I’m hopeful this means their goal is to eventually catch us up on the JP release cycle so that we can have worldwide releases some day. It’d be SO sick to be able to go into the final arcs of this series on day 1 rather than needing to dodge spoilers for 2+ years.
Man, I can totally see a February or March release date for Daybreak 2. That early 2025 date makes me think they want to release Kai here asap. A fall 2025 release date for Kai would be crazy! 🤩
"Early [insert year here]" in the games industry usually means January or February, March at the latest. Personally I expect NISA to slot this into their February release slot. UNLESS voice recording isn't finished yet and this gets screwed over by the VA strike (which for the record is justified, but it still would suck for me personally if I have to wait fot Trails longer because of it).
Ah yeah I forgot about the VA strike due to all the AI stuff. That could definitely cause a short delay if certain VA's aren't available or this situation goes on for a while longer. We'll have to wait and see how that affects things.
I'm not gonna lie dude, I'm glad some people were blindsided but I actually saw a few days before the announcement someone popped their PS5 Kuro 2 disc into the system and it popped as "Trails through Daybreak II" logo and everything. I wasn't THAT surprised but still a welcome thing indeed.
@RetroNerdyGamer the announcement itself wasn't really a surprise. It was kind of a given NISA would do this eventually, seeing how the Falcom games are among their best selling releases. The release date is pretty surprising though (or release window I guess).
Gee willkers your hole month early ×) did kondo give some secret access 😉 Very excited for daybreak 2 im thinking there gonna push kai even erailer then kuro 2 very well made video
My Uncle actually works at Falcom so he got me early access xD true! The wait seems to be getting shorter and shorter. Which can only be a good thing for us western fans 👀 appreciate the compliment Kitkro👍
...Huh, I though that I had seen this announcement trailer already? One second... Yeah, this was on the Daybreak 1 Steam news board on July 23, about 4 weeks ago. Neat to hear that some people were blindsided by it though.
That's because this was recorded 4 weeks ago xD got distracted with other things and simply forgot about it 😅 I know it was teased for Anime Expo but I didn't expect an actual trailer. Just an announcement with a logo reveal (that was leaked beforehand 😔)
Kuro 2 starts on February 20 so... I think they should release it at that exact date as well. I'm hoping Kai gets released on 2025 as well. It would be wild if they release Kuro 2 and then announce the next one as well.
Ooh that would be cool! It won't be long now... we're actually getting closer to WW releases. Even if it's just significantly reduced wait times compared to previous releases, that'd be great too.
Oooh yeah, a reaction video to Daybreak II's announcement...over a month later. Well, better late than never lol I'm a sucker for dark/evil/antagonist versions of characters(Megeman/Dark Megaman, Luke/Ash, pretty much Persona 4's bosses) so seeing that other Mare and Grendel instantly makes me interested in what they are about and the confrontations we'll have with them. I just know Falcom is gonna make each one hype/exciting. Already got the Switch LE preordered so I'm covered. Just gotta wait to get my hands on that bad boy! Man, if these games came out on Tuesdays like before it might've come out on my birthday(Feb 4th) and boy what a birthday gift to myself that would be lol Hmm, since Daybreak II comes out early 2025, most likely Jan.-Mar. than there's a chance for Kai to come out at the end of the year! Fingers crossed! I mean, NISA is already having a demo at the end of this month for Daybreak which is really quick which shows that they're much farther along in working on the game than we might think. ^_^ Get ready Cyrus, because remember all those reaction videos you did for Daybreak? You're gonna have to do all that and more again with Daybreak II and I'm looking forward to those videos and ramblings in said videos. XD
Bring on the videos! And the rambling xD I also really enjoy the "evil" counterpart to the MC. Feels like it'd be straight from a Super Sentai episode, lol
@@Cyrus_Bright It's just a cool thing for Falcom to add with opposing Grendal and Mare. Heh, looks like with recent news I'll be seeing much more videos from you too. Get prepared to lose even more sleep lol
I just Turbo through the levels when I want to get to the end, I like it though. Similar to the Reverie Corridor but still different enough to feel fun.
