- Welcome to another cruise port adventure. Today I explore the Puerto Vallarta Malecon. Malecon is the Spanish word for boardwalk. This area is packed with shops, restaurants, street performers and more. This was filmed on May 17th, 2022 during our cruise on the Carnival Panorama.

Good call doing cruise news Sun - Thursday with a couple of days off after. I can only imagine how hard it is to come up with witty cruise commentary every day. Need some time off! And the vlog stuff on the off days is entertaining as well. How about that!

I do like to taste things from the different McDonald's menus when I travel around the world. It's amazing how much tastier the food is they serve everywhere but America! Usually less preservatives and mystery ingredients.

I used to go to Puerto Vi-yarta a couple times a year on daddy’s airline discount starting in the early 70’s and stayed at playa across hotel for $9 an night…was great…took my then boyfriend in’93 and they remembered me and gave us my dad’s discount was awesome…hubby had just come back from Desert Storm .
Love this, Tony! I never had any thoughts to go to Puerto Vallarta, but I would love that boardwalk. Your plan to use the weekends to post these vlogs is outstanding. I like knowing you took a day off...❤

Very Surprising and a tad dissappointed Sir!
When I decide to sit down and relax whilst watching TH-cam videos, it. doesnt take too long before come across a title of a video that SEEMS like it's going to be awesome. Ok, the video opens & I quickly realize that I have fallen victim to a phenomenon known as "CLICKBAIT". No need to explain what that is, if you don't know, please GOOGLE IT.
Which brings me to my reason for this post.
After watching your video, I noticed that you did not mention anything about lunch at MCDONALD'S for 2 costing $56. You simply said that you wouldn't never eat at Mcdonalds in Puerto Rico!
Clickbait is WRONG!

We love PVR! Best place to eat at Rico Mac Taco on Avenida Mexico. Whole, fresh red snapper w/rice, veg and bread, about $8.
Anyone who spends more then $15 is a true tourist.. and the tourist food is not that good. Check out Maria bajas and the Italian place by devils bar

Just got off of the Extasy from Carnival. Never,ever will I sail Carnival again after this experience. Our room air conditioner did not work. The food in the main dining room was bad. Mot so so, but nad. Rude servers. Only staff that went above and beyond were the bartenders. Ill be sticking with Royal forever now.

We’ve been to PV several times, on cruise ships and at all-inclusives. Love the Malecon! Our favourite eating place is the Cheeky Monkey.
Cheeky Monkey is no longer in business.

We've been to Cabo twice and Puerto Vallarta once (20 years ago!). Even so, trying to talk mi espossa into a Mexican Riviera cruise :-). Thanks Tony, love th 360 camera shots!
Had you continued your walk just a bit more on the Malecon you would have crossed the bridge over the Rio Cualo and just past that is where all the restaurants have tables out along the beach. We've tried several but don't have our favorite, yet.
We love sitting at the beach restaurants!

Have you ever had a bad experience eating locally? We try and take advantage of the free food on the ship.
No bad experiences. I eat not the ship mostly but wanted to try the food in western Mexican ports.

We loved Puerto Vallarta but found food expensive even 10 years ago. We ended up getting fresh tortillas made on a little side street for $1 a stack 😁 and some Mexican Coke (always the best) cause I'm cheap 💜
Puerto what? Did you just say Porta Vee artah? Come on. Get it right. If you simply cannot get the name Puerto Vallarta correct, just say Vallarta.

A friend from here in Celebration near Disney World had a not so great time a couple weeks back:
“I was down in Puerto Vallarta this week and got mugged in the international district for my iPhone and Apple Watch. They attacked me and threw me over a railing and down a mountainside. They left for for dead. Luckily a taxi driver found me 2 hours later in a drainage ditch next to a road and took me to help. I really can’t begin to tell you what this has done to me.”
He’s recovering and will be fine physically. Even though he was traveling with a friend, he still got mugged. Just reminds us all to be aware of our surroundings!

I was about to unsubscribe before you say you don't go get McDonalds. But let me tell you something some Tourists buy McDonalds in foreign countries when they are on vacation. Some McDonalds in Dominican republic they have Local beer.

Did you have a $56 lunch as you teased at the beginning? You ate at lobster house but did not elude to it before during or after. Normally you are very thorough.

Try to go for Dia de Morta THINK DISNEY COCO the festivities are a blast. But city is shut down O.K with me. Did street food and enjoyed the festivities Hard to find a cruise day of. Because. Zero excursions. But decorations up for a bit past the day

Yep happened in Bahamas in 2018, $24 for nachos. I wasn't about to buy a $12 hot dog from the cruise excursion. 😳
I’ve been to Puerto Vallarta many times. Was there in February. Restaurants now charge a fee to use their restroom unless your a customer. Look for the Beatle Exhibit on the Malecon. Great video. More restaurants there than places to buy souvenir things.
When we were there we hiked the famous mirador El Cerro Dela Cruz I’ll be posting that video here soon. We also tried a great food place called pipis been around since 1984.

We always find Puerto Vallarta to be a good deal for food and drink but we always stay at the Westin in the Marina. The food in the Marina is at an affordable price. Usually like $15-$20 for 2 people.
