We have one of these and it’s excellent. Very easy to put up and take down. Sturdy in the wind and keeps the weather out nicely. Some silicone in that awning rail would help a lot. Great product.

Hi Graham, many thanks for watching. Zero issues, it’s been a great purchase and it’s our go to choice, the Kampa air awning hardly gets a look in. It’s not cheap but in our opinion it’s worth every penny. Best wishes, Helen & Dave 👍
We have recently bought the Dometic 390 air awning and we have been looking at sun canopies. I guess you might have found the perfect canopy for us. Thank you for sharing, this was so helpful. Best wishes Mike and Donna

Informative vlig, you've probably seen we've got the 300, find it really good in the winter & rainy days to leave dirty boots in, dry the dog etc and as you say, provides good wind/sun shelter in the sun, robust, too. I have a good technique for packing it away which you may or may not do, might include that in the next vlog.

Hi Wayne, thanks for watching. It's a great piece of kit and I must say, other than the caravan itself this is the best purchase we've made since we started caravanning. Thanks again, Dave & Helen.
Thanks for sharing that. They're very good, looks very smart too. Very similar in principle to our canopy which folds away into a bag on the awning rail. I like those side panels, they really make all the difference. Now that we have an air awning, an air porch awning and a canopy, it's hard to decide which one to take :-) When we go to France in a few weeks time we're taking the canopy. We have a front sun shade and are taking a couple of cheap windbreaks, as it can get a bit windy. I think I'd buy that with the sides if I was in the market for one.
Thanks Graham, must admit, got enough tackle to start my own camping shop. Looking forward to seeing your France trip, look out for those BMW drivers 😂👍 Cheers Dave & Helen 👍
Hi Dave, thanks for watching, we love the sun canopy and use it 95% of the time, please see a link to our Amazon Shop Page link below. Once there, click the awning accessories group and you’ll see the lights there 👍 www.amazon.co.uk/shop/caravan...
Hi Mark, thanks for watching. To be honest, we are using a ground sheet which we had before we purchased the sun canopy. It's not quite perfect but good enough for us (see link). Worth speaking to your nearest camping shop if you want the exact fit. amzn.to/3TO5YEQ Cheers, Dave & Helen.
Hi Robert, thanks for watching. It handles well in the main. We have some side walls which are an optional extra and we have found if it's really, really windy (gails) then they are better to come off and let the wind blow through. If it's just an average blowy day then sides on is fine. We use this canopy 90% of the time and now only use our awning if we are out early or late season. No regrets buying it! Cheers, Dave & Helen.
Hi Joe & Tracey, we find that this is our main canopy now from March to end of September. We’ve had it out in 55 mph winds and it’s been amazing and it hasn’t leaked but do bare in mind the following. It’s a sun canopy not an awning so three sides of it are open (unless you purchase sides which we have) but ultimately it’s a tent like material but it’s strong compared with most other products we looked at. Also, as with all awnings/canopy’s you will need to add a coat of waterproofing after a while. We’ve had this 2 years and hasn’t re coated it yet but I will do at the start of next season using Fabsil, it’s quick easy and highly effective. It’s one of the best purchases we have made. Not cheap but you get what you pay for! There are links to it in our Amazon shop. ATB Dave & Helen 👍
Correction to below comment, had a look at Dometic specification and it looks like your awning is 4m wide at the back, 3m wide between the front air beams, and 2.5m from side of caravan to the front opening. So falls inside the CAMH club rules. S x
Great video. I was tempted by this canopy but in the end have got the Vango Airbeam sky canopy as I’ve only got a 2-berth and they do a 2.5m, I was worried a 3m might extend into the curved part of the rail. They look very similar. Also cheaper 🙈
Hi Carla, thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Congrats on your new Vango. We love the sun canopy and use it as much as possible. Happy travels. ATB, Dave & Helen.

