SA depth is absolutely stupid 😂 to think this squad is missing Kitshoff, Kleyn, Lood, Moodie, Willemse and Hannekom. Can’t wait to see the younger players grow over the next few years!
what do i know, but we won the ‘23 world cup with scrum/forward dominance, so they changed the rules. maybe rassie’ s next move is to win it with the backs, with attack. that would be fantastic, and hilarious.
NZL missed kicks. That’s why SA won. Try not get too arrogant or ahead of yourselves. If NZL had got just one of their kicks over, they would have won….and that’s playing 14 on 15
Exactly my thought Elrich is the type of 8 I will play against NZ, Roos is very good against NH teams but I feel like he will meet his match against the more physical packs such as NZ and Argentina
Between now and the nest world cup, there needs to be some transfer of skill and knowledge from the older players to the younger players. Since we know there are old players who might not make it to the next world cup, so Rassie is busy with that transfer.
You can't suddenly drop Manie Libbok for Sacha for that kick only. I'm highly confident that all the coaches know already that Manie will play all the games just like Pollard.
Manie is an excellent player, but under pressure he folds. We cant afford this in the Ireland series, Manie proved this in the stormers urc semi-final. Pollard and sacha are the best options imo, unless we win by 20+ Manie will fold.
@@notsofriendlypanda633depends i think manie would be a great 10 15 bench cover can do the assists for willie or late in the game sub kriel put pollard 12 or sacha 15 and him at 10 then we have the attacking flair of libbok and the gk of sacha or pollard it wouldn't make sense to drop him we've had jantjies for years and he wasn't that great
Yes but the boks haven't won against Ireland since 2016, but they have beaten NZ 5 times since, plus Rassie has never coached SA to a win against Ireland, so he's going to be seeking revenge on home soil.

@@subbie5498 Because he is not playing well now. I don't understand why everyone keep telling me how well Manie played last year, it doesn't matter he's not playing well now.
Rassie hasn't changed and doesn't need to change his tactics from the World Cup group game, batter Ireland with physicality, and this time have a kicker. Jean Luc Du Preez is a better 8 than Roos and Buthelezi (both young 8s), this would've been the perfect series to give him his deserved start
People don't forget Phepsi is more versatile than Elrich so he is a better asset and it's also fair to give him a chance, see what he's got since Elrich is a capped Springbok already.

As a SA fan I do hope so, however we haven't played since the world cup besides wales. Things started a bit rusty against wales for us. Will be interesting to see if we can work out those kinks in time. If not, I think Ireland may take full advantage of that.
I just wish it was a 3 match series, I dont understand the whole 2 test series. WE WANT A WINNER! Will be disappointing to have it end 1-1 with no finale
@Cereal_Killa_za agreed I think a 3 match series would've been better for the fans but I understand why Rassie might prefer to have a game against Portugal instead of a 3rd game against Ireland
Ja I think there's a very good chance the Boks take the 1st match at Loftus, even though many of the Irish players did play there recently, I think its going to be a very tough ask for Ireland to take that one. The 2nd test though... depends on injuries, and how much Rassie rotates. Could end in a draw, but I like the Boks chances to go back to back...
Looking forward to how Rassie is going to shakeup the game plan. Mapimpi is timeless. What’s the story with Kriel? He’s been a big part of the defensive game so I’m interested to see what happens there. Maybe a shakeup in the backline?
i'm hoping there is a shake up. You cant be a backline player and all they can say about you is great defense. We are playing with a couple of extra forwards in that backline.
My personal feeling is that this is the squad to go through the Irish series where RE will keep selection consistent. Changes in for Portugal and then mix and match against Australia and Argies with the strongest 23 selected for NZ.
With such selection headaches it's amazing SA can scrape a team together, I'm joking of course, when a team can supply 3 or 4 players of equal ability in every position, they should never lose a game, it explains why SA win WCups, if one player gets injured another just gets dropped in, its surprising though that tiny countries like Wales and Ireland, who can just about field 15 top players, can compete and beat the boks machine, Ireland have a number of key players missing for this test and its a noticeable drop off to the next player, I think that plus the conditions such as the altitude put the odds massively in S A favour, but lets see if Ireland can upset the apple cart.
That is Lukhanyo Am's Jersey. If he is 100% fit he should start. He must be given the same benefits as Pollard, Eben, Siya, Marx, etc.. When they come back from injury, straight into the team. Because he is that valuable.
Those players u jst mentioned when they are out you could see we missing something example when we lost Malcon Max on the world cup the was a huge diff same to Pollard hence we lost the game against Ireland we miss kicking cz the game was so tight .coming to Am its a diff story cz kriel is outstanding on that 13 jersy so Am has to work hard to get it back
Both are good. Libbock has real attacking X factor. Boks backline actually looks dangerous with Libbock probing for holes. We have ridiculously fast wingers. Should be using them as much possible.
Arendse looked like he was coming off of a concussion, as he decision making and movement was off. Had a bad game. He mad a mental mistake that gave away a try in a URC final. Will be Pollard and Willie 10/15 or Fassie at 15 and Willie on the bench.
Could be. Don't think I've seen Arendse make a mistake before except for losing the ball on NZ's try line in the RWC final. But that wasn't his fault. It was hammering it down and the ball was wet. His error rate is pretty low.
@@JayzVeez He caught a ball from his teamate's obvious knock on at the kick off. Basic things. That led to try off the resulting lineout. He also just played poorly. To drop Libbok would be criminal. He provides the oomph and impetus to the backline. Major error. Pollard is slow and no vision, he is past his best. Get Zulu to kick (and play him in place of the aging le Roux) at fullback.
Handre Pollard is a veteran, EXPERIENCE Bok's flyhalf. He is an obvious first choice if fit! Rassie will pick the BEST BOKS XV against the ferocious Ireland.
Pollard's place kicking is close to being on par with Morne Steyn. We just need to get the win against Ireland. Can experiment a bit more against Australia and Argentina. No away games against NZ this year so a rugby championship title is a must this year!
