I just got off the PANORAMA yesterday! Best trip ever. The boat, the people, the experience, amazing. I have cruised around the world, this one was definitely a standout!
What if you have a scatter? How can you get to the shops?
How is the weather and water activities in late November?
Once you get more South..it will be nicer/warmer weather, but the first and last day of the cruise can be a bit chilly.
One of the best days our family ever had was the zip line trip from Vallarta Adventures. It wasn’t only zip lines, but rappelling, water slides, and food!! I felt very safe with them and the food at the end was simply amazing. Much like Sharon, I am a connoisseur of Mexican food and this was bomb! I highly recommend them.
Is Mazatlan safe? The Sinaloa cartel is there. Thank you for the tips and recommendations.
It’s mostly safe. I’ve been many times and never really felt threatened. Like most of the ports on mainland Mexico, stick to the tourist areas and you’ll be fine. Although there are occasional scammers, I’ve never felt unsafe anywhere in Mexico. On the other hand, the Panorama is loaded with things to do as well. You can have it all to yourself if you don’t feel safe in Mazatlan.

Is it better to do the whale watching at PV or Cabo?
Depends on time of year but in general, PV should be best of these three locations. Perhaps I should add, I sailed in Mexico for months at a time twice. We saw more whales around PV than anywhere else in Mexico.

We had a great time with Pedro and Shore Excursioneer. Great guy, great guide. In Puerto Vallarta, Krystal wanted $20 per person and didn't include any food. We opted for the Westin and it was great. Thanks for your helpful video!

Did you guys say Krystal in Puerta Vallarta offers day pass? Can you also go there and relax on the beach with the waiter providing drinks? Food? Like Mr. Sanchos???
They did offer day passes. They didn"t serve by the beach when we went, only by the pool.
Well I read so many misconceptions about traveling to Mexico. Amen been to Mexico 🇲🇽 when my kids were small NOTHING BAD HAPPENED. we visit family and did some shopping. NOTHING BAD ever happened. I’m so tired of hearing and reading bad things about. Traveling to Mexico 🇲🇽. So after I my man comes home from the Army he told me that he wants to go on a nice peaceful vacation I ll tell him about A Cruise 🚢
Wondering if you have seen the Mex Riveria from NCL, Carnival, Royal Caribbean and Princess and which one you liked best and why or at least how they compared. To you have a video of that already?

In Los Caletas what is an additional cost? Can you snorkle etc there? We are looking for a place we can snorkel but wont be stuck only doing that.

Sharon, Jamie, anyone else reading this. I watched this video prior to going on a Mexican Riviera cruise. The excursion described for Cabo didn't quite go as explained in this video, or at least as I expected based on how it was explained. Granted - there were only 3 of us in the group so maybe with a larger group it may have been different.
Shoreexcursioneer (or maybe the contracted tour company did it) paired us up with another group of people right from the beginning (the glass bottom boat tour). Unfortunately for us, that group was unaware of the tendering process and never registered for a tender "ticket". On top of that, one of the members of that group required a wheelchair (despite the caution about people with mobility issues on the website) so they had to line up for a different tender than they were just about to board. Needless to say, we were on land for an hour before boarding the glass bottom boat for the trip out to the arch. We were only a few minutes away from the tour guide taking us on our own and then collecting the rest of the group after the boat portion and taking them for that at the end of the tour. Several stops were shortened, including lunch which resulted in one missed meal order because the guide (Pedro) called ahead with it to speed things up.
Don't get me wrong - the food was good, the tour guide was very nice and was sure to get us back in time. San Jose del Cabo is getting VERY built up, lots of very new-looking resorts so it seems as if it's becoming more of a tourist area. I wish we had more time in the town itself but the previous delay kind of shot that down.
On another note - Mazatlan was amazing! We walked the blue line, up to the Cathedral then the flea market, out to the Malecon, the cliff divers then back to the plaza at the end of the blue line to have lunch before walking back to the port. What a beautiful little city! It was a lot of walking but at no point did we ever feel in danger and the Snow Birds were VERY nice (despite one misjudging our ability to do all the walking we did and suggesting a Pulmonia), taking the time to chat at length with us about the city and what to do there.