Honestly hasn’t a required side dungeons been a thing for trails since Cold Steel? (Old schoolhouse, Shrines, Labyrinth ect.) Or is it just something about this garden specifically that people hate about it? (I haven’t played the game yet just watched a translated lets play)
Well, every German Retailer has the 31st of March as the release date on their site. Amazon DE, Gamestop Deutschland and Saturn und Mediamarkt. I am very excited for this game and desperately need my Paycheck to buy this god damn limited Edition. I still have money though and August ends next week. Btw Cyrus, I might be too used to Anime seasons here but Winter is the beginning of the year. Winter is from Januay to March and the end of the year is fall. So Winter would be an early release date. If Kai comes out next year it might release in Fall. But we will never get worldwide releases. That is just way too much work. But at least we are only 2 games behind now and next year we might be just one game behind. I really wanna buy this game. But I can't. My money is not enough. I can't buy anything for the next 2 weeks. Just in case I still do not get paid next week. I want that Limited Edition! I need it! For my shelf!
The 31st might be a placeholder date but I'm still fairly confident it'll be sometime within the first 3 months. Better start saving up now so you can have enough for Daybreak 2 AND Kai :p
LOL I still can't believe you've been able to resist Daybreak for this long already xD but hey, that would be nostalgic for you right? Reminding you of the days when you binged every Trails game up until Reverie 😉
@@Cyrus_Bright Reverie was a good stopping point for me. It has been nice being able to catch up with everything I missed out on over the past year. I feel like once I play Daybreak I'm going to be sucked right back in again. lol
0:22 "most people there didn't play it yet" How? The game was out for a long time now? I thought I was slow, forgetting about Hajimari due to covid years, and then waking up suddenly due to anime and going to replay the games (to spend time with my husband Elliot) and then get to Hajimari and Kuro. Wow, people are even more sleepy than me.
Cool i just finished Daybreak and am excited for the next installment. Seen some reviews on crimson sin and for me i am predicting i will enjoy the game a lot. Daybreak was very plot heavy and little character development so im ready for another change in pacing. Falcom seem to have broken free from their shackles of poor story pacing in previous titles.
Daybreak 2 seems to focus more on the characters and their interactions with each other, while setting things up for Kai. So not much in terms of pushing overall story progress but that's totally fine for me xD
Welcome to Falcoms love of yearly releases xD at least you'll have plenty of time since Kai will take at least a year to get localized, plus the overall narrative isn't close to being finished so there's ultimately no rush. At least 2 or 3 more games after Kai.
Bro you slow, this was announced around a month ago 😂 Kai West release probably 2026, would be too much to release same year as Crimson Sin. Also I just finished Daybreak and it was this announcement that made me not spoil myself with playing Crimson Sin with fan translation, then again maybe I should go for the fan translation.
I had this recorded a month ago but forgot to post it xD There's plenty of games to hold us over until the official release, but if you're feeling that itch the Fan TL will always be there, albeit a bit rough in quality but it's serviceable.
I recorded this literally the day after the announcement but simply forgot to post it xD I got distracted by other things, lol, and only remembered when I saw the file in DaVinci 😅
@@Cyrus_Bright Ohhh ok that makes sense! I was so confused for a second lol. Because I know you are usually very fast when it comes to these new announcements and trailers and so on.

Imagine that? Oh man... what a time that would be 🥲
That ultimately depends on if falcom finally gives them the script before release in japan. That is the biggest reason we are still behind.
Man, I can totally see a February or March release date for Daybreak 2.
That early 2025 date makes me think they want to release Kai here asap. A fall 2025 release date for Kai would be crazy! 🤩
It would be kinda crazy to get it so soon, we might not have to wait very long for Kai after all... Fall would be insane 😭
I'd say more Winter 2025, but it could be Fall/Winter. EIther way KAI NEEDS TO COME ASAP after that peak cinema that was the intro for it!!!
