My brother recently passed away and the moment I heard this song his mates came to mind. I am so grateful he had such good mates in his life. They're awesome blokes who were always there for him when he needed them and they've been such pillars of strength for me in his passing and helping with funeral arrangements. Couldn't ask for better mates. X

My parent’s went to one of Lee Kernaghan’s concert and my dad proposed to my mum
And a couple years later they went to his concert again and my dad throws my mums hat and hits Lee Kernaghan’s hat
off and inside it’s signed him and him giving his best of lucks to my parents and he remembered them :P
When that was written it was based on my 1977 HZ ute with a 253 V8 complete with the dents and noisy exhaust and with a clunky 3 on the tree gearbox which I later changed it to an auto matic and my then wife was told back in 1994 but no hole in the roof by my brother in law Colin I kept that ute till 1999

Got this song on my phone's playlist, that I use when we get deployed during the fire season. It's bloody true as this song, we've all only got those few mates that'll you go through heaven and hell with and back again! I work in an environment where you trust the person at your back, and no one can understand that bond, but this song captures it. And of course, being a Proud Tassie boy it's great to see Lee doing this with the Wolfe Brothers!
No truer words have ever been said. This isn't just some cheesy, cringy song about friendship, no, it is absolutely amazing and captures that essence of friendship without any cheesy lyrics or meanings. I love this song so much that I learnt how to play it on guitar.
