I do love that Dropp sweater - so lovely. I was looking through some old yarn that my mother gave me ages ago and discovered that I too have some unspun yarn. Wow! Maybe I can make something from it! As always, thank you so much for sharing. Looking forward to March 30th and seeing the new items in your shop!

Welcome to the love of unspun yarn! I tried Nutiden and now it’s my very favourite thing to knit with. Your sweater looks lovely. And you are absolutely right about the colour of the Nutiden. The depth of their blends is so lovely.

Hey, a little tip for doing a tubular bind of with unspun yarn is to spin the yarn a bit (I usually do it by hand). When knitting with two strands you can spin each strand lightly in one direction (for example clockwise) and they ply them together in the other direction (counterclockwise). By doing that you will make the yarn much more sturdy and able to be used for a sewn bind off. It takes some time but it is so worth it.❤

I love all of the things that you make. Both of your sweaters are stunning. I especially love your, The first sweater. Not sure that I would enjoy the thicker sleeves. I am fine with the shape of them, it's the fisherman's rib that concerns me. I get pretty hot, quite quickly. 😄

Emma I found that it was impossible to get a nice bind off with unspun yarn (even if you pre-spin it or pre-felt it) so I bought a skein of Jamison and Smith in a very similar color and I held the J+S together with one strand of unspun to do a tubular bind off and that worked much better, looked smoother and was strong.... might want to try that.

I just knit a pair of sock in a brown like that and I love them. Our color palettes are the same, I also love rustic wool.

It's so wonderful! Spring has sprung! Your First Sweater really looks great, the yarn has an authentic deep roots vibe about it. The new limited edition dark grey also look naturally vibrant and would most likely go well with many garments. It's great to see the comparison between the two different shades of dark grey.

Love your Nutiden jumper - I've knit a Nightly in Nutiden and its wonderful to wear, so light and warm. Re tubular bindoff - yes I love it on one by one rib but dont really think it's worth the effort on two by two - converting is such a hassle and worse with Nutiden I suspect - and it doesn;t look as nice as the one by one. Just my opinion. Yay for us loose Knitters, knitting w unspun easier for us xx

Such beautiful yarns! I'm currently working on the Miles Shirt Jacket in another unspun yarn (manchelopi) and really wanted to do a tubular cast off, but after about 10 or so stitches I pulled it out (difficult, yes) and just did a regular old bind off, which in unspun doesn't look so bad. The sewn bind offs are just too hard with unspun yarn because of the breakage and I don't spin so didn't have a way to spin my unspun.
Rearranging 2x2 rib for the tubular bind off always does that because one is sort of doing a mini cable, but maybe the trick is to always do it on the wrong side of the fabric.
    Thanks for the podcast!

Hi Emma, Suzanne Bryan is considered a master knitter by TKGA. She has a few videos that maybe helpful with your tubular BO. She has three comparisons for invisible BO, one which is the tubular. Also, there is a video showing BO in the round without a jog. Have fun learning more! www.youtube.com/@SuzanneBryan/search?query=Tubular%20BO%202x2%20rib%20in%20the%20round
