In my perspective as long as I can hear you perfectly fine the camera microphone is good. Even though the camera isn’t 100% the best I prefer for vlogging something light as a phone. You did a splendid job. Please keep up the good work.

g7x fam! the mk iii scared me with its overheating and tracking issues, I think at this price range of cameras the only competitor it has as for compactness is the Sony zv-1, I chose the g7x mk ii for the fact the screen flips too the top and not the side. The fact there is no mic input or retrofit for the mk ii does suck however I have found that using a rode lavelier mic and a zoom h1n is a nice way to capture crispy audio, keep up the hard work!
ohh and another great school is Tomorrows Film makers, they even have free classes on TH-cam and its only $97

Yes it is! I just received mine in June 2020. Not getting a new one until this one is ruined. Got it (g7 x mark ii) for a great deal. Yeah the mic on it is not stellar but I use an external mic. Great video!

@@shirleypope6419 hi Shirley, you can’t with this one. You’d have to use an external mic plugged into a recording source. For example, I use a lavaliere mic plugged into my iphone 11 with an adapter. If you go to my videos, you can see how it works.
After that, I upload and sync it with the video. Good luck! 👍🏾

I've been trying so hard to decide if I want to invest in the G7x II or the Zv1. I know the g7x doesn't have 4k, but your video helped a lot and actually gave a good example!!! I might go with the g7x for now as a vlogging camera. Ty!!

Hey I appreciate that, truthfully I don't have much hands on time with the Sony ZV1. What I will say is the Canon G7X is a pretty affordable and viable option for Vlogging or making YT videos even in 2021 given my videos reception

Personally for me I’d say a camera that allows you to have lenses would be better for music videos long term and professionally. But the G7X may be a decent start

Unfortunately you don’t even have an option to use an external mic, they don’t have a port for it on the camera

i have that one lol i don’t recommend it’s makes everything look weird kinda but at the same time it is cheap and i’m gonna sell mine and upgrade to the g7x 💓
the 35mbps video bitrate of the G7X II is now becoming obvious with today's 4K monitors and TVs. It's not as tact sharp and crisp like it was in 2016 when 1080p monitors are the trend. Today's cameras have at least 100mbps video bitrate. My GoPro Hero 8 and 9 have better video output now.
Honestly I wouldn’t doubt it, this is why I mainly use my GH5 for videos
Do you find the autofocus on point with the G7X mark II ? .... or does it struggle at times ? ( I read online the Mark III has some issues with autofocus )
Yes, funny enough I discovered that the G7X mark ii’s autofocus is kinda bad today ahaha. It’s useable for sure, but it does a lot of focus pulling sometimes so if that bothers you maybe another alternative would be best. But it’s a great camera regardless

I can’t say much for the Sony A7C, but you can’t go wrong with the G7X bro. It’s pretty solid
