I just swapped in a 3.55 LSD rear end into my 05 Mercury Grand Marquis. I ordered the Fabtech spacer and a hybrid u joint. This should be a direct fit. The new hybrid u joint is seemingly to wide to fit in the yoke with both retaining clips in. I can get one, but I am FAR from able to even see the recess were the other retaining clip snaps into. On my last and final attempt to make it fit, the one ring i can install, cracked out the yoke and came flying out. Now I need a slip yoke and I still dont have the U joint problem fixed. I went backwards. I am beyond frustrated with this simple swap. Any thoughts??
James Elliott yes it's the cheapest option vs aftermarket ones You get them out of 1998 to 05 cvpi im unsure of the earlier Aero style Crown Vics driveshafts The ones you look for don't have the police writing on them neither paint strips
James Elliott with that 4:56 I would definitely get a taller Tire in the rear 28 inch or 29 inch it will not affect the way the car drives it will allow you to take full advantage of those 4:56 gears
Excellent video My Man! I happened across a MMX in the junkyard recently and you are the ONLY guy to show how to tell the difference. Subscribed.
Thanks bud
