@CarsandGuns66 Gotta be money smart, it can be pretty relaxing rather than sitting in a cubicle or doing something where you got your boss over the back of your neck breathing down your spine stressing you out. Not to say trucking isn't stressful you're going to have those times that you're going to get stressed out but it's more relaxing when you're just out on the open road part of the job rather than having to deal with someone breathing down your neck making life hell. Just be smart with your money, invest into some stocks, and save some money in a saving too while you're a company driver. You don't have to worry about paying for fuel, tolls, repairs (unless it's a minor thing like a burnt lightbulb). It's once you become an owner/operator being the boss of your own ship and loads, you have added stress of dealing with the fuel costs (especially right now with the market shut down for oil), all repairs old or new truck either you spend $600 on a new turbo when it goes out on your CAT or your spend $3,000 for a new turbo for your new ISX Cummins, you got your load board, trying to find loads, all that fun stuff. Then of course the bad drivers around you, really tight spots, no parking when you're out of time, etc. Just the most important thing is don't blow your money, and be safe. You're the pilot of your ship and you're responsible for what happens with that truck and the people around you should you not be taking responsibility to keep your rig under control. It's high responsibility, if you can maintain that then you'll do just fine!
Hey we all go thru our "what if moments" in life. I've watched you for two years and never posted but it's probably one of the most interesting channels. You have value my brother, stay frosty
Got a degree in IT back in 2001. Never was able to put it to use. Hated college. Waste of my time and money. I’m an aluminum cold mill operator now and I pulled down just over 80k last year. No kids, no wife.
I almost can't believe it! Nothing from Vasiliy for the longest time and then all of the sudden, BAM! Two videos in one week. This must a sign that things are becoming right in the world. Welcome back, we missed you!
Bro the thing is a college education can help in any profession, you don't have to settle for an office job. I'm still in college right now but I'm just chipping away at it. I also work full time in receiving and I just need better for myself. If you feel the same way don't let the debt or the challenge of it scare you off. Yeah it's expensive but definitely worth it if you want a salary job or get paid for what you're really worth(which is a fucked up situation) you can even learn skills and have the credentials to really kick off your own businesses or improve what you already have, not only will you learn cool things but it allows you to grow more as a person. Also I've been watching your videos for a while now, liked the recent uploads, keep it up broham.

You'd probably do better in college now than you would have if you had done it right after high school. Your maturity and life experience would help you. Maybe you could even go to school on Monday through Wednesday, then drive on the other days. I dropped out of college after one semester, then went back at age 24 and then graduated, then later worked my way through law school. It's not too late for you to go to college. Good luck, cool dude.
If you went to college, you'd just be rotting away behind a computer in an office. At least you get to work with your hands and see the world. And you really do make more money than most college graduates
@@VasiliyAgiy i mean there are goods and bads of it, and it also depends on what kind of office job that you have as well. Since the pandemic our office became strictly wfh and only remote so it's not all bad and it's a guaranteed paycheck every 2 weeks with benefits and such since well the USA literally charges you an arm and leg for it, so it's nice not having to pay that premium. Also not saying a college degree guarantees a good paying job, but it really depends on the person on how they use that degree to their advantage and not just waving around a degree hoping for a career job.
I hear this type of bs all the time - dude, there's more to life than either trucking or an office job. I got out of trucking at 33 because it was killing me how mundane the shit got. Long haul, away for four weeks at a time, seeing new places - no thanks. Started as an apprentice doing industrial roofing, five years later I'm a foreman and enjoy every minute of it. There are plenty of jobs out there that pay well, offer a career and are neither an office job or trucking.
Your fears and insecurities are valid, but you have nothing to worry about. Nobody is perfect, but you are exactly where you should be at this moment. Keep the rubber side down brother.
I'm a bricklayer. It's hard work, and sometimes working for yourself is tough, but, I couldn't be happier. Sure. There are times, just like the one I'm watching in your video, where you have one of multiple reasons to *moan* about your job, and how hard it is. I myself applied to college this year to study Computer Science, and hell, I even got accepted. So, I know how you feel. It's tough. Especially when you see other people in suits, going to their comfortable office jobs, and your standing their covered muck, with wet gloves, and it's about to rain for the third time that morning. But like @E.Rivera said, the grass is greener from the other side. So if you think college would greatly improve your circumstances, go for it. No one is coming to save you, let alone give you solid career advice. Our time is limited, but we still have a lot of it, so what's 4 or 5 years? Lastly, I thanked the college, and then declined their offer. It was a moment of weakness where I lost sight. PS Glad to see that your uploading more regularly again.
College degrees aren’t worth it in my opinion, I had the same opinion about college as you out of high school and didn’t go. But, after being told time and time again that I needed a degree, I finally went in my early forties and graduated. Now, I have over 50k in student debt, don’t have a job in my field of study and am making as much as or less than people I know without degrees. I’d rather be in your position, no student debt and getting paid to travel the country.
Unless you have a family… imagine a life where your kids grow up never seeing you? You think those kids will grow up to be great? Unless your single and that’s all you want, that’s great. Then when your over 50 and your back goes out, then what? When you’re young the world seems free to roam, it’s only when you’re older you wish you had options. What options do you have with a CDL when you’re body is broken down?
