friendship with me before we started getting serious despite him wanting to pursue me right away. S: LOVE THIS :)
Yes it's best to clear out couple trash early than to play and hurt people.
Two of my favorite couples in the world together in one place! Thankful for all that I have learned from the four of y'all's example.
S: We are thankful for you!

I pray for Shawn and Andrew, that God will continue to uphold your marriage and I pray you will get to know God more, just like I am trying and continue to submit to God, God bless, Jesus loves you.
I love Sadie! I love hearing her talk about walking with Christ and what it’s like getting married with that!