Hi Brad, thanks for dry y and subscribing, just subbed you back too and gonna look forward to catching up with your vids, your channel looks great. Cheers Dave & Helen
I love the look of the canopy, we have an air awning which was great for extra storage on our 2 berth that we had. We’re currently looking for a new caravan. My question is what do you do about security for chairs tables etc while you’re away from your van? Do you simply leave them in situ? Thanks for your brilliant videos as always, I am working my way through them all 😃
Hi Sandra, thanks for watching, we have this canopy mainly for the summertime although we do use it in winter. We normally leave chairs etc in situ. but we put away our grills or any valuable stuff. We weight up the site but generally no issues. (So far!) Thanks, Dave & Helen 👍
Hello there, can’t believe I’ve been caravanning for over 2 years now and only just found your channel! I was looking for a canopy as an alternative to an awning and your video popped up in Google. I also had a look at CAMH club with a view to joining. They seem to have a lot of rules (I suppose they have to) and one rule is a width restriction on awnings of 2.5m as it would not fit their standard pitch. Have you ever had any issues putting the canopy up on their sites? I can see you use their sites mostly. Also liked your CCC vs. CAMH club vlog. So looking forward to watching your other vids, all the best, Sue x
Hi Sue, many thanks for your lovely comment and feedback. Actually, I made a mistake in the video, the width of the canopy is in fact 2.5m, so no, not had any issues. We have used the club sites a lot but we are also starting to really appreciate the smaller private sites, CL’s & CS’s (private sites affiliated to the clubs). They offer some quirky and unique benefits and are generally cheaper! Thanks again, really appreciate your comment. ATB Dave & Helen 👍
Hi Dave and Helen , what do you recommend for standard awnings ? I have a Bradcot Aspire 390 air which is quite bulky for short trips . Any experience with smaller porch awnings ? Thanks
Hi Craig, we also have a Kampa Rallaye 390 air pro. Great awning but like you we find it bulky and heavy but good if we need extra space when grandkids in tow. We don’t have a porch awning but we do have a Sunncamp 390 lightweight awning but TBH we don’t like it. Doesn’t handle the wind too well and although it’s waterproof it just doesn’t feel strong enough for the job. So, we just use the Dometic sun canopy March to October 95% of the time and we really like it. Thanks for watching. Helen & Dave 👍
Thank you , that makes sense so I’ll maybe keep the heavy duty for longer stays and look at a canopy as another option. To be fair it’s just to keep things dry or shade near the door.
Looks lovely Dave but a bit concerned about that strap stretched across like that , could be a trip hazard. That’s because I don’t pick up my feet properly I’m told 😂 One less Ghost Ship a week and you’re loose pounds 👍🍻cheers
Yeah, I think the strap should go under the ground sheet to be fair. Not sure about the Ghost Ship though, I’ll try cutting sugar out in my tea 😂😊 thanks for watching Ian 👍
Hi Dan, they are quite dear, think that's about what we paid but we got them from Norwich Camping www.norwichcamping.co.uk Our friends bought them direct from Domestic at a stand at a show and paid a bit less. Cheers, Helen & Dave
Hi David, we have a Kampa Rallaye Pro air awning, a cheaper thin summer awning g and this fabulous sun canopy and that’s our go to 95% of the time. The only time we don’t use it is if it’s really wet and windy and at that point we don’t use the awnings either. Deffo no regrets buying it and it’s still looking like new two years on. It’s also really quick and easy to put up. Everyone I know who has one, loves it 👍 Thanks for watching. Helen & Dave 👍
Hi Dave, I have an Omnistor 1200 sun canopy and have to put it out and take it in every night because it moves in the rail and makes a lot of noise at night! We are in the process of looking for an inflatable sun canopy and because we subscribe to you (and hopefully you do us 😂) it showed me this video! Couple of questions for you.. do you still like it and is it noisy at night? Would you recommend Cheers Graham and Claire x
Hi Graham & Claire, thanks for watching and we'll head over and check your channel out. The sun canopy is our go to 99% of the time but if it's particularly windy or cold we then reach for our Kampa Rally air 390 awning. We would recommend it for sure. Thanks for watching and will head over to your channel shortly. Cheers, Helen & Dave
@@HelenandDave thank for the recommendation, so no noise at night? time for me to do some research. Appreciate you checking our channel out, us caravanners need to stick together 👍🤣
Hi Gary, I’m really not sure, I don’t know much about motorhomes. The Motorhome would need to have an awning rail around it same as a caravan and then the next important thing would be the height. I’ve never seen one on a motorhome but that doesn’t mean it’s not possible but it’s worth speaking with a dealer. This link may be of some use. ATB, Dave & Helen www.glossopawnings.com/awning-size-guide

