The Curious Case of Florida's Wild Monkeys (Silver Springs + Madison Blue)

Florida is home to the highest concentration of freshwater springs in the world! We've explored about a dozen or so and can't wait to go to more. The springs are INSANELY underrated and one of the top attractions we've been to in all of our travels.
They typically have crystal clear, blue water and have cool and refreshing temperatures year round! Most have beautiful settings and many are surrounded by beautiful jungle-like vegetation and trees draped in Spanish Moss. They're incredible and are also a great way to view wildlife!
One in particular though really stands out- Silver Springs State Park! Not only because it's Florida's first tourist attraction and has glass bottom boat tours, not even because a ton of movies were filmed there, but because there just so happens to be wild monkeys there that carry a deadly disease! The story behind these monkeys is absolutely fascinating so we had to go see this place for ourselves an tell it's story!
On top of monkeys, you're likely to spot giant manatees (seacows), which are WAY bigger in person than we thought they'd be and they're gentle giants! You'll also almost certainly see alligators, hundreds of birds, fish, and turtles!
