  • THE DAY HAS OFFICIALLY COME!! Graduation ✅ License ✅ New Job ✅
    I am so happy to be starting work and I can't wait to bring you guys along on this new chapter. In this video you will get to see what steps I took to get started working as a dentist here in Oregon, as well as what is in my clinic bag, and of course a little weekend shenanigans with Rody, Romeo, and Teddy Blake ;)
    But most important of all - I will show you what my schedule is like as a newly graduated dentist (yes the schedule is light but we are easing into it!), and a little clinic tour.
    Hope you all enjoy the vlog!
    xoxo
    Jasmine

    Congratulations Dr. Jasmine, rn I'm a junior in high school and I'm still deciding if I want to be a dentist or a aviator, so far I've flown a few flights as a pilot but I'm also very interested in dentistry, keep up the great work and congratulations Doctor

    • @jasmineahrar
      @jasmineahrar  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you!! wow two great professions. Excited to find out what you choose! It all comes down to what you enjoy and the day to day life you want to have, and of course the continuing education timeline. For aviation you could become a pilot with 3-4 years of continuing education and for dentistry it takes about 8 years. But with dentistry you might have a more flexible/predictable schedule when you start working (it would be a Mon-Fri 9-5 situation most likely), compared to being a commercial pilot where you might have to travel days at a time and work through nights. Both are awesome in my opinion!

    I’ve been watching you for a while and I love that you’re still vlogging after school. Congratulations!! I’m a college student preparing for dental school and your videos are so inspiring!
    Unrelated but you’re so stylish. Do you use a Dyson airwrap for your hair??

    Jasmine! I just wanted to say thank you so much, for the valuable information you've shared about ATSU's program. I just had my interview yesterday with Dr. Holexa and he was so impressed with everything I knew about the school, and he was so excited that I had watched your videos. Thanks again and congratulations on finishing dental school!

    D1 student here! If I may ask a few questions...
    where/how do fresh grads usually job search?
    Also...is it true that you goto AEGD/GPR "only" if you feel diffident about your skills? It has no benefits in the long run in terms of salary or resume?

    • @jasmineahrar
      @jasmineahrar  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hiiii :) Congrats on starting dental school! Hope it's going well so far.
      The job search process can actually begin during D4 year. A lot of recruiters will come through your school for different dental companies, and you can start networking and getting your name out there during that time too. Other than that you can look at job listings online or even contact offices yourself and inquire about openings.
      Yep that is pretty true when it comes to AEGD/GPR as far as I understand. Some people also do AEGD/GPR to prepare for another specialty if they do not get accepted the first time.
      Hope that answers your questions!

      @@jasmineahrar perfect! It has become clear. Can you share just one website doctors/fresh grads use for job search? I just want to get some idea how variety of factors such as location, years of experience, benefits, and salary come into play in job search. Thank you for your time doc!

      Hi there! I am an associate dentist right now, fresh out of school and in Oregon. If I work 5 days a week for a whole year I will make about 200k before taxes.
