@@Jennifer.Knits6 I think it's softer, that said I knit the Daytripper cardigan with the main colour being plutolopi and the colourwork in a variety of Lettlopi. I did end up buying nearly a suitcase full when we were in Iceland in Summer 2021, a skein or two at every grocery store and piles and piles of pluttlopi from the Icelandic Knitting Association in Reykjavik. I knit 2 of those cardigans and a sweater before Winter that year, and since then have knit several pairs of socks and hats from that stash. I shared some with my advent swap buddies and I STILL have enough to knit another 3-4 sweaters, etc.
Lol yeah I’m obsessed with Nutiden as well and I live in Florida! How disastrous is that? I got so obsessed that I’ve even started but the fiber batts and spinning it up on drip spindles to make socks and whatnot (small stuff). I still love the colorful silk/wool stuff too but working with Nutiden is an experience like no other. So tactile. ❤
I love nutiden. I was in a no-buy year but took a chance and bought some. So glad i did. It is soft and i have purchased some three times this year. I will be adding my plutoloppi as color work so that it can use it up as the plutoloppi is not next to skin soft for a whole sweater but the nutiden is. Glad i discovered it.
Thank you for the comment on plutoloppi! I recently was tempted by some but bought some more Nutiden instead. I really want to make a shawl after seeing all the gorgeous creations Jackie and Carmen have made on Knitting a Good Yarn!
Thank you SO MUCH Jeri! Hope we get to sit and knit together someday!!! Maybe I need to plan a weekend in central Illinois with a yarn crawl and knitting with you all ❤️❤️❤️
I actually almost didn't watch your episode, because I love Nutiden and thought I didn't want to watch someone trash talk the yarn. I scrolled by a couple of times (click bait almost backfired LOL). But then I thought I'd like to know why you didn't like Nutiden. So here I am! I also love Jackie's version of the Magnoloa Bloom. I'm not in favor of 12 sts/4", too easy to snag, and with Nutiden, it would probably break. I also like the idea of adding Mohair/silk. Jazz it up a bit. Loretta of Knit My Way Home podcast said she'll use mohair/silk with Nutiden in her next Magnolia Bloom. I love how your yarn colours are playing together, and look forward to your next podcast!
I’m so glad you joined! I appreciate your comments. I realized this week I can’t knit with Nutiden while my dogs are around. Constant catching and breaking 😂 I am still adoring the experience and absolutely in love with my sweater. Can’t wait to make more with Nutiden! I’m craving a shawl.
Omg I loved every minute of this episode! Thank you so much for the beautiful words about not just our podcast but our friendship too! And I am sooooo happy you’ve fallen down the Nutiden rabbit hole and cannot wait to see how your mag bloom turns out and whether you end up doing the fields of gold in that gorgeous yellow! So good! And I’m def subscribed so that I don’t miss any future episodes! Bravo!!!
Awwww Carmen! Thank you so much!!! I’m finding it’s so connected to the ebbs and flows of my energy. I’ve had to modify my expectations on output to respect that! ❤️❤️❤️
MMMM...I love the Nutiden with the mohair! I've been wanting to use my cones of mohair with some of my Plutolopi one of these days.
Plutolopi is definitely on my list of fibers to try! I’ve knit a sweater with Lettlopi but I hear plutolopi is softer?

So enjoyed your podcast, Nutiden is awesome. Nothing like it your sweater looks so squishy
Thank you SO MUCH!!! ❤️❤️❤️ You just reminded me to pull it out and give it more love this week.
Welcome to the podcasting world. Loved your episode! I have not tried nutiden yet but love plotulopi. Best wishes from a Canadian podcaster!
Thank you so much!!! I’ll have to check out yours! ❤️❤️❤️
🥰
Wow you tube just popped up your video. I see we are both new. So I am here to support. I just subscribed 😊
Thank you so much!!! I will check you out also. Appreciate it! ❤️
Is Nutiden the same as roving? I think it might be. I knitted an Elizabeth Zimmerman vest with roving and your description brings me back to that.
Yes it’s like pencil roving!
