the family is from Afar the Horn of Africa and the fact that you commented “these people are poor” at least they don’t feel stressed from taxes and laws. But I do find it fascinating that I can learn more of this part of my country 🇪🇹 where my parents come from
Poverty is, I think, mostly relative but sometimes it is absolute. Here I travelled as a guest of a NGO dealing with issues of poverty and indeed saw malnourishment and heard of high infant mortality. Compared with the tribes of southern Ethiopia, people here did not look so well fed, and there were tensions I felt with the central government extracting what they felt to be 'their' salt and taking the profit. Note this was 2 years ago and things may have changed.
@@NomadArchitecture Is there a reason this tribes suffer from malnutrition while owning large herds of livestock? I'm Kenyan myself and have always wondered about that with the pastoralist tribes in our country too.
@@njeriwachiraa ,nomads keeps livestock for pride. The larger the number of animals you have means more respect from your community. Afadhali wafe njaa ama wasisome waishi na heshima ya kuwa na mifugo wengi.
My sentiments also. I love their simplicity: babies on their back; one sleeping. I once met a cab driver from Ethiopia. He repeated "They're poor, they're poor," I said:"money's not everything. They've got what we (in the U.S) don't have. working together without fighting. ...and I bet there is love....I gave him the biggest tip I could. He said : This is too much" I said "Give it to Ethiopia."
Even though the climate may be extreme at times, I would love to experience life there, these may be "My People" and I would feel right at home with or without these so called "Luxuries of Life"!!!
Cause my mom and her family are Afar and I lived with them for 4 years and eventually learned their language or should I say my mother's language and I am thankful that I learned Cause I am able to understand what they're saying and thank you for uploading this video Cause I'll be able to share this video with my mom and chat about it
I had wondered about winds' effect on their houses. Their mats are reminiscent of Sahaptian and Salishan tule culture, their house frames are reminiscent of Algonquian longhouses and their use of rocks for anchoring their houses is reminiscent of perhaps Siouxan or other Plains peoples' historical use of the same for anchoring teepees. I haven't noticed but, I would imagine there to be a chimney (smoke hole) in the middle of the roof of each house. That would be largely identical to Algonquian architecture. "Great minds think alike".

Waaaaaoooo women in Africa do a whole lot, I am impress. Man we don't do a lot
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I so admire these resilient people,I’m mainly seeing women.
Probably the men are herders ? They have to travel far, under harsh conditions for their herds to feed ?
The idea of a nomadic lifestyle is much more attractive than the reality here shown in this video. Thanks for sharing.
There is so much to learn to live so close to the natural elements.
Amzg, I can't live as like as them,, may God live with them,, and then their kids grow with joyfull
They are happy.
Great work by Ethopian women.
the family is from Afar the Horn of Africa and the fact that you commented “these people are poor” at least they don’t feel stressed from taxes and laws.
@@NomadArchitecture ,your videos are amazing. Have been following you since the time you were in Mongolia.
@@imutimwiti7606 Jambo la kushangaza kweli. But to each his own.
Great culture, great people, the women force is stronger and brilliant
Bless them 🙏🏼 The way they all work together and help one another.
That’s humanity fir ya
My sentiments also. I love their simplicity: babies on their back; one sleeping. I once met a cab driver from Ethiopia. He repeated "They're poor, they're poor," I said:"money's not everything. They've got what we (in the U.S) don't have. working together without fighting. ...and I bet there is love....I gave him the biggest tip I could. He said : This is too much" I said "Give it to Ethiopia."
Even though the climate may be extreme at times, I would love to experience life there, these may be "My People" and I would feel right at home with or without these so called "Luxuries of Life"!!!
Yes, Poor people trying to survive and happy. Political leaders must awaken from their political ambitions and reach these people.
No please keep the government away from them
@@tomstaal7857 Hahahha
this is their way of life, I wouldn't consider them poor

The more materials you have, the more you complain.
Me also
To see how beautiful all of the people are is a special treat.
All Praise for creater, he only help and save them. And we always obey him for
giving our life more better than them
Thank you for sharing. Absolutely fascinating!
Thanks!
To be part of the earth yes I’ll live here knowing I’m not destroying the earth
