🇺🇸🇵🇭 I first visited Baguio City as a child in 1963 when the Philippines’ population was around 30 million. The country’s population is now around 119 million and Baguio City definitely looks over populated. Thankfully the climate is quite pleasant. Nice vlog, Jay! Cheers from the SF Bay Area!
Monday through Thursday it's not too bad. Friday through Sunday is full of visitors. Right now however, it's easter time so a ton of tourists will flock to Baguio.
Baguio temp feels not so different in the morning but night time special during the coldest month about end of January to February, you will feel the difference better. Baguio sits about 1,400m AMSL. I have visited Benguet (particularly in Atok) and only was there during the morning, first week of this March and the temp was 10°C (50°F), I wonder if it could even be colder at night, and the local told me definitely as plants freezes in their farms sometimes, literally. Atok sits about 2,300m when I visited the Northern Blossom farm (the elevation I'm mentioning is because I have a pressure watch intended for hiking)
My parents are from the province directly west of Baguio (La Union). I visited Baguio a very long time ago, much nicer than the lowlands. It looks a lot more urbanized, maybe about 4x the population.
I’m obsessed with Baguio! It reminds me of driving to Big Bear and breathing in that fresh mountain air. Ok I love that you took the bus, a very nice one too.lol. Gonna get the fam to do it. Those laying down VIP seats on the way back we’re awesome😱Didn’t even know this existed!🇵🇭
Beautiful Baguio City ! So Nice knowing where your Dad grew up ! Nice Hotel Room ! Delicious filipino foods ! Busy City & a large Market Place ! Beautiful Burnham Park ! Nice shopping great buys ! Enjoy Jay & safe travels !
Hello, You make me feel to go back to Baguio, last time was in College our field trip before graduating in Manila. My temp here is quite colder compare to Miramesa, I used to work there for a graphics company. Anyway thank you for featuring the summer capital of the Phils.
Thanks for tagging us on your vacay. Haven't seen Victory liner bus station in ages. That's our go to public transportation back in the days Zambales - Manila and vise versa.❤😊
@@Jaycation yeah , i did go already in that 3 mountain but my favorite is mount olis because of the 360views of sea of clouds. The highest is mount pulag.
Baguio is a beautiful city. Like that the bus depot was next to your hotel. That's convenient. Love the views. Have heard that if you start to feel some motion sickness look to the distance, don't look at anything close by that is zipping by you.
Next on Mallcation, Baguio City edition! Glad you ate some Filipino food in this vlog, even if it’s at Gerry’s Grill. Looking forward to seeing the 24hr Filipino food only video!
We came very close to losing 8 jars of ube bc the inspectors questioned them for carry on. Luckily the supervisor who came by & said it was okay bc they were solids. Gotta have your ube in Baguio & buko pie in Tagaytay😋
Wow, that trip looked amazing. You look like I do on vacation with all those souvenirs n gifts 😂 think the views were my favourite part. Hope you had a good journey back to SD, hopefully we'll bump into you next month when we visit 🤞
1976? Or 1978? Not sure.... But I'm not sure about the idea that he played chess at the Igorot Garden. Although Baguio Convention Center was originally built to host the chess championship between the two Russians.
Good job dude, Never been to Baguio, very informative, Nxt time i go back to Manila, im gonna try that route you did, Good thing i run into your blog,I also subscribe too, Im from LA by the way. Thanks again, see u at your nxt blog. Peace,,,
I have to watch back your other vids. I surmise you have to go back to the USA soon else your goodies might expire but you should come back for longer and do the islands so you can immerse in the culture. More power Kabayan!
I went to Baguio and they called it “The City of Pines” but pronounced Pines phonetically, and guess what the keychain was shaped as? - I wish I bought it lol
I enjoy this Blog. Did you leave your main luggage in BGC or did you carry it all the way to Baguio? Just wondering if there's a place where to leave your luggage in the city if you want to visit just an overnight in Baguio?
I watched this video months before coming to Baguio, but I booked in an other hotel because I was attracted of the pictures and location (I thought it was a high standing). It’s my first night, oct. 2nd, and it’s 3am looking for a new hotel. Cause I can’t sleep due to cars. The windows can be close but not locked (= no isolation), when I asked to borrow an umbrella, instead of giving me the nice white one (there was 2-3), they asked someone to bring an other. The umbrella couldn’t close, it was quite used and even have even some holes. It must“normally” be an executive room 😢 but it’s small and the shower door can’t hardly be close. I doubt of the cleanliness of the bed and the towels. I will not recommend this hotel “V…” Well I should have watched this video again before booking 😅

I remember my first visit was in the 80s, the biking area in Burnham was definitely less crowded.

Ain’t there in may I agree the customer service is different from San Diego. U have to wave them to get service.
I get that you have to wave them down but this gerrys was extra slow lol
Hi! 👋🏻 to answer your question in regards to motion sickness. They sell wristbands that you can wear or you can take meds for it.
Thanks for the tip!
Bobby Fischer (american world chess champ) used to play chess at the igorot garden/park
Wow i didnt know Bobby Fischer made it to the Philippines
