1946 Chris Craft Custom 20' Runabout - maiden voyage restored to concours

Impeccable restoration on this rare, 1946 mahogany Chris Craft Custom runabout. Powered by the original 130 hp Hercules M industrial engine, this boat rocked Lake Mendocino today. A real head turner! 9 years in this careful, family, restoration. Thanks Rick and family, what an incredible restoration. I give it two thumbs up! and more if I had them.

That boat would be pretty heavy. My Father owned a 1938 19’ Grew wooden boat with a Chrysler straight 6. I know that once it sat in the crane sling for a period of time the wood swelled up and she got heavy fast. Beautiful boat but not very fast. I think it was rated at 105 h.p.