When I pulled reefer/van I had a switch installed to over inflate my airbags raise the landing gear a few inches and pull it out just enough so I could raise the landing gear all the way. Helped a lot in these situations
I'm 6'4", about 270lbs. The rare times I do pickup trailers that are placed like that they are of course dropped with the landing gear higher than it needs to be and loaded with at least 40k lbs lol. I have to crawl underneath the trailer and spend 10 minutes on my knees one turn at a time. I feel your pain man and have the same thoughts. Beats me how some of these guys manage.
I remember my teacher in High School in charge of a college admittance program would brag on his good days of his college days and how he was a big shot. And on his bad days would complain about how he only had 5 hours of sleep and couldn't grade our papers, made only 40k a year, and that being a teacher wasn't worth it.... The grass always looks greener from the other side!
Yes, but his degree has a longer shelf life than your CDL… and when your body begins to fail you and your CDL means squat, that teacher has a hundred other avenues in which to travel besides teaching.

The hard thing with trucking is we do make a lot of money out here but it is hard finding the balance between work and home life. But always remember to take time for yourself. Work is always there but life will pass you by!
You really should get behind the trailer door as you open it. Something could fall out and hurt or even kill you. As far as college goes, trucking is the only job you can live rent free and just save everything that you make. If you have no wife and kids or dont have to send money back home, that is. I have about 50k saved up with dreams to buy both a house and car in cash. Put some solar panels on the roof and the only bills I will have to worry about is water, car insurance and cell phone. @@andrewayers1246 more people graduate without debt than those with debt. Either way, I believe college is worth ulterior time and money as long as you capitalize timely and pick a good major.
If you like what you are doing and your happy, your doing something most Americans aren’t doing, a job they are comfortable with. You’re pretty much your own boss in a lot of respects , and not having someone watching over you all the time is a blessing. I have a friend who has a Masters in BioChemistry. He never once used it, he now works for himself doing what he wants , and he’s happy.
Most people that become successful would have done it whether they went to college or not. I think college right now is not worth the investment it's way to expensive for what it offers.
I don’t know what California’s manufacturing economy is like but where I’m at (Wisconsin) you can get hired basically anywhere (join our team banners EVERYWHERE) with no manufacturing experience , starting 18-30/hr depends on the job/shift/aptitude/ etc. You can move up fast, make decent money, home every night, not in an office, not around stuffy people, it’s not bad !!! And you didn’t give a cent to narcissistic college professors and administrators who really do believe they are batter than you, they are the “experts” 🤣 because they’re in academia. I say fck em. You don’t need it.
As someone that went to college, please don't look at it this way. A couple of notes on this: 1) Unless your family was well off or you had an exceptional IQ for grants/scholarships, you'd have debt to pay. 2) College is NO guarantee for success. Heck, you are seeing more people talk about trades and skills labor being in short supply. Why? Because generations back were being told how important it was to complete their bachelor's and now you have a job market that competes globally. Can some guy in China take your job as a trucker? No. So don't look at it as a "good thing". Neither path is good or bad. They're just different paths.
My best friend just graduated and he's looking at a very good career. I dropped out two years ago to be a trucker and I'm still struggling. I must say I feel pretty jealous that I didn't have the motivation to finish school.
I love watching ur vlog. Because of you I want to become a trucker. If U ever driver thru the 4 corners say hi. Alot of truckers go thru the 4 corners.
I was too much of a shit disturber in high school and a dick head in general in the early 90s that college was not even an option. I've been trucking for a while and I do enjoy it because I like driving.. however.. if trucking is making you depressed which I think it is I would look for a way out. Being away from home for so long can get old after a while as the years go by. It's not like we're on vacation when we're out here.. I drove past Disney world a few weeks ago I got to see the signs and then kept driving
I've noticed this lifestyle can really suck the soul out of you. I've been battling that by focusing more on the beautiful things like the scenery we pass by all the time and really paying attention and taking it in. Also music has been a great help. And phone conversations with family has probably been the greatest help. But overall I'm trying to come to terms with the idea that there's suffering in just about everything we do so I should just accept that and become tougher. I often think about my grandfather who did 10 years in a Soviet labor camp and he came out a better man for it by adapting his character, and so trucking doesn't seem so bad after all I suppose 🤔 But nonetheless trucking is a rough lifestyle and I'm definitely always thinking of a way out

College isn't the end-all-be-all anymore... I have a grad degree and don't recommend university these days unless you have a distinct plan with a major in STEM. And don't go into debt. Some won't agree with me, but trucking is great overall if you love it.

College can get a good salary in the right field, but with anything you do right, it will come with a lot of responsibility, which often means A LOT of stress. Grass isn't greener.
I know exactly where you're at. You're at the Coors plant in golden CO Haha. I use to pick up there all the time when I drove for may trucking.
Been there many times!