You pay same price as on Amazon but we get a small commission. www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B011XX69KM?linkCode=ssc&tag=onamzcarava0c-21&creativeASIN=B011XX69KM&asc_item-id=amzn1.ideas.2Z4I00LXFBTPX&ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ons_mixed_d_asin

Nice video and review. Great channel. New follower here. Crow
Hi Brad, thanks for dry y and subscribing, just subbed you back too and gonna look forward to catching up with your vids, your channel looks great. Cheers Dave & Helen
Been looking for a bin for our awning, can you tell me what size your black dustbin is please? 👍
Hi Leigh, this is just the perfect size for us and here is a link to the bin we purchased on Amazon. Thanks for watching, Dave & Helen
Thanks Dave but I’m not getting the link 🤷🏻♀️🤪
@@leighrandall5347Sorry, here it is amzn.to/409M9ug
@@HelenandDave got it, thank you 👍
@@leighrandall5347 my fault sorry 👍
@@HelenandDave thank you, if we get summers like last year it would be very useful.
So looking forward to watching your other vids, all the best,
Sue x
Hi Sue, many thanks for your lovely comment and feedback. Actually, I made a mistake in the video, the width of the canopy is in fact 2.5m, so no, not had any issues. We have used the club sites a lot but we are also starting to really appreciate the smaller private sites, CL’s & CS’s (private sites affiliated to the clubs). They offer some quirky and unique benefits and are generally cheaper! Thanks again, really appreciate your comment. ATB Dave & Helen 👍
Looks decent that 👌
Thanks, we’ve been very happy with it. Not cheap but a case of, you get what you pay for. Cheers, Dave & Helen 👍
@@craigwaterworth9123 works for us 👍 thanks again Craig 😊
Looks lovely Dave but a bit concerned about that strap stretched across like that , could be a trip hazard. That’s because I don’t pick up my feet properly I’m told 😂 One less Ghost Ship a week and you’re loose pounds 👍🍻cheers
Yeah, I think the strap should go under the ground sheet to be fair. Not sure about the Ghost Ship though, I’ll try cutting sugar out in my tea 😂😊 thanks for watching Ian 👍
Dave, me again ..where did you get your sidewall set please . I'm looking to buy now and they are £240. Ta Dan
Hi Dan, they are quite dear, think that's about what we paid but we got them from Norwich Camping www.norwichcamping.co.uk Our friends bought them direct from Domestic at a stand at a show and paid a bit less. Cheers, Helen & Dave
Do you still use this? How has it fared? Any regrets? Many thanks, David
Would you recommend
Cheers Graham and Claire x
Hi Graham & Claire, thanks for watching and we'll head over and check your channel out. The sun canopy is our go to 99% of the time but if it's particularly windy or cold we then reach for our Kampa Rally air 390 awning. We would recommend it for sure. Thanks for watching and will head over to your channel shortly. Cheers, Helen & Dave
@@HelenandDave thank for the recommendation, so no noise at night? time for me to do some research.
Appreciate you checking our channel out, us caravanners need to stick together 👍🤣
Would this be good for hot Spanish sun?
It would be perfect, yes 👍
Inserting into awning rail:
Groundsheet - under rail location, place canopy/awning
on top, otherwise, you will scratch the life out of it.
Thanks for the tip, Good advice!
Could you please tell me if this canopy is good to use on a motor home burford motor home
Link doesn't seem to work I'm afraid.
Hi, apologies, try this one. www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00T36Q5PQ?linkCode=ssc&tag=onamzcarava0c-21&creativeASIN=B00T36Q5PQ&asc_item-id=amzn1.ideas.114RB3Z985Q54&ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ons_mixed_d_asin
Good luck with air products hope you have more luck than most people they’re unreliable.
Been using Kampa air products since we started Caravanning 7 years ago. Never had a problem Steve 👍

We've had 2 Kampa tents for years now, never any problem with either of them. Have only parted with them due to us getting a caravan
it´s 2,5 m x 4 m
That pump is so tough, better with an electric one
Funnily enough Norma I was thinking of maybe getting an electric pump, not for the canopy ( it’s up in 2 minutes) but for the Awning we have, that is quite hard work. Thanks for watching. ATB Dave and Helen 👍
