Yep, and I have seen them there. Maybe you haven't, but I have. My son used to dig for bottles. He found a 1911 Italian cavalry sword in an old dump. Silver, gold coins, and more. I've picked up silver coated brass from the 19th century at place like Good Will. The point being, you never know what's there till you look.

Both of the films turned out pretty well. Tom Cruise does a credible job, even though if you read the books Jack Reacher is a much more imposing physical presence, when you picture the Jack Reacher of the books you picture someone more in line with the Rock. So for Cruise at 5’6 or 5’7 to pull off such a good performance as to make it work , he does a great job
The second film was kind of meh. This one was good though.
Nikunj Dixit I think the second film starts off really good, but after about 30 minutes it starts to deviate from the book and treads into more of generic action movie territory, still a decent film, but the first one is so much better, and literally almost follow the book 100%
You're right. Inthe books he is 6'-5" and 250 lbs. I just don't see Cruise playing the part. Miss cast.

It's a really good movie. The book series has a great premise. It allows a roving military sherlock holmes character to get into lots of interesting situations.
One of my favorite parts of the movie.

Every roll he takes, he just keeps on looking like Tom Cruise. Amazing how that works. However, after this many years "creating his Brand" he can now just play "himself". Nothing could possibly be easier for an actor.
What do you mean by play himself? Short arshole who lies for a living. Very good at memorizing the written word.

I thought this was a good movie. I know Tom Cruise is not as the literary character in the books, but I thought he did real justice to the role

I love that he’s changing from a southern style of clothes, cause chronologically he’s coming from Miami I believe, or some coast area, this movie was literally almost 100% accurate

One thing they got wrong with this -- though I suppose it's more on Lee Childs than on the writers of the movie -- is that commissioned officers in the Army can't become criminal investigators in the Military Police. In fact, the kind of background that is described for Reacher is really more in line with that of the Army Criminal Investigation Command (CID) than that of the standard Military Police Corps.
While CID units are administratively under the command of commissioned officers from the MP Corps, these officers generally don't touch the investigative side of things, instead acting as the hypothetical police chief overseeing a stable of very capable detectives/forensic techs. Criminal investigations and other field work is handled by Special Agents who are either civilians or experienced Soldiers with backgrounds in law enforcement in either a civilian or military context.
I've seen alot of postive review, from the premiere it's opening at so far, can't wait to see it opening weekend!

Cruise was awesome in both movies.
I love having a badass lone wolf MC that is focused on delivering justice but at the time doesnt appear interesting.
Like Goblin Slayer, literally his whole character trait is that he kills goblins.
When you learn why he does that and when/ where, he's an amazing character.
Cruise's Reacher just screams "you have 5 seconds to lay down and surrender before i bust your knee caps open and drag you to your cell myself"
There should have been at least one redo!

Sure it was campy (while taking itself a bit too seriously), but it was a fun movie.

I read that the author, Lee Child, stated that Cruise will not be playing Reacher any more. They will be looking for an actor that matches the physical image of the books' character.
The only two actors of any renown I can think of that maybe could play the part and fit the look would be Henry Cavill or John Krakinski.

@@SuperNictastic Another good choice for the character tbh, but Hugh has said several times he is never gonna get in Wolverine shape again. And I don't think it would do super well on film if the character was already in his 50s. Reacher at 30-40 is golden.

Haven't seen the movie, of course. But I'm betting that this is one of the best scenes (and one of the best written scenes) of the whole movie !
Not really. It is a good scene. But the line "I'm going to beat you to death, and drink your blood from your boot." is a bit better IMHO.

Sorry but Jack Reacher will always be 6’ 5” in my mind, not 5’ 6”.
I’ve read most of the Reacher Novels. Tom Cruise is not remotely close to what the author describes Jack Reacher as. Since the relays of this movie, it has ruined the books for me.
I like the idea .. But Tom cast in the part is not a good fit.
He is if you haven't read the books and you don't listen to people on TH-cam. Watch the movie(s) and judge for yourself.
me and my dad often talked about who could play reacher better! Not too many could play the Reacher from the books. Cruise did a ok job. Movie wasn't bad, kept my attention.

Cruise doesn't fit the character of the Jack Reacher Series books. Cruise is a twerp in real life.
Same as Clark in the Tom Clancy books. To my mind (and I dare say Tom Clancy's) it was Clint, never Willem Dafoe. Jack Ryan was always Harrison Ford, and Ding was always Raymond Cruz. And as Meatloaf says "two outta three ain't bad".
Doesn't matter what he's like in real life. I buy what he's selling. Loved "One Shot". Loved book and movie.