Sharon, have you done a video on good reasonably priced hotels to stay at for a cruise from Long Beach? Is it better to stay by the port or by the airport? I am looking for hotel recommendations for a cruise in February and the Doubletree by the port was not available and the Queen Mary seemed a little high priced. thanks,
I did this video for parking by the port and under the description of the video there is a list of ports and parking options. There is one for Long Beach with a list of hotels close to the port.

Great tips as always! Question??? Is there a reason that you know of as to why you can only go to the Mexican Riviera by the port out of California?
Some cruiselines go up the coast of California, but not a regualr itineray. Main reason is those are some of the only cruise ports.

Update 2021 - I had the Deluxe tour booked for my family through Shore Excursioneer for our Oct 2021 Cruise and they cancelled and refunded us. They said they aren’t offering it right now.
I booked Luxury Sail and Snorkel in Cabos with Carnival, Historical Mazatlan Tour with Lunch with Shore Excursion Group, Local Traditions with cooking class at Private Villa and Rhythms Of The Night in Puerto Vallarta with Carnival.
I prefer to drink on land and the tours include Drinks and food along with the culture!
I'm possibly going this October 2022 if things work out from travel covid etc hows the weather and do recommend cruise excursions and shopping

Are there any hikes and beautiful nature walks and things to do for free? Can you sit at the beach for free? Or does everything cost money? And also, how do you pay for things there with US currency ? Like food or shopping or anything

Great video! I adored PV many years ago. Just booked my first cruise, which is gonna stop in Cabo San Lucas. Does the sport fishing include getting your caught fish back to your home somehow? And if so, has it be cleaned and fileted?
It doesn't including shipping it home, but you can certainly pay extra for that to happen and yes, it will be cleaned and fileted. (but confirm that info before paying)
When you go to the Krystal, do you pre book? or is this a walk off the boat and go to the desk?
So i can go to any resort pay a fee and their pools, resort lounging and use the bathrooms?

If you mean the Las Caletas tour, it is offered through Carnival and should be found on their website under the excursions for your cruise. Is that the tour you are talking about?

They take US dollars. I What's the just let you take a lot of small bills for purchasing things and the port. You can haggle a little with prices there.

Hey Sharon, how safe is it to take a taxi to Todos Santos or San Jose Del Cabo? Which is closer to themarina? Do you recommend that we take a taxi?
Haven't been to Todos Santos, but the ride to San Jose Del Cabo was nice and not too long, it's closer than Todos Santos. We would be comfortable taking a taxi to San Jose Del Cabo..there are resorts, restaurants and shopping.

Sharon, Jamie - which is the best place to snorkel in Mexican riviera? What is the best beach resort to relax in Mexican riviera?
I would say snorkel in Cabo out by the arches and relax in Puerto Vallarta. PV has many resorts not far from the cruise port to spend a day at.

Hi guys, wondering if you could give me some insight, I'm going on this cruise 8/17/2019. my booking for rhythm of the nights is 3:15-8:15. My ship leaves port at 9pm. will I have enough time to get back to the ship?
Is the excursion booked through the cruise line?
it is but when I click on, it directs me to the website, so I don't know if there are different timings or if that is the only timing, thank you for your response.

Yes it did..
Can you buy a bottle of alcohol and bring it back on the ship ?
Yes, but they will hold it for you until the end of the cruise and then give it to you to take home...
Do you know how much you can bring on board ?
Las Caletas is not an island

Great video! So I have a question: We are planning an NCL cruise that is in port at Cabo from 7am - 3pm - With that said, how long was your tour and at what time did it begin? I ask because I went to their website and it didn't show times but it did show that there is a minimum of four persons. Any help is greatly appreciated. Again, great video!! :)
It began about an hour after we arrived in port and it lasted about 5 hours.

Do you reccomend buying excursions thru boat line or independent locals? I heard local is half price
We personally book outside companies 99% of the time. Although if you do, make sure you research the company. If you're new to cruising, especially 1st cruise unless just going to the beach I would suggest the cruiseline.
