Great video! Keep them coming bro... Its not about the catch .. its about enjoing your day with your beloved fishing setup .. consider it if there a catch its a bonus 😊
Cheers pal, I’m getting along well with it all so far. Totally agree with you, I have really enjoyed some fishless sessions in the past, it’s all about getting out there. Thanks mate😊👍
Trusty dogfish has saved many a blank, great tip on the PTFE tape , thanks for sharing. Fished Fontygary yesterday, just 2 dogs and a lot of lost leads ! Chesil will come good at some point, at least the spider crabs will be back in force
Cheers Alan, just caught up with your vid, brilliant 🙂 feel like I have to shake a jinx off at the moment, things are just not going my way! Funny you should mention the spiders, dragged 2 in towards the end of the session, so the hounds should not be far behind now. Take care mate🙂👍
Seen the new reel from akios and some reviews so far it's seams ok but was hoping with this version they would try keep up daiwa with bringing a 6.4.1 main gear giving it the extra cranking ability. Nice to see a full fishing review on them not just a short review.
I hear what your saying, they feel a million miles away from my old Abu’s though. I’ll give them a good few sessions then hopefully a catch up vid with progress so far. Thanks for watching & your comment 👍👍🙂
Im always hungry after watching your vids Linc lol!, great stuff as always buddy, loving the new set up nice to treat yourself from time to time, stay safe brother see you out there soon
Enjoyed the video Lincoln, new rods look great! Requesting a dogfish catch and cook one day 😁 I know they are a pain to skin and not everyones cuppa tea but would be interested to see what you cooked up with one. Keep up the video's 👍
Hi! Yes, believe it or not, on my session prior to this one I took some kit to do a catch & cook with dogfish but blanked 🤦🏻♂️ I’ve not been doing very well lately so hopefully when the fishing improves for me the catch & cooks will too! Glad you enjoyed & thanks for watching & your comment 👍🙂😎🐟
Brilliant video! Love the cooking of the Gurnard! Paella, great choice! raw prawns in their shells to top it off next time? I see you don't use rod tip lights, so do you just rely on the sound of the spool or your torch to illuminate the tips? Great seeing the hounds being caught and released, such a beautiful looking fish! Tight lines 😉
Cheers buddy, yes, just a torch & tip tape for me, I can’t cope with focusing on a small dot of light! Believe it or not, I’m not a huge fan of prawns either, although I love fish, they are not my fave. Sorry for the late reply to this comment, I did not get a notification for it & just noticed it now. Take care buddy! 👍🙂
Hello Chris, not the most productive day but nice just to have a few casts with the new kit. Hopefully the next one will have a few more fish 🐟 plenty of room on Chesil if you want to come along… might need a bigger mess tin though! Thanks for watching matey 🙂👍🐟
Rods and reels look great, it's a relief when you know you bought well. The food looked great also. Unless mistaken, I thought Ray's were catch and release only? I need to check on that. Enjoyed the video, thanks for sharing.
Hi! No problem catching rays for the table, if in size it’s all good. When ordering “skate” in restaurants it is the (incorrect) blanket term for rays and you could be eating blonde, spotted, undulates…they are all sold as the same fish with no distinction between the species when purchased commercially. Skinning them is the biggest pain but worth the effort… I will cook one up on the beach when I finally catch another 😂 & yes, chuffed with the tackle so far which is a relief! Thanks for watching & your comment👍🙂🎣
Loved the new video lincoln, nice editing. Great seeing you have fun with the new rods too! Sorry to hear about the century.. are they hard to find these days?
Hi Joe! The last ones were made over 30 years ago now, so almost antique😂 They crop up for sale here and there, but those who have hung on this long are probably happier to keep hold of them now. It’s like cars really, although the modern equivalents are far better to use, some of us still like to drive the old ones…& you’ve seen my car!😂 hope your well & take care👍🙂😎
The Ray fishing has been very hit and miss this year . My best one this year came on a night when it was practically unfishable, I don't think this calm weather is helping things at all .
Hi Harry, I did a fair amount of research on various brands before buying, snapping tips seem to be a gripe that turns up on many brands here and there. I did have my eye on some Leeds Icon M Sports, but snapping tips seems an issue with them, but others have nothing but praise for them. Hopefully I won’t get any trouble with mine! Thank you for the feedback though & I hope the second rod is still holding up if you kept it. Cheers pal 👍🙂😎
@@anglerforlife7538 Leeda were a strong contender as I can’t justify spending the big bucks these days. There really is some cracking mid range tackle about. Cheers buddy😊👍
Hi Gary, I’m up for that buddy, we can do a catch & cook in the back of your horse box 🙂💪🏻… I may be using a Zimmer frame to get to the beach & pureeing my meals by the time I get 1k subs though😂

Well Done mate at least you caught one 🎣🎣👏
Cheers mate, I’ve had some rather rubbish sessions lately, got a nice sun tan though 🙂 thanks for watching 👍🙂🐟
Well done mate 👍 and let your new kit be lucky 🤞 keep safe and tight lines bud🎣👊💪
Thank you my friend, I need all the luck I can get at the moment😂 thanks again for watching 👍🙂😎👨🍳

I agree, nothing of size has come my way this year, but I’m looking forward to a go down Cogden end soon
@@fishdisco3107 My best this year was a 14-3 Undulate on a wild night in March, That's the only decent Ray I've had this year though .
@@southerner4566 wow, stunning fish buddy, I’d love to get an undulate on film. Well done 🙂👍
@@fishdisco3107 Thanks.
I bought a pair of those rods, first cast first time using them one snapped clean in half about two foot from the tip, never did get it resolved

Leeda icon m sport ultra power a great rod for the price .. but a little heavy for me
