I think by now he knows Alicia has loads of money from doing youtube. He sees how she spends on each child birthday, every holiday, random vacations. He is probably just shy and a quiet kid.
I actually remember shortly after I was adopted my Mom just buying me things until I felt comfortable with asking or voicing a preference. I was really afraid they would send me back. I also struggled eating because I didn't want to be a bother or be noticed and I had food scarcity fear on top of it. I also remember being out to eat and me being scared to say what I wanted because I had never picked anything off a menu and my Dad reached over to help me by narrowing my choices and I flinched so bad I flew out of the booth. Just the reassurance he would never hit me and not get mad at me for my reaction. A lot of the things you do I can remember when I got that kind of love for the first time. Its really joyful to watch.
Love how Harlee knows to us the "I want these for the kids!" then she slips in "And this for me..." lol You should look at Kohl's, not sure if New York has Kohl's but it's a good place and they have an extra bigger big boys size. I enjoy watching you go shopping! I don't know why I like watching some people's actual shopping trips but I do!

Do you do little “store dates” with each child separately? I think that would be an awesome one on one time (just with mom) that the kiddos would love! A break from the entire clan and just chilling with mom! Some of the best moments are just mommy and me time!🥰

Honestly, Dayshawn probably can’t be bothered with picking out clothes. I’m sure he’ll be happy with whatever you bring home. To this day, my son still tells me to pick out whatever looks nice for him. He just doesn’t care. Period. I’m sure there are lots of boys like my son, Jake, and Dayshawn. p.s. My mom always had the hardest time getting me to pick out clothes, but what she likely didn't know is I just didn't want her spending so much money on me. I could've worn anything honestly. You can tell how much love you have in your heart for this kids. Everything you do is filled to the brim with it.
For him to not give you any tips with his clothing I think you did a great job! More dark tones like navy blues, grey, and black tend to be teen boys' go-to's. And for clothing hoddies, sweatpants, jeans, and one pair of dark khaki joggers to wear with a polo collar shirt.

hiii im a girl im highschool i have a tip! i know i’m always shy asking my mom for clothes because it can be embarrassing for whatever reason, what we like to do is look online and i can add things i like to the cart. we can either go in and look for my size there OR my mom will know what i kind of stuff i like and can go out and get something similar!! maybe that would work with some of your kids! i’ve never been fond of sharing what things i like with my family!!

when i was in foster care I felt very awkward when i was taken to buy clothes, first my size (i was very plump) then it was something i seldom did with my mother, and when i did it was a complete disaster ending very poorly, not sure if this is the same situation or not. I was also 12 there was no preparing me i was just taken into the system . In a strange way i was still devoted to my family, and tried my hardest not to relax and enjoy my new "family" just waiting for the chaos and destruction ,that was my childhood for 12 years, I love watching from the foster parents view , like you my foster parents were amazing and I still keep in contact with them 44 years later.
One of my sobs is a clothes horse, one son I bought his clothes at thrift stores and he was happy, he hated shopping, one was particular but had a simple style.…. DeShawn is an athlete! Most of his clothes will be from one sport practice to the next. Fun!!!!
I think maybe the skinny/tapered joggers and cargo pants, and the slouchier jackets will suit Desean's style better? My 15 y/o brother dresses pretty similar. He also loves oversized graphic tees and chunky sneakers. Shopping for him is also super difficult lmao

I like what you said at 5:27. About shopping for your child. I’ve got the same problem with my son. He so hard to shop for. He’s big for his age. It makes it difficult to shop for him.
When you said ‘cup holders’ I thought rubbish, blobs of chewing gum, half eaten sweeties…as you said they will put food in them 😂 Some weeks it feels like I’m constantly shuffling all of the seats in my close family group and all the seats in them. Why hasn’t a seat company come up with 3 car seats for smaller uk size cars that fit together. Without it being like a jigsaw. 🤦🏼♀️ a company does have some but they’re awful, ugly, don’t look comfy at all. Or even 3 of the same seat, instead of having to fit a lower side ones at each end to but a taller arm rest bit in the middle…ugh! I feel your pain! Companies in the uk aren’t allowed to make booster seats for children under 125 cm or 4 foot 11 tall. Where I worked we had 50 of them if we hired a coach for anything. If parents wanted to bring their ordinary car seats for the younger children they could & they fitted them on the coach. If it was the youngest children staff, including me any car seats we had and any spares from family. Seat belts on coaches was a great improvement, not just obvious safety, but it stopped children turning around in their seat to talk to the children behind. Making a chat dangerous.
you should try the soft wash old navy mens shirts!!! they come in plain colors and some patterns. my bf wears those and i even wear them too they’re soo comfy and cheap!
I forgot you have to buy clothes like every year when you’re a kid. I’ve had some of the same clothes since 2014. Back to school shopping was so expensive. Idk how my parents did it. They weren’t the best parents, but mad respect for all they did for me regulardless

when i was in foster care I felt very awkward when i was taken to buy clothes, first my size (i was very plump) then it was something i seldom did with my mother, and when i did it was a complete disaster ending very poorly, not sure if this is the same situation or not. I was also 12 there was no preparing me i was just taken into the system . In a strange way i was still devoted to my family, and tried my hardest not to relax and enjoy my new "family" just waiting for the chaos and destruction ,that was my childhood for 12 years, I love watching from the foster parents view , like you my foster parents were amazing and I still keep in contact with them 44 years later.
One of my sobs is a clothes horse, one son I bought his clothes at thrift stores and he was happy, he hated shopping, one was particular but had a simple style.….
DeShawn is an athlete! Most of his clothes will be from one sport practice to the next.

I like what you said at 5:27. About shopping for your child. I’ve got the same problem with my son. He so hard to shop for. He’s big for his age. It makes it difficult to shop for him.
When you said ‘cup holders’ I thought rubbish, blobs of chewing gum, half eaten sweeties…as you said they will put food in them 😂
Some weeks it feels like I’m constantly shuffling all of the seats in my close family group and all the seats in them.
Why hasn’t a seat company come up with 3 car seats for smaller uk size cars that fit together. Without it being like a jigsaw. 🤦🏼♀️ a company does have some but they’re awful, ugly, don’t look comfy at all. Or even 3 of the same seat, instead of having to fit a lower side ones at each end to but a taller arm rest bit in the middle…ugh! I feel your pain! Companies in the uk aren’t allowed to make booster seats for children under 125 cm or 4 foot 11 tall.
Where I worked we had 50 of them if we hired a coach for anything. If parents wanted to bring their ordinary car seats for the younger children they could & they fitted them on the coach. If it was the youngest children staff, including me any car seats we had and any spares from family. Seat belts on coaches was a great improvement, not just obvious safety, but it stopped children turning around in their seat to talk to the children behind. Making a chat dangerous.
Oh my gosh yes! And most vans don’t have the clips on every seat so it’s like a puzzle finding which seats have latch and which don’t.
you should try the soft wash old navy mens shirts!!! they come in plain colors and some patterns. my bf wears those and i even wear them too they’re soo comfy and cheap!
I forgot you have to buy clothes like every year when you’re a kid. I’ve had some of the same clothes since 2014. Back to school shopping was so expensive. Idk how my parents did it. They weren’t the best parents, but mad respect for all they did for me regulardless
