This is my dream c5 ngl. I’ve just started saving up for one, and I’m studying all the videos of the builds I want. Yours is exactly how I want to style mine
@ not yet, my truck broke down and i got a new one. 2018 Silverado 2500 z71 Texas edition, will last me forever. I’m getting a trailer soon, and then it’s corvette time.
Thanks for the video buddy.. very helpful. Great tip about not going to the ground. Anyone who bags a car or bike to the ground in my eyes is an idiot unless its a show car thats not driven. You should leave minimum an Inch but most importantly the vehicle MUST ROLL without any air or you have a death trap. Whilst the bags rarely fail the hoses and fittings can fail. I have seen many harleys bagged to the ground and also seen people die and get injured when they blew out lines... A car dropping at 80mph to the ground is very dangerous, A Harley doing this is a death sentance... Stay Safe People..
Dope ride bruh. I sure hope it runs as good as it looks. I’m getting ready to do my entire suspension over with base model parts and some zo6 parts. I just hit 45,000 miles and I feel like that’s all it will need. If I can save up $20,000 grand I’ll probably use my car and the $20,000 to purchase a low mileage base c7 and then add air.
I've seen the car on Instagram, but video gives it so much more depth. Good info to explain some of what a person can expect. Did you make the covers / false floor pieces that cover the compressor in the hatch storage areas?
Love the car and great video. It also helped me decide on the c7 carbon spoiler. I want the same look for mine in the end, stealthy and aggressive. Props man.
Some things I noticed after doing an install myself and rewatching this: 1. On the airtekk page their front bag drill holes are opposite of yours. Yours makes more sense though, because putting the wider area, 2 screws at the bottom, caused slight issues for me getting it in there. 2. My bags are different than yours. The fill hole is on the bottom. Maybe airtekk built them upside down? They still work but very odd. 3. The washer idea sucks. I am definitely going back and trimming down the area and removing the washers airtekk gave me. 4. A question. Can you adjust the ride height without taking off the bottom of the strut? If so then how do you spin it. Thanks again!
Def remove those washers, decrease of clamp load on an upper arm (or any arm for that matter) is a baaaad idea. They must be trying to get a lawsuit. Not to mention as the suspension compresses you will see an increase on the upper ball joint angle and positive camber.
If I'm getting bags its so I can put the frame to the ground, but I do like your logic, I think it just defeats the purpose of what I want bags for lol. Also thank you for this video. I bugged enough people that I about knew all of it but now it's here for the public in this video :) Is there any reason you didn't mount the air tank to the sub? I have a similar sub set up (maybe same wooden box) and I was thinking about mounting the tank and compressors to the top part of the sub box. Also since aired out you said it will still roll, I assume it doesn't rub when aired out? Was the adjustability in the strut how you were able to get it to that? Also what are your wheel specs? Thank you!
Yes there is super limited info out there for bags and C5 Corvettes. I know most like the slam the car to the ground and the other few vettes on air ride are slammed to the ground. I can drive forward or back fully aired out and the adjustment was from the strut/coil, you can set air'ed out ride height with that. I have carbon front and rear fenders that are 12-16 week lead time if not in stock. With my wheel setup I cant run stock fenders. No wheel spacers. Forgster F14's 18 x 10 in Front +34 (Deep Concave) Forgstar F14's 19 x 12 in Rear + 24 (Super Deep Concave)
I bought an airtekk kit, stage 2. And the way you have it setup when it’s aired out, is the same way I adjusted mine. But one issue I’ve encountered during airing my car out, the back two bags like to pop out the air lines. I’m guessing that when the bags expand when they are aired out it pushes the line causing it to start to loosen up and leak. I have push connectors on them at the moment. I’m wondering which type of connectors on the bags are you using. This was my first time installing bags/system on a car but I’m happy how it came out.
I didn’t change the connectors so the ones that came with the bags are what I am running which is the push connectors I believe. Are you sure the line is actually coming out. My rear suspension pops when I air up.
