      Language constructs and creates symbolic harmonies (memes) andor not literalinear truths (themes).
      Why do people respect [gangsterism], and how is it different than why people respect classical music andor BJJ?
      You're thinking in the exclusionary, binary terms of A [gangster] and B [(some set of very specific associations within your schema)], while the OP is perhaps C'ing things on another level.

    He rides the wave waits for hisnmoment to pressure or go for the sub. Hes had some weak performances in the octagon but i feel he is one of the all timw.greatest martial artists ever in any weight.

    Man!!! Ryan hall is a MFer on the mats, this shows how good both the Diaz bros are on the ground. They just prefer to stand up and bang. Real mixed martial artists, I wish the Diaz bros would go ahead and use there Gracie jj the cement their spot as one of the best fighters to ever do it. They are obviously very very very high up there but could still be higher.

    • @Strype13
      @Strype13 5 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      How on earth does this show anything in regard to Nick's ground game? This merely shows that Nate is pretty adept at BJJ, which we all knew to begin with. "Best fighters to ever do it," though? That seems like a bit of a stretch.

    • @rcchristian2
      @rcchristian2 5 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      @@Strype13 I think what Mitchell meant is... he knows how good Ryan Hall is.. and Diaz beat Hall here back in the day... which is pretty incredible.
      BJ Penn got his BJJ black belt in what... ? 5 years? That's pretty unprecedented in the BJJ community... And Ryan Hall basically jiu jitsued him in 40 seconds....
      So what Mitchell is saying is that Diaz probably has under-rated BJJ right now... Because Hall is pretty good.
      Ryan has by far the best BJJ leg attacks in the UFC right now.

      @Kimura Blaze I disagree. The Ryan Hall in this video was a novice compared to where his BJJ is today. It took losing matches like this to create the view he has on BJJ now. Hall knows what works and what doesn't. How many people were using the 50/50 position before Hall? Generally that position was looked down on in pure BJJ but look how effective it is. Hall is a genius at BJJ.

    Ryan and Nate are the same age. But clearly, at age 21/22, Nate was stronger. Nate is a natural lightweight, and Hall is a natural featherweight (although he's doing just fine so far as a lightweight). It's hard to tell who actually had better technique in this video, although it's tempting to say Nate simply because he seemed so dominant. But if you look at that "close call" on the rear naked choke, I'm not so sure. I suspect Ryan's heel hook and 50/50 game have improved dramatically since then as well. Grappling experts: any input here?