Petition to get Vasiliy uploading regularly again 📝
You got my signature 👋
hope your are doing well. we miss you
I don’t know what California’s manufacturing economy is like but where I’m at (Wisconsin) you can get hired basically anywhere (join our team banners EVERYWHERE) with no manufacturing experience , starting 18-30/hr depends on the job/shift/aptitude/ etc.
Welcome back Vasily
I'm sure glad to see you back man I really missed you you don't know it but I've spent some Lonely Nights with you hahaha😆😆😆
Vasily, you have two languages in your head, like my daughter. I tell Daughter to make both pay.
you’re back :000
It’s never to late. However, it appears you are doing well. Truckers rule the world.
I enjoy your videos very much.
It's not too late. Trouble is picking the right major/profession
You do know, you can do college courses online . . from anywhere in the US. The tests would be done at the college of choice.
As someone that went to college, please don't look at it this way.
A couple of notes on this:
1) Unless your family was well off or you had an exceptional IQ for grants/scholarships, you'd have debt to pay.
As you age your motivation will increase. The longer you struggle the stronger your resolve.
Happy trucking Bro
I drive truck as well
I'm in NYC
Drop and hook thanks for making videos
We're doing fine bud
Look forward to next video
Never to late my friend. Go for it.
Hey nice to see a new video hope all is well. Keep them coming.
What ever you wanna just go for it do what need to do to reach the goal man
You da man Vasily
YESSSSS ANOTHER VIDEO
I often think about my grandfather who did 10 years in a Soviet labor camp and he came out a better man for it by adapting his character, and so trucking doesn't seem so bad after all I suppose 🤔 But nonetheless trucking is a rough lifestyle and I'm definitely always thinking of a way out
You still can brother! Online classes while trucking! It’s doable and worth it. The truck is a rolling dorm!
The KING 🔱 again. Wet Dream tonight.💦 2 videos in two days. I’m Lovin’ It. Thank You Vasiliy.😎 And you have a great sense of humor/personality. Safe Travs’, Stay Cool.✌🏻👑
Nothing like listening to somebody mumbling it dark great video
Going to college isn't going to solve your issues bro. You'll trade a truck seat for a desk seat. You are talented and have a creative mind. Like me, you'll eventually find a way to capitalize on it without needing a degree. You have something most college grads don't: Experience.
Glad you're back dude. Keep hustling
Highly logical. 🖖🏼
Hey Vasiliy!!, at 18:37!!, it's a Vul-vul!!!😂😂😂
Sometimes what i do is just get the landing gear up just far enough so I can pull out and then wind it the rest of the way 👍🏻
It's tough at the top mate. 😁
My fat ass would have asked a yard dog to pick the trailer up and move it forward or I would have told them I can't get it, or moved the trailer next to it over if that one was not too close.
I usually drag the trailer forward 3 feet .
I have a Bachelors Degree and I’m thinking I should of just been OTR since age 25.
Could we potentially get one Vlog a month? Really miss your content good sir
Vasilly "Look at me now pops" Agiy
you don't need college - all you need is Grade 6 - just as long you can read, write and speak your name. And you can add or subtract using your fingers and toes.
I went to college, worked retired and now driving. Lot's of driver's have a Master's degree out here.
Was just wondering what u been up 2 .If
U can do trucking and college courses on line. Be glad u r skinny. My doc is constantly complaining about my cholesterol.
What did you wanna go to college for ?
i havent watched the video yet but im 21 been trucking for 6 months and im GLAD i didn’t go to college.
Holy shit you are young. I’m debating on going for a cdl after I get my associates degree since we have our own semi n trailer. I just wanna rack up money then get into real estate. It’s a constant dilemma in my head if I should or not lol
you should watch theo vons podcast where he interviews a trucker thats a woman and tell us more about it. i didnt know there was a darker and weirder side of trucking
Are still driving?
Not to late on the education. Try the community college
Trade school is s better option. Plumbing, electrical, carpentry. In your case videography at a community college or technology college.
You truckin Coors beer!
You know truckin Coors beer east of Texas is bootlegging!
East bound an down!
Probably next year ill be leaving trucking yo become a full time fire fighter. Right now im extra help here in tulare county california
They didn’t have a yard dog?
College isn't the end-all-be-all anymore... I have a grad degree and don't recommend university these days unless you have a distinct plan with a major in STEM.
And don't go into debt.
Some won't agree with me, but trucking is great overall if you love it.
This 100%
I'm in academia, and what you say is 100 percent accurate.
Dude what happen to the coffee shop?
You can still do trucking just get off the road. OTR sucks I do LTL home every day and LTL pays really good per hour. I wouldn't do anything else.
2:02 why don't you get a flash light. Instead of trying to look in the dark get a flash light so you can see. side marker lights are not going to help you.
Well I could definitely see just fine, they just haven't made a gopro that sees as well as the eye in the dark
@@VasiliyAgiy Oh well in that case disregard what I said glad your back btw.
College can get a good salary in the right field, but with anything you do right, it will come with a lot of responsibility, which often means A LOT of stress. Grass isn't greener. You just end up changing one brown patch for another. I have a PhD and and love every minute of my job that it gave me, BUT, there are days I would swap you in a heartbeat. The stress load for the pay is not always worth it.
Where u been man
