Toby Price na crash uit Dakar Rally

Voor Toby Price was de Dakar Rally na 155 km in de negende etappe voorbij. De Australiër crashte en blesseerde zijn arm en schouder. Met een helikopter werd hij afgevoerd naar het ziekenhuis in Tabuk. Bij de auto's greep Mister Dakar Stéphane Peterhansel nog steviger de macht. Voor de Fransman was het zijn eerste dagzege van deze Dakar en zijn voorsprong in het klassement op Nasser Al-Attiyah groeide tot bijna 18 minuten.

It took a crash for him to lose and if I was running second to Price and won because of it, then it would be a hollow victory for me.

last year was worse. toby was going to win but stopped and didnt leave the side of a dyeing friend on the last stage.. in my mind he still won last year.
this year dakkar got him though, not that his not able, but some bad luck, miss judgment or bike failure which is part of racing beat him on the day

Not much protection on a motorcycle. The bikes are getting faster and a lot of money involved, pressure to do well. 🤔 it’s dangerous but also exciting, that’s what makes it such a powerful race event 🤘
