As an automotive technician Currently rocking the makita ratchet and I love it. Yes the battery is a tad big but the tool is great and does exactly what I need.
I have the old M12 which I love because I can get to any places with it. But also have the makita 12 volts. And in my own opinion I wouldn't switch to the 18 volt one. Specifications are the same. As the makita is faster and I can use it manually to break the bolts, Makita is my every day cordless ratchet. Thanks for the video Bryan
I have 1/4” and 1/2” Milwaulkee extended m12 ratchets. Im already invested in Mikwaulkee’s M12 and M18 platform. The only thing I don’t like is switching the direction. It’s not easy to do it like a manual ratchet which can be done one handed. I have to stop and turn the bar on the head.
I own both the Makita and the MIlwaukee. While the Makita has the option of using as a ¼’ and a ⅜’” ratchet by just changing the anvil makes it super convenient, the battery placement adds a lot to the length of the tool.
Battery platform is key. For work I bought a Husky brand two years ago and it’s still working. Your right about torque but the tool is for those spots where there’s limited ratchet handle movement available.

I’m currently using the OG Milwaukee ratchet & it does anything I’ve asked it to do. Combine the ratchet & stubby impact together, you can accomplish almost anything automotive. Two of my favorite tools in the M12 lineup.
I recently bought the makita 18v ratchet to take the skid plate off a toyota 4runner in order to change the oil, its a pain because it involves 10 bolts and finally got tired using a regular ratchet. Definitely dont want to use an impact because these bolts strip easily with repeated removal every oil change, hopefully it holds up well and will use it for other tasks as well
I have all Milwaukee now but HD has a sale on the makita 7 1/4 saw 2 batteries & dual charger with a free tool and the ratchet is one of them i might get it!
There is a Lotta debate on which brand of tools I am a Milwaukee fan because it gives me the fizz and they are a good tool especially the half-inch impact it works excellent for doing semi tires
I carry the tool with the ⅜" anvil fitted and a ¼" converter socket over the ⅜" anvil. I don't lose either anvils as when using the ⅜" anvil the ¼" goes into my pocket. Try it, it makes sense.
I’m really not sure if you could get your hands on one, but try a Keilder ratchet wrench, they are from the UK so I’m unsure if they sell anything in the US
I have 18v makita. And I hate it because of battery location and size. Sometimes it won't fit between the side(front) of engine and engine bay where Milwaukee one would fit. I think, places I can use this Makita ratchet, I can also use my makita impact driver. So I'm using an impact driver all the time.
I have the Makita 12V which as far as I know is identical to the 18V, except for the different battery of course. I chose it because it seemed significantly less unwieldy than 18v and I already had the 12 volt inflator that rides in my car, so it made sense to just get that one. It's never going to chew through batteries so I didn't think that would be an issue. It is a handy little tool.
Very interesting, I have the Makita CXT 12 volt ratchet, but I'm also going to get the LXT 18 volt as I think it has more torque, all I really want them for is to reduce the amount of wrenching to do up, or undo nuts on my car, (touch of carpal tunnel in my old age!),of course I will use a regular manual ratchet or torque wrench as required to either finish or start a job. I have been using almost nothing but Makita, (I do have Skil impact driver), since 1981, and I already have 3 Makita chargers, just using one platform! Milwaukee make good tools too, but I'm a Makita guy.
Im sold on it. I own nothing but milwaukee tools, but my biggest beef with the milwaukee m12 line if their batteries. Most specifically the cheap plastic retaining clips. I’ve had to warranty 3 of them in a year as they’ve fallen out the the ratchet kicks and the clip bread or the red cell holder breaks out of the black clip retainer. Garbage! I hate those batteries. Milwaukee need to make an m18 extended reach ratchet
Recently I think I got the 12v a while back on promo w/free 4ah bat and didn’t see a 18v option now the 18v is on promo as a free tool at depot if you can find it in stock
You made a very good point about impact wrenches getting smaller and smaller. I'm looking at the Dewalt 12v Extreme, not because I love Dewalt but because of its size and this Precision Wrench function. I'd be using it for auto repair, taking fasteners out and putting them back in fast. So, I'm seeing no need for a ratchet wrench.

Painted my anvils bright orange on day 1.
You must me stalking me. I have been eyeballing that Makita ratchet for the past 2 weeks.
If quality is a high priority - You can't miss with Makita
That Makita is not useful for auto Technicians, if you're out in the open you're going to use an impact gun. That big battery would just be in the way.
The Makita is huge and weak. Milwaukee has nothing to fear from them. (I love Makita’s corded tools though.)
The difference is torque not RPMs
makita is way more durable and cheaper because you only need to buy one instead of two ratchets
Snap-on is the best cordless ratchet... FYI
Had one 2 weeks rachet head gave in using just 3/8 don't rate it
I love Broderick Farms videos every Sunday at 1 PM 😀
😎🛠️😎🛠️😎
👍🏻🍻🍺🦃
That m12 ratchet is my least favorite tool ever
That trump sticker on the back of the pick up was the most American thing I’ve seen all day 🤣
Regarding ratchets, my long reach Milwaukee is one of my favourite tools. I don’t have the shorter one, can’t imagine it’s better than the long reach
Subd cz of the sticker :?
How do know if a trump supporter is telling the truth?
make this channel good agian lmfao😂🤣
can't fw Trump supporters
Might be a good video to do rpm readings on another video with both the Milwaukee speed ratchets and the makita with a rpm tachometer Brian @WorkshopAddict
RPM at no load is pointless. These are never used at no load. They always have some sort of load.
@@WorkshopAddict great point
The dewalt flexvolt grinder is a rat tail grinder and I agree I like the trigger switch flexvolt grinder better then the Paddle switch style @WorkshopAddict
Has anyone put the makita head on the milwaukee M12 ratchet?!?! makita 127297-7 😈😈😈🙊🙉🙈