@@ZeRoXceLzYn yeah the lines were popping out the rear connectors causing the bags to either leak from the connectors , or completely letting go of the line. My first solution was to try and get different angled push connectors. But they still kept on popping the lines out. But after examining the lines when the bags were aired out, the bags were causing tension onto the lines. Which I think was the main cause as to why they were popping out. After installing 1/8 male to female npt extensions on both rear bags it stopped popping the lines. Before i was only able to air out the rear bags partially before the bags added tension to the lines which made them slowly leak and slowly loose. Now I’m able to air the car out without worrying if the lines are going to pop out. Your comment that you still had the push connectors gave me hope. Thank you for the input.
is there a way you can change out the dampeners for the suspension so it will be smoother but it will also keep the air ride also can you give a link to what air kit you use
I had a stroke 4 months after I bought my C5 so I need this because I can't get out of my car now very good after 8 years let's get together and we'll discuss this I need this suspension
Do you uninstall n get rid of your Front & Rear Transverse Leaf Springs when switching over to the Airtek bag/Struts??? I have the FDF front upper and lower control arms I have to put in to get 70° out of my Angle Kit and they only say that you wanna connect your coilovers to them so I'm wondering if it will also be fine and work with the Air Ride Setup 💁♂️🤷♂️ if you have any idea about that, I'd greatly appreciate your $0.02 (would be nice to have the best of both worlds and Airtek and FV does say you can race and drift on their setups) so some clarity on that sure would be a big help... Thanks! 🍻
When you install bags or coils you need to remove the factory leaf springs. Since you bring up angle kits I am assuming that you are drifting the car. I no longer have bags on the car today. As I continued to go up in power it was impossible to get the car to hook on bags. So if your primary focus is function/race oriented I don’t think bags are the right fit
That is one nice car. How does it handle? Say a little auto crossing, does it lean way over? Is it a controllable ride as far as sharp turns? Does it keep wheels on the ground? Thank you.
The stance is great! Something I've considered doing, but maybe not until I retire the car from daily status. I carry a lot of stuff for band and I'm not ready to give up the trunk space yet. Great video!
awesome video, unfortunately on 5:41 you will notice you are not using the spacers that should go on the A arm up front, in order for the A arm to pull out and away from the air bag. So there is no trimming or grinding that need to be done on the A arm up front. Now you did mention about the positive camber which is true, but once you do the alignment you can easily make it so that it's back to normal. Overall good input on the video.
@@ZeRoXceLzYn Def not aka spacers. We used their kit which they provided spacer that sits behind the a arm. It did leave positive camber but after the alignment I went back to stock .
Have you tried sliding it at all? I wanna build a drift vette but i also want air. I just don't know how I feel about it with the clearance between arm and bag

Hi there sweet car we Thank You for your video . Quick question what's your opinion about how well it handles with air ride versus the shocks or coilovers what's your opinion if you experience this at all Thank you
my car truly setup for straight line speed and besides suspension tire/wheel setup has alot to do with that. Daily drivability is perfectly fun, I have fun on back roads but if you are talking about tracking your car I would just suggest typical coilover setup. It is tried and true.
is there a reason you chose not to use the airtekk management set up? i want to buy the 2 plus kit but all the other c5 guys seem to run this half and half mix with air lift.
Are you not a bit concerned by cutting out that front shock bracket to make room for the bag you've removed all the strength of the bracket? Hope it doesn't rip off
The original shock design is a single bolt through center with almost a rounded top. After years of abuse they tend to bow, the top on the bag is a triple bolt with a larger flat top surface area. I think it’s actually stronger then regular shock setup in my opinion
The Potential for “Blowing a Bag”? Sounds like a great reason for staying with the original Magnetic Ride Control System … even if the C5 is the First Generation of Mag Ride, it’s still better than “Blowing a Bag & damaging the car!!! 🤔👍🏽

How does it handle compared to stock
Handles pretty good, suspension is stiff tho
What's the point in bagging it if you don't want it slammed. Might as well just get adjustables. I'd rather take the risk
