Wow, almost 20 years already? Has it been that long? I still remember when that came out and opening lots of packs back in the day.
Personally I never opened AST back in the day. Blowback dragon is my favourite card from the set. It was weird that they released him so late
It's funny how these kinds of videos honestly do hit my nostalgia, I'm no kid anymore :( but recognising every card is so surreal
Enemy Controller hands down is my favorite card from that set. Ive always loved cards that let you take control of your opponents monster during their turn like Comic Hand, Widow Anchor, and the classic Enemy Controller. Good luck pulling one!

IMHO this set and pharaonic guardian, have the most fascinating artworks related to the ancient Egypt. Such an underrated set
Liked,Subbed and Notifications on. Yugioh was me and my dads thing, he loved the story behind the show and artwork. His first ever “rare” pull was a Super Blowback, and its always remained my favorite card from the set.
Enemy controller is definetly my favorite card from ancient sanctuary just remembering Kaiba using it in the anime brings back nastalgia sadly I never got to open any packs due to me being a baby at the time of its release.
Just pulled my sealed box of Ancient Sanctuary 1st Edition out a couple months ago. Opened a box 16 years ago as well, ended up pulling End of Anubis. Amazing secret rare.
I do remember this set coming out back then, I loved going into Borders to get like 2 or 3 boosters lol. Blowback Dragon!! lets goo!!!!
The theme of the cards of ancient sanctuary is so cool. Really dig the Egyptian stuff of yugioh uses.
Dark magic attack and the secret end of Anubis both super cool. Enemy controller would be a sick pull one of the best cards from the set. GL !
Burst stream of destruction has got to be one of my most favorite from the set it just has great artwork on it with the foiling

The Egyptian style cards in Yu-Gi-Oh will always be the coolest in my opinion, I love sets that revolve around that theme. I would say Blowback Dragon is my favorite from Ancient Sanctuary for sure
I always liked Emissary of the Oasis, Blessings of the Nile and Desert Sunlight, the desert imagery is nostalgic. I remember this being the last set that I was aware of before I went to High School and moved away from Yugioh 😢
Great video! I actually don't remember this set, but enemy controller is definitely a favorite. Used to play it all the time in Duel Links.
I LOVE the yugioh cards that are just straight up guns like blowback dragon. I actually started a 1st ed original prints collection of this exact thing, and would be stoked to have that one! Barrel dragon from MRD 1st ed is gonna be a pricey one to pick up as well for sure.
Never cracked open one of these packs before, so the cards were a bit of a mystery to me. Still, it's amazing to discover that many classics trace their roots back to this set. Your vintage unboxings are always a treat! 👍🤩

AST! I think I've only opened one booster out of this set, it came in the 2005 tins, right? My favorite one here is Archlord Zerato. And The Agents were released here too, I played them for a while last year.
This was a fun box! I loved seeing the original print for The Sanctuary In The Sky!

That burst stream of destruction looks so nice. I like the way foils were done back then with partial foiling. Wish they would still do some of that.

I very much remember this set being released in 2004 and purchasing a bunch of packs to try and pull Zaborg the Thunder Monarch (favorite cars from that set). I never did get to pull one.

My favorite AST card is Blowback Dragon. I like machine cards, and I loved playing Gatling Dragon back in the day.

The coolest card of the set is definitely human wave tactics. Mokey Mokey is the goat and they should continue this arc type.

Gotta go with Gogiga Gagagigo as my favourite from this set. As a kid that card was awesome, great atk and def for a common.
I definitely remember this set coming out back in the day! Unfortunately, it was during a time when I was losing interest in Yugioh, so I didn't get too familiar with the cards. Archlord Zerato definitely caught my attention though. I bought a copy just because I thought it looked cool.
One of my favourite card from ast is Dark Magic Attack. Seeing the dark magician attacking is pretty cool
This was the last set I bought into before phasing out of YGO. Bought so many trying to pull zarato, but ended up with a million delta attacks and zero foils. Ah nostalgia.

Best card out of the set is obviously GOGIGA GAGAGIGO, i love that whole family of cards.
Blowback Dragon is a close second but ive always liked all the Barrel Dragon related cards ever since the Joey and Bandit Keith duel.
Don’t even remember this set but I do remember the starter decks that came out around it!
This was the last pack that came out before I stopped collecting for a while after middle school. Favorite card is Gogiga Gagagigo, really wish it could be reprinted as Ultra or higher. Or, even better, if they could do Gagagigo retrains and support. They're really cool monster designs.

I remember opening very little of Ancient Sanctuary so I only have a few cards. My favorite among them was the Elephant Statue of Blessing because I just liked the art a lot. Avatar of the Pot is a pretty hilarious art though, might be a close second.

Ancient sanctuary is a GOATed set. I remember when it was coming out I really wanted the fairy cards and the zeratos and mazera deville and they looked super good in the stores
The End of Anubis is and has always been my fav card in yugioh. I still have my OG 1st edition i pulled.

Everytime as a kid in Toys R Us I would 100% be begging my mum for couple packs of this and invasion of chaos which to me was like light vs dark 😂 miss them simple times they was good

That is my favorite booster box ever ❤️ It sounds like my entirely childhood. That's the pack I wouldn't be sad with any card pulled at all.

As for my fave from this set? Gogiga Gagagigo. That line of cards I enjoyed so much especially when Swing of Memories was out. I would always make a show playing against other people as I casted that Swing and brought back my big buddy Gogiga Gagagigo from the grave - one last time! Just so they remember how much they are about to get hit with! XD

Ancient Sanctuary was one of my last sets I bought before I stopped collecting. I bad gotten alot of it and still have alot of my cards in the garage somewhere

The End of Anubis is certainly my favorite card from the set. However when I played as a child I didn't bother remembering the various set, so I don't have great memories of their releases

I really like the Stone Statue of the Aztecs. Mostly because it reminds me of Olmec from Legends of the Hidden Temple. That's kids game on Nickelodeon from the 90s
Just came back to collecting from 2014. It's interesting to see now how certain archetypes are getting updated releases with newer cards now from then. You see this same thing here with Ninjitsu and Sanctuary of the Sky (my favorite pull from this video). Ninjitsu didn't get a meta revive until like 2012/2013 tho lol
