Your volume is great in this video. I have the same goal and many of the same books on my TBR for this year. I'm on track so far. You've had school and that was your priority. I hope you're able to reach your goal this year. Because of you I want to read Stephen King. I don't read books with a lot of graphic language (I know it's almost impossible too avoid) or supernatural so I don't know which one to pick😬. I picked up Misery from the library last week and so far it hasn't been to bad. The writing is rich and I really like that. I feel like I'm right there. Thanks so much for the Nigerian recs!!! I'm very excited to check it out.

I think there are indeed some King with probably more technical intense horror, supernatural elements, but so far I've read the more accessible ones, and I've not read Misery, which is one of his more popular ones, but I know his one of his easier and least supernatural one. As I read more Nigerian fiction, I'll probably recommend them as well. Thanks for watching always

Misery and Cujo are not supernatural, but realistic horror. I can personally recommend Misery (I've not read Cujo).

WOW! You have a bunch of good reading ahead of you. Per Introductions, they often contain spoilers, which I do not understand. I also skip them... always. They should put them as postscripts.
If you only read one book this year, it should be 1984. It is not my favorite book, but it is an important book; it is a must read and so many book directly or indirectly take from it. If I were to vote, I would follow 1984 with To Kill A Mockingbird, Rebecca, then Lonesome Dove (broaden your genre selections, and a very easy read).
On the other end of the scale, ones to read last would be Middlemarch, Olive Kitteridge and The Secret History. Middlemarch, whether you consume it with your eyes or with knife and fork, it is about the same - very dry boring, pithy and not very tasty - probably better consumed with knife and fork than consumed with the eyes. I realize other people love it; I hated it. Olive Kitteridge was DNF for me. FOMO - it is a real thing. Your experience with Song of Achilles should tell you that. Don't believe everything you hear on tiktok or IG. Personally, I did not see what the hype was about for The Secret History (save your $ on that one).
As a Nigerian, I would love to hear your reaction to Things Fall Apart.
Short story: I own a really old copy of Rebecca. It was missing the last page. Rebecca is so good that immediately upon finishing everything in my copy, I drove to the local library JUST to read that last page. Worth it!

My gosh I really loved this commentary. Definitely taking notes and moving 1984 and Rebecca to the top of the list. Thanks for watching and taking your time to write this comment. I really appreciate it.

Hi brother. Reading book is better than a not reading one. Hope you enjoy reading. Will meet in future because we have common liking. All the best.

You read ONLY TWO of 24 ?!?!?! Yeah, well, I guess that is the reason I don't make lists. As long as I am reading something, I am ahead of the game.
