I just got the Walther P99 in the final edition version. It's my new favorite hand gun, even above my Glocks, Beretta's, Springfields, and others.... As you mentioned Walther was the first to come out with interchangeable backstraps, but it is my understanding that the P99 is the gun they first did it on. Love the history and features of this beautifully designed and engineered weapon. Thanks for the video!
If this gun had been released today it would still be considered revolutionary. It would also probably get a lot more traction in the market with social media and most people knowing how important an excellent trigger is for accuracy. I was able to get grab a new to me Gen 1 in excellent shape very recently.
@@TheGeekyNerd I double check with Walter coming to make sure it was still good. They’re not in limited production, they were in limited in portation who is the Walther P 99 is still very popular in Europe but for some reason not as popular in the United States
@@TheGeekyNerd plus the P99 has a bigger screen presence while the PPK can disappear into the hands of some actors. The P99 can also be slightly modified to fit their hand better and the P99 just screams Bond, even the newer generations
The ppq m1 had the paddle style mag release. The biggest difference is the trigger and the cocked striker indicator. The ppq m2 has the American style mag release.
Oh no you said Charles Bronson and shoud've said Pierce Brosnan and I own 2 of these Walther P99 Gen 1's and they don't get the proper respect but at least mine goes bang every time with each pull of the trigger and ALL types of 9mm ammo !!!
I have the P99 QA and fell in love with it as soon as I picked it up. Fits my hand perfectly and shot very well.
Carried this model as well as a PPQ as a cop here in the states. Waaaay better than the 17, 21 and M&P by far.

Shame they discontinued.
Caniks are a direct clone of the Walther P99. I just put a P99 on layaway. Walther and H&K are my favorite handgun manufacturers.
The mystique of this gun is amazing.
I owned one these 1st Gen ones. Best hand gun I had and I wish I still had it. Just got the new PDP.
I own two of the first gen P99s. It is my daily carry and top choice over my CZ, Glock, Beretta, HK, Sig and others in my collection.
Good man
One of my favorte guns in my collection

I have the Gen 2 AS. Been looking for a P99 for years. Absolutely love it, and it’ll replace my Glock 19 as my carry pistol once I get my permit
They are on limited production so if you want to get em, do it now before they are gone forever.
Yo tengo una p99 que no ocupo
Tengo una que no ocupo está nueva

1st Gen is my best handgun that James Bond use in 4 movies.
I agree as well, PPK is classic but P99 just fits better IMO.

Very true :)
Best 9mm, polymer pistol on the market.
One of the best fits and definitely the best striker trigger.
When you decock be careful your finger is not in trigger guard. That trigger snaps hard when decocked. It hurts if you hit your finger. Belive me.
Have a 1997 of this

Ah I did, apologies, always do that by accident.
Debating if I should buy one.
Yes
A little more preperation many a script would help. Smooth your delivery.
First comment and which variant of p99 is it AS version? (have not finished watchin the video comment)
This is the gen 1. Both gen 1 and 2 are AS triggers, but the gen 2 is marked as such.
@@TheGeekyNerd got it.
Not bad for a geeky nerd. Best a/s description I've seen.
Personally, I prefer the P99 AS to this P99 .... I also have a P22 .22LR 2nd Gen which is fun !
