I always loved the sequence where Tony and Maria locked eyes across the room, and the background gradually faded around them, to symbolise them only having eyes for the other. The remake accomplished this well too.

19:03 I’m sooooo glad Titanic’s Jack and Rose was included. Not only is Titanic one of my all time favorite films, Jack and Rose are one of my all time favorite star-crossed lovers. Sure, their story did end tragically, but I can never resist feeling super happy or my heart getting all mushy whenever I see them, especially at the iconic “flying” scene, which is my top favorite scene in the movie.

Romeo and Juliette could be much better if it would be placed in the right epoche and not made "modern". It looks so outdated since probably at least 10 years, but it has great actors.
most of these "love at first sight" scenes are trash and unrealistic, they rely too heavily on painting a rose-colored romantication of what love as a whole really is supposed to be just to paint a picture of what Eros/'romantic/sexual love' in particular means. I believe in growing to truly love someone, not falling for loving a perfect idealization of someone cause that's just unhealthy and ruins more lives than that it improves them.
I know I've been feeling kinda aromantic lately, but I've always wondered why it's called love at first sight when you don't have any basis for loving that person. You haven't spoken yet. You don't know anything about them. Calling it love can only be a retrospective assessment.
Granted, sometimes "love at first sight" is more physical attraction than anything, but I'm here to tell you that it CAN happen: I was 17 and on a date, rollerskating. I saw a friend come in so I turned to my date & told him that I was going to say "Hi". Now, mind you, I'm really, really bad at skating, but I picked up speed and was doing very well. I raised my hand to wave to my friend but wasn't watching where I was going, so my skates hit the edging that marked the end of the skating floor and the beginning of the carpeted section...*WHAM* I landed right on my butt! My friend looked down at me and introduced me to HIS friend who had come with him. I smiled at his friend & said, "Hi...help me up?" but in my head I was hit with a quiet knowledge. It wasn't anything like fireworks or ringing bells, but just like an obvious fact, like the grass is green...the sky is blue...he & I were going to be married. Last September we celebrated our 36th wedding anniversary. (OK, you can go ahead and make the "You fell for him" jokes...everyone else does. LOL)

Romantic love is not special at all, and I think that the romantic type of love isn't real. More than half of romantic couples either break up with each other or divorce each other, And most couples who are still together are usually not happy being together. Also, there are a lot of toxic romantic relationships. Like an example is that abuse happens a lot in romantic relationships.
